Achievement Guide
Hoodlum - 5Be on the winning side in a multiplayer match in any of the multiplayer modes See The Don Patriot - 5Capture a flag in a CTF match See Flag Owner Murderer - 5Claim a Killing Streak in multiplayer See Butcher Hard to Kill - 5Take enough damage without dying within a multiplayer match Create a custom player match with a max players of two. Invite a friend and have him shoot you in the foot with a pistol until one more shot will kill you (the pistol does 32 damage). Grab some health and repeat until you get the achievement. Flag Runner - 5Capture 20 flags in a CTF match See Flag Owner Flag Owner - 10Capture 50 flags in a CTF match Create a custom player match with a max players of two on Team CTF. Set the match time and flag captures to whatever you please, but I suggest 3 captures to win because the faster the games go, the quicker your overall wins go up. Now just have one player sit there (they can go completely afk if you set it to a map cycle) and let the other player capture flags or trade off until you both have 50 captures. Note: You can both be on the same team allowing each of you to benefit from the win. I would suggest it. Butcher - 25Claim 20 Killing Streaks in multiplayer Another one you can get while boosting wins. Every four kills you get without dying will count as a "Killing Streak." You can grind these out in a single game but you will need to die once you reach the max killing streak so you can gain more. Mook - 5Be on the winning side in 5 multiplayer matches See The Don Henchman - 15Be on the winning side in 20 multiplayer matches See The Don Contract Killer - 25 Be on the winning side in 50 multiplayer matches See The Don Made Man - 35Be on the winning side in 100 multiplayer matches See The Don The Don - 45Be on the winning side in 250 multiplayer matches Create a custom player match with a max players of two set to Team CTF with auto balance turned off, map cycle turned on, and flag captures set to 3. Have both of you get on the same team and then launch the game. Now just start running the flag, you will both get the win. You can do this with up to four people on the same team leeching wins. WARNING: A friend and I were the victim of a bug which would RESET our wins to 100 if the server's Xbox360 would freeze or lose connection. Be warned, this has been the source of much headache for me. Anti Hero - 25Complete game on normal setting Beat the campaign on normal setting and watch the credits all the way through to the main menu. Note: You can get this achievement simultaneously with Legendary Dark if you play the game through on hard setting first. Legendary Dark - 35 Complete game on hard setting Beat the campaign on hard setting and watch the credits all the way through. Note: You cannot get this achievement by loading the last chapter and setting the difficulty to Hard. You must beat the entire game on hard, but nice try . Cannibal - 25 Devour 300 enemies Devour 300 hearts in the single player campaign. This count does not carry over between games. Fashionable - 25Collect all the Darkling outfits Here is a list of all the outfits and their locations: Potato Sack: In Chinatown as soon as you exit the subway station right in front of you leaning on a wall. Jungle Outfit: While escaping the first helicopter encounter, you are required to go through a pool hall. Once you exit the pool hall there is a bum, to the left is a door with a vent above it. Use your Creeping Dark to go vent and into the room where you will find the Jungle Outfit and a collectible. Sledgehammer Outfit: When going to kill the last guy on Vinnie's list (by Shrote's appartment), there is an open window with a guy monitoring him. The outfit is on the wall to the right. Lumberjack Outfit: When you help Dana in the Canal Street Station she will have you go to an apartment in Chinatown. In the apartment room is the outfit. Fireman Outfit: In the room where you kill the snitch for Jimmy the Grape in Grinder's Alley. Jackhammer Outfit: When traveling to the Turkish Baths in the abandoned subway station, you will see an old subway train. Inside the train is the outfit. To get two additional outfits that don't apply to the achievement enter 4263 for a baseball outfit and 5664 for a golf outfit. Bringing People Together - 5Trap 5 enemies within a Black Hole This can be done in numerous parts of the game. Most notably near the end when there are large amounts on enemies in a single room. 666Priest suggested: Quote:
Rogue Killer - 15Kill 15 enemies using Creeping Dark This cannot be done on the zombies in the underworld. Void Bringer - 15Kill 20 enemies using Black Hole This cannot be done on the zombies in the underworld. Gunner - 15Kill 30 enemies using Darkness Guns This can be done on the zombies int he underworld and it is suggested you do so. Ripper - 15Kill 30 enemies using Demon Arm This cannot be done on the zombies in the underworld. Summoner - 5Summon 5 Darklings See Legendary Summoner. Legendary Summoner - 25 Summon 50 Darklings Easy, just summon 50 Darklings from any summon portal. You could feasibly sit there and do this on the very first one, but its not necessary. Darkness Master - 100 Only for those who are completely in tune with the Darkness You get this achievement from using each Darkness power a certain amount. You can check your progress in the achievement menu and the stats track over multiple games. Roadkill - 10Kill the workers in the tunnel The workers you need to kill are from the very beginning car chase sequence. This was a little tough at first, but with a few things in mind it isn't so hard. First off, you never need to reload so simply keep pressing the fire button as you move your cursor around, sometimes you can accidentally get some kills with the quick jerks. As well, you seem to only need to get around 7 kills for this to register so don't worry about getting every single worker. Last edited by Krispy; 07-17-2007 at 05:01 AM. |

Ghandi - 10Find a peaceful solution. At least momentarily You get this achievement when you go to find Paulie's drug doctor, Harry. There is a man outside the compound who will tell you the secret code, "hit me," as long as you don't pull out your Darkness or a weapon. Walk up to the gate and tell them the pass code then walk up to Roach and tell him you want to talk to Harry. As long as you never draw your Darkness ora weapon, you will get the achievement. Romantic - 10Real guys stick around for their ladies When you go to Jenny's apartment she will ask you to sit on the couch and watch a movie with her. Simply accept and do not get up until she leans over and kisses you and then falls asleep. Heart of Gold - 50Help those in need This is acquired by doing the side missions in the game. A guide for the side missions can be found here. Gunslinger - 25 Kill 7 enemies within 15 seconds There are a few places you can get this achievement. Most notably at the very end of the game right before you enter the mansion or PooN DADDY FLEX''s method which can be found here. Anti Air - 15 Bring down the Chopper After you get the Black Hole ability and grab the briefcase from the Turkish Baths, some soldiers will rope in from a helicopter. Use a Black Hole on the helicopter to bring it down. You cannot destroy the helicopter first two times you encounter it. Take a Look at the Sky - 50Take down 6 airplanes The second time you enter the underworld you are required to get onto a tank turret. While on the turret airplanes will fly over which you must destroy. If you don't destroy six of them by the time you reach the first stronghold, restart from your last checkpoint and try again. Knuckle, Meet Face - 5Perform a melee kill for the first time Perform a melee attack by pressing the left trigger while using a non-dual weapon. Up Close and Personal - 5Perform an execution move for the first time See Legendary Executioner. Executioner - 10Kill 25 enemies using execution moves See Legendary Executioner. Picking Up Stuff - 5Unlock a collectable for the first time See Completionist. Gatherer - 5Unlock 25 collectables See Completionist. The Collector - 10 Unlock 50 collectables See Completionist. The Obsessive Collector - 15Unlock 75 collectables See Completionist. Completionist - 20 Unlock 100 collectables There are two ways to go about doing this. You can do it the way the game intended by finding all of the collectibles, doing all of the side missions, and finding all of the letters. A list for the collectibles can be found here and a guide to the side missions here. The second method involves using a set of phone numbers hacked out of hte game which can be found here (only the 73 numbers that say "collectible" next to them will work). The remaining 27 unlockables come from the letters found in the underworld areas. Use the collectibles guide for locating all of them. You may also reload an old checkpoint if you miss one and don't feel like starting a new game over, all progress is saved over multiple games. Note: Acrid Placidity pointed out to me that collectible #37 is not where any of the guides say it is: Quote:
Bullet Dodger - 20Finish a multiplayer match with less than 5 deaths (minimum of 4 players) Very easy. Either create a Team Deathmatch game with 10 kills to win and everyone in the game is pretty much guaranteed to get the achievement or join any public match and just sit in some obscure corner of some obscure roof in Darkling form while you wait for the match to end. Legendary Executioner - 20Kill 50 enemies using execution moves A good way to do this is to load a chapter where you are in the underworld. Now just walk up to one of the soldiers and do an execution move on him. He will get back up and when he does do another execution. You can continue doing this on the same target until you get the achievement. Beginnings - 25Complete the first part of the game You get this after ending the first chapter (the first time you enter the underworld). Into the Dark - 50Complete the second part of the game You get this once you enter the underworld for the second time. Happy Birthday - 25Acquire Creeping Dark Given to you automatically when you exit the cemetery bathroom. No Man's Land - 25 Acquire Demon Arm Given to you once you devour the heart of the first German zombie in the underworld. Crazy For You - 25 Acquire Black Hole Given to you once you devour the heart of [insert name of guy before Turkish Baths] right before you enter the Turkish Baths. Hills - 25Acquire Darkness Guns Given to you once get the top of the hill in the underworld and speak to Death. Darkling Master - 15Acquire all Darkling types You will get these as you play the game. One With the Dark - 25Achieve maximum Darkness level You should get this in one play through easily, it takes 180 hearts. Keeper of the Secret - 10Someone's waiting by the phone Go to a phone and enter the numbers found here in any order. You don't need to type in the "555" before each number. Side missions are incomplete.
Chen should be there too as should Jimmy the Grape, plus Mortarello guides aren't there. Rosie Hazelgrove, too. I am sure there is more too as I still haven't gotten the achievement. Last edited by Trevelyan; 06-30-2007 at 01:24 PM. |

Almost done Heart of Gold, when ive finished it ill post all the locations in a little post if Krispy wants to include it in his guide |

Does it matter when you do the side missions? Also, does it matter if you miss a collectible... Can you go back?

For the Heart of Gold achievement, you'll need to (for the most part) help people out in the subway. At different parts/chapters (if chapters is more appropriate than parts, someone correct me), you will get different side quests.
100% complete. Minus pics. Part 1 George Handel - The harmonica player on the stairs to Chinatown, in Canal Street. Basically, some guy called Compton Scarr doesn't like his music. Accept, tell him you'll sort it and go back down the stairs where Scarr should be. Simple enough, tell him to let George play. Go back up and you'll get a collectible from George. Ingrid Pulankski - Ageing woman at Fulton, on the side that the train comes in on. She will want you to find her bracelet for her. I think its the exact same place in each game, but it can take some finding. Jump onto the tracks (be careful you don't get hit, it may take a few examinations to find) and run around near to the platform's edge till you see the message at the bottom telling you to pick it up. Go back to her for another collectible. Charlane Warburton - woman who, oddly, wants to see you pick up four coins from the tracks. She is at Canal Street on the side that there is apparently no incoming trains. However, this may take a few attempts. If you don't get all four on your first try, go back to her and do it again. You have to get them all in one go. I found it helpful to just bash away at "A" just before she threw them, and then run onto the tracks as shes throwing them. I managed to usually catch one or two before they hit the rails. Go back to her and you will get another collectible. Part 2 After you get chucked off the train, walk to the end of the platform (to the end that the train enters from, someone tell me if its not the platform you get chucked off onto) Dana Cutrone wants you to get her key back to her appartment from her boyfriend. Go to Chinatown, go straight down the street, down the alley in front of you and turn right. Fumble around inside that building and you'll find Dana's crib. Jimmy the Grape will be kind of amazed that you're alive. Speak to him again and he will want you to whack a potential grass. Go to Grinder's and turn left twice. Inside you'll know where to go; the door with the goons outside. Taken them out how you will, a further two more inside and the snivelling wreck will be inside. You know what to do. Return the list to the Grape to net another collectable. Back in Fulton, you should see Vinny Mortarello. He wants you to take out a few people. - First up is a guy hanging around your Aunt Sarah's in Eastside. Go there and its behind (and to the right of) the exit of the subway. He will be by a lamppost at the end of the street, go take care of him. As you go back to the subway, a car will come down the street. - Go back to Mortarello, who will tell you your next hit is a guy at Grinder's. He's got a few cops with TMPs around him, but I found that impaling him with the demon arm and dragging him off worked well, if you do it quickly. - Back to Vinny, who will tell you the third one is back near your Aunt Sarah's. Go back there and go to behind and to the left of where you exit the subway. You can't miss it - its the car making noise. Silence the gang and go back to Mortarello. - Fourth is in Chinatown (If I remember correctly). Exit the subway, go forward and left down an alleyway (again, this one is hazy, can someone reconfirm?). Kill that scummy dealer and return to Vinny. - Now this final one has seemed to be problematic to some people. You have to kill some guy that is watching Eddie over at Gun Hill. Some say they have killed Eddie and they can't access this guy therefore. I am not sure if this is true or not, some have said its not. Either way, hes not in the same building. Just before you go under and into the building that you need to enter to take the elevator, look to your right and there should be an open window a small way up. Use your creeping arm to enter and mutilate the guy. Return to Vinny for another collectible. Go back to Handel and it will turn out that Scarr jacked his harmonica. Scarr is over in Lower Eastside with two other guys, as if you were going to Whitefish (the long way round). Don't worry, he won't talk.. just attack on sight. So get the hits in first and take Handel's Harmonica back to him. Before you do this though, you may wish to speak to.. Terence Willis. He will be sitting on a box at the train's entrance end of the platform at Canal Street. He wants you to wipe out some people over at Whitefish. You know what to do... come back and his reward is to help you with.. Lucas Hellinger (round the corner). You cant win the game without Terence's help. Talk to Terence who will then tell you to distract him and chalk a cup. Select "Distract" when you talk to Lucas and then simply choose the marked cup when he asks you where the ball is under. Simple. Over at Fulton, a guy called Mitch Duval is hanging out by the locked gate at the end of the platform, train-side. Just go through the tunnels after talking to him, as if you were going to the Turkish baths to snatch the case. His brother can't be talked to, hes lost it. Beware of the traps on the way and kill him (Use creeping dark to destroy the power going into the water, demon arm to disarm all the chain-traps along the way, the arm again to pull a box over the grate by the door with chains in front of it and creeping arm again to open the locked door from the grate overhead.) Smash the padlocks to either side of the center door by Deval and use one of the crates to hop up on top (use the arm to get it in place). Then just use the black hole to open the blocking exit. On your way back, talk to his brother who gives you another collectible. Back in the WWI village, on your way back to the trenches, you will go back down a ladder and out of some short sewer system. This is nowhere obscure but its easy to miss the guy since theres a lot of tommies that look the same. Anyway this one is Charlie Hazelgrove, who wants you to give a message to Rose over in Fulton Street station. You can't finish this till after you're back, but this is the last time you'll be in the village so do it now. Part 3 Find Rose for another collectible over in Fulton Street station (should be around the area Vinny is/was in). For the whole game she remains asleep there until you wake her. Little Petey is also in Fulton Street. Go find him around and deliver a letter to Mickey Famiano (by a vending machine in a dark red hat) over at Canal Street. Receipt of the letter gives you another collectible. Go back to Canal Street and up the stairs towards Trinity Church. Enzo wants you to switch cases with Frankie "Noses" Tieri on the platform by an information booth. Take the case, go find Noses, switch them and go back for your collectible. Alfred Blackmoore is near the exit to Chinatown. Turns out that Dana is wanted out of her house - seems a bit harsh since you just helped her back in. Anyway, kick her out and go back for your collectible. Finally, go back to Trinity Cemetary and talk to the hobo, Frank Rottenberg, there. He got kicked out after the cops went in. Just get your creeper arm and go inside the toilets. The insulin is on the table by his bed. There you have it! 100%! Any questions? Ask! Ill add pictures later. Short answer, no. Your can go back and do the ones you didn't do in a new game or from an old checkpoint. But you can't go back in some parts of the game that you're currently in. Example, you can't go back to the construction site without starting a new game. Also, some of the side missions cannot be done after certain points, (see my post above on Hazelgrove) |

About the summoner achievment, I did what it said on two seprate profiles and it didn't work, I had to go to five seprate holes to get this achievment. Was I doing somthing wrong? I killed a darkling after summoning it then I would summon another one right away.

Excellent work Trevelyan, but it is a bit verbose for me to add directly to the guide. Post it in a separate topic called "Side Mission Walkthrough" or something similar and I'll link directly to it (mycheats is incomplete anyways). Hopefully we can get an admin to sticky it as well.
The Gunslinger quote is excellent, I shall add it (much better than my crappy suggestion hah). Edit: I ran out of room on my second post too. I'll add the Gunslinger quote when I repost the guide... sorry folks, first time doing this :P. Last edited by Krispy; 06-30-2007 at 09:53 PM. |

Thanks for the guide, I could not find the Jungle Outfit anywhere.
I got it from the Hobo to, but I had 84% when I beat the game. I guess it needs to be at 93%? Last edited by ImmortalLeoman; 06-30-2007 at 10:58 PM. |

I don't know if this has been posted before...
I just beat the game on Hard mode and I got both Anti Hero and Legendary Dark after the credits. I just thought this could be added the Legendary Dark achievement in the guide. |

Subway is also a good level for getting the killing spree achievements. To benefit, (for starters, set it to one-hit kills) use the hallway that is above and horizontal to the staircase leading down to where the subway train tracks are located. Standing on the right side of this hallway when facing away from the flag, they will spawn opposite to you. You should get a kill off them once every 1-2 seconds. You will have to be killed once you reach the max killing spree to continue collecting them for the achievement. Last edited by Acrid Placidity; 07-01-2007 at 09:28 PM. |

The reason why I suggest 3 is so you can boost wins at the same time, since I doubt you will get 250 wins before 50 flag caps, this would be prudent. Also, in my experience, I have found Subway to take the longest. Using two people to relay the flag, it takes roughly 1:10, while on all the other levels I can get a win in under a minute, sometimes in under 50 seconds. The quickest in my opinion is the one with the big empty pool in the middle, I have gotten it done in 40 seconds before.
Your observations on the killing streak achievement are pretty accurate though, its a better process than what I was doing. Last edited by Krispy; 07-01-2007 at 09:54 PM. |

How about adding that you can all be on the same team to boost the wins, so 4 v 0 and they still count
![]() Also try the map with the swimming pool in the old trashed mansion. You can relay it in around a minute, so 250 wins = 250 mins

Marge: That's not what I meant! Homer: It was Marge, admit it. |
