SEASON PASS

Gears 3 will be offering a season pass which is a one time purchase of the first 4 main dlc packs for the game. The pass will cost 2400 msp which is a 33% discount compared to if you were to buy each pack individually. The Pass will also give you an exclusive liquid metal skin for each of the five starting weapons. The first dlc pack ill be out in November and the next 3 will release throughout 2012.

PURCHASABLE WEAPON SKINS

Gears 3 will also be providing over 100 weapon skins to purchase with msp.
Here is a breakdown:
There are 21 weapons skin sets. 1 set includes the lancer, hammerburst, retro, gnasher and sawed-off skins. Sets can either be 'static' or 'animated'. 'Static' is a basic skin with a design that doesn't move. An 'animated' skin looks something like this:

-1 static set will cost you 240 MSP
-1 animated set will cost you 320MSP
-You can also buy a gun collection which is all 21 skins for a specific gun. That will run you 1200 MSP Not that the 2 shotguns are bundled together for the same price. This is due to the sawed-off having less space for the skin design so the effect is lessened.

-Alternatively you can buy all the weapon skins (105 in total) for a grand total of 3600 MSP. This is 37% cheaper than if you bought everything individually (the total would be 5700 MSP).

In this case we pretty much get 1 dlc pack free and a weapon skin set if we 'lock-in' our money ahead of time.

However it should be known that 2 gears 3 maps (Azura and Rustlung) have been cut from the retail disc. I've seen leaked gameplay clips of the maps and it seems Epic (or Microsoft) chose to hold it and use it for dlc. The maps were completely done and I wouldn't be surprised to see them show up as dlc. Whether they will come at a price is yet to be known.

Hahhah Ye same, I bought LA Noire (got 1000G) then traded it in, yet still bought that deal after, cause I know I will buy it back and that it will have saved me some cash$$

i dont get why season pass is not limited time offer. surely they should get every1 buying it in a rush and attract more buyers by making it limited because once all the DLC is on the market place individually, nobody will buy them. every1 will got for the cheap option (season pass) unless u get the occasional few who buy the DLC because it's cheaper short term. tbh, it's just over £21 or $30, who can't afford that?

The season pass is basically the Gears 3 'All-Fronts' bundle. unless you already bought 2 dlc packs, the deal is still worth it. Of course there will be other discounts and such but if you want all the dlc as it comes out (and the weapon skins) then the pass is well worth it.

ik it'll be like the all fronts bundle, but i just wonder if u instantly get the map packs on release with it without having to download them. if so, then technically downloading the pass is downloading the map packs pre-release date, which would mean they could possibley be glitched and accessed for release.

It's probably just an unlock code. Once the dlc is released on XBL then the code will activate and download the dlc automatically.

i think u could if u downloaded a countdown program, set it to how long until launch then attatch it as a file to ur post.

this is gonna be boss, i pre-ordered the system bundle when i should be fixing the underbody to my car! I know there are apps for the countdown on smartphones cuz my buddy sends me a text every 5 minutes on how much time is left til releasal.

And on top off that, Ice T is a voice of Griffin, ironic he sang about killing cops and he as NYPD's Detective Odafin Tutuola lmao.

cant wait to get my hands on the epic edition. there's just so much stuff in there. i think the limited edition is actually a really good limited edition. gow2 limited edition wasn't that good tbh.

Rod has stated that they will be giving away the green skins for normal players. They were developer exclusives in the beta.

The COG codes are for minor Gears stuff from what I have seen so far. Mostly printouts like certificates, 3D poster, and papercraft stuff. Nothing in game. Have to have a Facebook to do it which I do not. Found info in this thread. has pics of the stuff.

thnx. according to the updates on the thread it's a marketing promotion as an incentive to buy something they're selling. i can't remember why, but i think the 4 pieces of DLC u get from season pass arn't all the DLC that will be released, so i'm guessing the green guns will come with the other DLC items.

i suggest that the set will come with DLC just like the LM skin set comes exclusively with the season pass. since the 4 DLCs pre-purchased are "the first four", that implies that there's more DLC to come, so i suggest that the green liquid skins will be included with any of or a collection of them.

The green skins will be free. They will be part of a special promotion so I doubt they will be bundled with dlc.

ye, just like the LM are "free" with the season pass

plus, it is a promotion or a 'bonus'. ur not paying for the skins, ur paying for the DLC, and the skins come with it as something extra for free and not included with the price.

The LM skins are part of the season pass which costs money. They are not free. In order to get the skins you need to pay money. The green skins will be free similar to how Griffin was free if you 'liked' Gears 3 on Facebook. oooo i think i've worked it out =D since it's available to normal players, that basically means anyone who plays gears 3. they dont have to go on facebook or social networking or on the internet at all to get them. i bet they will be part of a promotion on xbox live for playing the game at a certain time, like the way they're just tossing out the gold lancer and hammerburst to everyone who plays the game week 1. so i recon on a particular weekend or perhaps for anyone who plays during the week of christmas, who knows?

that way, all kinds of players will have the chance to unlock them. they might even make it similar to the beta where each day/week/month unlocks a different liquid green weapon or possibley even make us perform a few tasks within that time period to unlock them too. again, who knows?

I love the General RAAM reference at the beginning and how Delta's armor changes midway through the trailer.

Be sure to try this out. Play the Gears 'Mad World' trailer, then play/watch the 'Dust to Dust' trailer on mute at the same time. If you do it right the 'Mad World' song syncs up perfectly to the new trailer.
