while i agree the game does suck, it's a playable game nonetheless. Maybe they'll make the next one better.

The game was bad but not as horrible as lot of people made it out to be. Remember it was a budget title at only 39.99. I do agree this one will need lots of improvements in order for me to actually purchase it.

Thanks for letting us know that you dont like this game, but not every one same as you. So, you don't need to make a thread about this.

IMHO the game is not that bad, especially if you can get it somewhere at lower price. And who knows, maybe the second one's gonna be way better?

well, since there is no bitching thread, or any other threads for the game, i dont see a problem with it. He didnt make a duplicate thread, ignore a sticky, or ignore the search button, so I cant imagine any forum rules were broke. |

If they make it so that it's actually playable on non-HD TV's without straining your eyes, fix the getting snagged on the environment shit like when you have to jump over a bloody leaf and make it in so the AI don't have super human vision and can't spot you when you're hiding in a bush wearing a gillie suit 500 meters away. Oh and also do something with the multiplayer, I don't know what, just something. It could actually have the potential to be a half decent Sequel.

The majority of you are saying how bad it was. Why?
It's an excellent game that has it's flaws. And ofcourse they can hit you at 500 meters with assualt rifles. The majority of their effective range is at least 300 to 700. It wouldn't be much if a challenge if they just said "Oh Look. Over there. That's the player that is. Let's walk towards him casually until we are only 50 meters away then fire like we got shotguns." And as far as been seen in a bush, ghillie suit and all, it never happened to me. Intact. Got my first knife kill doing that. I guess you did something to get his attention. If it's just you don't like this 'type' or FPS then go play COD, of the far superior BF series of games. But I cannot wait, I and will be popping the heads with my assualt rifle from 500 meters away. Cause it's easy enough for me to do. Semper Fi marines.

I didn't make it through the first level of the first game before I went HULK on this game (rage quit). What bugged me is that I am laying prone in tall grass...behind a wall...in the pause menu and somehow I still alert the enemy troops (Slight Exaggeration). I don't think the first one was popular enough to warrant a second game. Don't let Carmona25 fool you though, if it has achievements....he's down to play.

They're making a v.2 because the first one was very well received despite the flaws.
Wouldn't anyone love to have a better version of the first? I'm already applauding the fact that there's at least 1 developer out there using Cryengine 3, more devs should get a license and ditch their 20 years old garbage engine (gamebryo anyone) |

We need more sniper games. MW/MW2 had some good sniper elements to it as well as Sniper 1. It's lots of fun
so bring it on!

What did you expect from a budget title? I personally enjoyed the game during the duration of the 1000, but it wasn't amazing, but it's way better than some of the other games on the market.

I had fun with it. It wasn't awesome, but it was pretty decent. If I remember correctly, I bought it for 39.99, which was a good deal. Pretty easy cheevo's as well.
I'll play this one. |

I still haven't got around to playing the first one but I don't know why they want to make a sequel since everyone hated the first one so much.

Lots ot terrible games get sequels, Wet and The Darkness for for example. Sometimes companies put a lot of money into new IP's and they hope that it wasnt for nothing

I never had any kind of issues with the first game. sure it wasnt perfect but for a $40 budget game i thought it was amazing. Id pick this sniper series over Cod or BF any day of the week. ive played a bit of both of those but dont get what the big deal is. opinions are like A****** afterall. no need to get bent out of shape about it...if you dont like the game, then dont come in and comment on this one and dont play it

I liked the first one but I got tired of the crawling around part of it. Sneaking...yes. Crawling on your belly like a reptile...no.
The thing that made me sell it was the fact the AI could see you on a moonless night, at midnight, in 10' tall grass, from 1000 yards away.

Actually looking forward to it. I enjoyed the first one somewhat, except the MP achievements which I still haven't finished. With a new engine, it should be awesome. Also, Stuart Black left the Bodycount team and went to City Interactive, which means they'll have more backbone to them this time.

I honestly liked the first game. If it needs to fix anything it would be getting rid of the levels they tried to make like call of duty. I bought the game because i love to snipe not because I wanted to run around an oil rig with an M16

I'll be checking out sniper elite v2 first. i love the original. i did play ghost warrior 1 and enjoyed it for the most part. only question is, have they fixed the problems? most game developers learn from their mistakes but some never seem to. I hope the game does well, but only time will tell

I hope they don't put any bits where your not given a sniper again, I want the game to be better than the last with Mabye co op instead of multiplayer, because the achivments where impossible but apart from that I think I might be looking forward to it, not enough stealthy games around these days

I'm playing through the first game now (offline with no update so the Seeker bug/glitch doesn't affect me). They're easy enough single player achievements, which is why I'm playing it. Definitely not going for any multiplayer ones. I don't want to have it rented from Gamefly forever...
I don't know what it is, but I hate games that take place in the jungle, and this game is nothing but. But I guess that's a suitable environment for snipers. While it's an okay game, there are a lot of bugs. You're right about enemies being able to see and shoot you from 400 meters way. I had a hell of a time at the beginning of level 3, Dangerous Grounds, the one where you have to sneak undetected to the lighthouse. I'd be prone in the foliage and some fucker 100 meters away would see me and raise the alarm. I must have replayed the first part of that level 15 times. It sucked. I was ready to say fuck it to the game. The gameplay isn't bad, but there's nothing innovative about it. Seems like they took Sniper Elite, put it in a modern setting and left out some things. I did like the "concentration mode", however unrealistic it is. I'm waiting for the achievements to decide whether I'm going to play this or not. If they're similar to the first game, I may rent it.

I enjoyed the campaign but disliked multiplayer. Something about the movement and controls just felt odd. If the 2nd one has multiplayer achievements I might skip it. I think Sniper Elite V2 was far superior.
