Chapter 7 elevator achivement impossible with only Plasma cutter?

The only gun i currently have right now is the plasma cutter and i cannot for the life of me kill all the things jumping on the elevator. I consider myself "amazing" at FPS and third person FPS's. I am just not quick enough. It takes 3 perfectly aimed shots to kill these buggers.

i did it with only a semi upgraded plasma cutter so its doable just took me a bit to get it

with this one I myself used a pretty well upgraded plasma cutter and 1 or 2 shots in the shoulder (yellow area) took em down...they should hang on long enough for you to take them out just make sure your hitting their weak point and stay some what in the middle to find them easier

Isn't a "third person FPS" a bit of an oxymoron? But anyway... my brother managed to do it with a Plasma Cutter that was mostly upgraded though Force Gun just seems to be easier.

If u go to youtube and type in elevator action achievement. There is a Ps3 video of a guy doing this achievement with the detornator gun. I did what he did and hit those creatures in the chest (never their soft spots) and they always fell off. After a couple of tries I got it with this gun which was not upgraded at all. lol, your right, third person FPS really is an oxymoron, and i am just a moron. Anyway my plasma cutter is not very strong since i spent all my upgrades on the flamethrower, which was a mistake. I guess ill have to do it in another playthrough.

I was having trouble with this one, too, but it's actually really easy.

You can do it with the plasma cutter (I did). Just save before you start the elevator, save your game in the room with the vintage suits.

Use stasis on them, then hit their weak spots as fast as you can. To be honest, I tried it on Zealot and couldn't get it after 4 tries, so I loaded up my save, CHANGED THE DIFFICULTY to easy, and got it first try. After it popped, I reloaded my save and kept going on Zealot.

my stasis only lets me freeze to people without a stasis pack, if i could stasis more then 2 it wouldnt be a problem.

I just did the elevator scene with only the plasma cutter, it was the only weapon I had in my inventory and I got the achievement at the end.

No stasis was used.
It just a matter of rotating until your eyes start to bleed.

Yah I found that vid too and it looked like a great idea. I tried using the Seeker rifle with no upgrades and got through most of it but kept missing one tripod near the end when I'd bugger up my stasis shots when several were attacking at once. So long as you're accurate hitting the weak spots.

Next run though...Detonator all the way!

Yah, I tired with the cutter many of times and always messed up at the end. So, I saw the video and tried that and in no time I had the achievement. This achievement is a pain in the butt but Im just glad its over now.

Someone in the achievement guide thread suggested using the secondary fire for the Pulse Rifle and I used that method and it worked like a charm. Just stock up on pulse rounds and save right before the elevator sequence, just in case you don't get it. Took me about 3-4 tries, but it really makes it much easier. Just lob a grenade at their bodies and they go down. Reload, aim, repeat.

That's how I did it.

I started that area with almost no money and only an upgraded plasma cutter and rig. I got pretty close with the plasma cutter, but just wasn't fast enough to nail all of them before hitting the top.

I created a new save, sold off almost everything, bought the pulse rifle, respec'ed my cutter in order to upgrade the alt-fire on the pulse rifle and then spent the rest on ammo...lots of ammo.

Even still it took me a couple of times to nail it. The first one always pop up to the immediate left of the elevator activation switch.

Yeah I had lots of problem with this achievement too but finally made it by taking the advice about using the Pulse Rifle secondary fire.

Used my fully upgraded plasma cutter on easy difficulty and got it first try, It was damn easy!

Whoever says the Plasma Cutter method is "easy"...is retarded.

Make another Save...Upgrade the Plasma Rifle as much as you can by Respec all your Power Nodes into the Plasma and get around 500-600 Ammo...and Grenade it...makes it EASY

just did it using the plasma rifle secondary fire method... took about 3 tries to get used to rotating the camera efficiently

on Normal difficulty i didn't need to upgrade my gun at all... one shot did the job every time...

and it took exactly 500 ammo so unless you're confident you won't miss, buy a few extra

That is what I used to get the achievement, the Zealot Force Gun. Didn't have to use stasis on them either to help get the achievement. The Force Gun does seem to be the easiest weapon to use.
