How to clean the DVD lenses without opening...

My xbox is suffering from the open tray error, is there a way to clean the DVD lenses without opening the xbox or do i HAVE to open it and then clean it?

Have you tried cleaning the disc with a tissue?
If so i think they have some cleaning prodducts that come on cds with brushes that what my xbox original had, but these things damagemore then clean. If you are that worried and it's not reading anything you'll have to send it to microsoft.

Wow, my last xbox had the open tray error, and I tried everything, cleaning the discs, cleaning the lense, but nothing =/

I had to buy a new one.......

Much better than over priced disc cleaners and its gets all the dust and dirt from inside the xbox tray etc and not just off the lens. You can probally pick up something similiar and cheaper from you local hardware store.

Genesis do you blow the air inside the disc tray?
That is not good for your disc tray.

it is advised that you clean the lens every 100 hours of use. for some of us that is nearly twice a week!

my xbox "charlie white" survives, thank's to you sir i hope it survives long enough till may 25th where i can celebrate it's 3rd birthday (yes, my xbox is 3 years old!)
