Human Runestone - how to get there?

I'm on part 3 of the Runestones questline and can't find the way to the eastern part of the Swallows for the life of me. There just seems to be no path, all gates are locked as well - what gives?

The guide found here doesn't answer that question either.

I just walked around the whole shit lol.. When your in the jungle north of New Ashos, just head to the beach in the north, and walk around the shore til you get there =)

Thanks, but I finally did it another way - by boat! You can buy a boat for 3k at the docks south of the university, and just sail there.
