Achievement Guide and Road Map

Hey everyone this is my first guide so constructive criticism is welcomed

Overview:

-Do cheat codes disable achievements ? No cheats
-Glitched achievements: None

Introduction
Welcome to Blade Kitten,the side scrolling platformer from Atari. There are 12 achievements for a total of 200 The achievements are straight forward and aren't too difficult,you'll obtain most of the achievements from simply playing the game,while others will take some time.


First Playthrough
Your first playthrough should be used to familiarize yourself with the controls and the levels,all while obtaining the story achievements as well as

Slide Queen
Kitten Power
Loot to Boot
Nine Lives
The Kit Fu is Strong in This One
Invisible Bike
Weaporisseur

Second Playthrough
Since you should be familiar with the levels by now,its time to attempt the speed run,your total time for the entire game needs to be under 90 minutes,to achieve this your time for each level must be at or below 7 minutes,simply avoid every enemy you can,make good use of the sprint and you should be fine.


Mop up
After your speed run the only achievements you should need is Unfriendly Fire and Fashionista.You can simply replay any level to acquire more currency to purchase the remaining outfits,as for Unfriendly Fire,you need a total of five thousand kills,you should have most of these kills from simply playing the game,the rest can be grinded out on the level Darque Nights,since the enemies are constantly respawning and you can average anywhere from 2-5 kills in a matter of seconds.

Conclusion
Its a fun platformer,the achievements are straight forward and wont pose too much of a challenge,if you missed any of the achievements you can simply replay any level.




Defeat Acland 20
successfully complete Act 1

Story related,cant be missed.


Defeat the Dreadnaught 20
successfully complete Act 2

Story related,cant be missed.


Nine Lives 10
Die nine times in any one level

Self explanatory,simply find a checkpoint,kill yourself,rinse and repeat 8 more times.


Slide Queen 20
Defeat 100 enemies using slide

To perform a slide hold down and press a while facing an enemy,this is best done from the start of the game,kill every enemy you can using slide,the achievement should pop at the second or third level.



Kitten Power 30
Complete any level without losing health

Best level to get this is the last level since you only have to fight a boss,she'll either start out the level shooting a laser directly at you or shoot down the spikey crystals,whichever she does,hold the left trigger for your shield to avoid taking damage,if she goes for the crystals wait for them to disappear then quickly jump in the direction she has gone,you will then see her drill glowing green,push and hold b to grapple her toward you then hit her with a regular attack,after this she will then drill away half the platform,jump to the block in the middle to avoid falling to your death,repeat this process until she is defeated.


Unfriendly Fire 25
Defeat 5,000 enemies

This should be the last achievement you get,it can take anywhere from 2-4 hours depending on how many enemies you killed during the campaign,best place to do this is the level Darque Nights since enemies constantly respawn,you can just run back and forth through the level and enemies will just keep coming after you or you can stand in any corner near the end of the level in the cave type area and anywhere from 1 to 5 enemies will just keep spawning,if it feels like no more are coming just run around a little bit and they'll start spawning again,don't worry if you die all your kills are saved.


Speedy Kitten 20
Total best level times of 90 minutes or less

For this achievement you need to complete thee entire game in under 90 minutes,to achieve this you need to complete each level in under 7 minutes,familiarize yourself with the levels,avoid every enemy you can and make good use of the sprint.


Weaporisseur 10
Purchase all the Free Blades from Hundert Tonne

You first get access to the merchant on level two,there are a total of three blades to purchase,each one varying in price,to purchase them you have to collect these oddly shaped colored sticks


Fashionista 10
Purchase all the costumes from Hundert Tonne

Same as Weaporisseur,there are a total of 9 outfits only six need to be purchased for the achievement,the first three outfits aren't that expensive,but the last three will require a lot of money,so simply replay any level,collect more money until you have enough.


Loot to Boot 20
Find all the treasure chests in the game

The Kit Fu is Strong in This One 10
Defeat 10 enemies in a row without losing health

Best done on Darque Nights,enemies are constantly respawning and only take one hit to kill,just run through the level and spam the x button.


Invisible Bike 5
Perch on and throw an enemy

To perch and throw an enemy,make sure your stamina gauge is full (the blue circle around your health),jump directly on top of an enemies head while holding the left trigger,you will then flip and throw the enemy thus unlocking thee achievement,as far as i know it can only be done on the red soldiers with guns.

Ya i would appreciate the treasure chests. I have scoured maps for hours to find the last chest i need to no avail. It's not fun anymore.

For the Achievement where you need to beat a level without getting hit i played the level "Acland" it only takes about 3 minutes or so to run through and is probably the easiest level to attain "Kitten Power".

Another option for Kitten Power, though it takes longer, is to reload checkpoints during the same level. Use your shield often, walk carefully, and be sure to avoid long falls. If you see Kit's face change from anything other than her happy face and angry super move face, reload your checkpoint. Level 2 is pretty easy except for the forced fight at the very end, though I ended up doing it on Level 1 instead.

I actually unlocked it on the second level,but in my opinion i find the last level to be the easiest,since its only the boss and no enemies and once you have her moves down,its not to difficult.

Yeah, I was never smart enough to use my shield against the purple spike balls when I played the first time either on the last boss. Definitely would be quicker that way.

Kitten Power achievement is glitched, tried twice through level select, beat the end boss without losing health and didnt unlock. My guess is it has to be done by playing through the whole game from start to end using checkpoints?

I tried it out right now on my dummy account through level select and was still able to unlock the achievement,you must have taken some damage somewhere as your fighting the boss, watch the face and make sure it stays smiling till the end of the fight.

For the 5K kills achievement I left Kit hanging on a wall on the left hand side between the 3rd and final cutscenes (If you see the cutscene of the world looking bright yellow like its about to explode you've gone too far) in Darque Nights and got the achievement in just over an hour. I don't know how many kills I had before doing this grind, but I highly doubt over 2K (I'd played the game about 8 hours getting 125 treasure chests on my own before grinding, thats where all the previous kills came from).

There was a steady stream of enemies spawning and running off the cliff toward me hanging off the wall, dying instantly when they touched the heavy blade (I believe it was named Grengious or something similar). It varied between 1 by itself and 2 at a time.

like i said to the other person,watch the face in the bottom left hand corner and make sure it stays smiling,if it changes during the fight you've taken damage,it is obtainable.

yes it is.What i did is i held LT and stuck to the top walls when she used the laser and the spikes droped, i guess so sparks touched me before i dont know but that worked for me.(on a funny note right after i hit her the last time i fell and died in the bottom grinder BUT the cutscene kicked in and it still gave me the acheivment lol)

Slide Queen and Unfriendly Fire do not unlock for me!!!

Do they have to be with the same Blade, same costume, same level??? Or are there any other specific requirements?

I'm positive, I killed more than enough enemies with slide, and also more than 5000 enemies total..

Im having the same problem getting Power Kitten cheivo. I have done it at least 5 times on the boss level and still nothing.. I am 100% positive that at least two or three attempts had to have been damage-less. I donno if the chievo is just picky on that level or what but its not working.

I've also been having trouble getting the no-hit achievement on the last level--I'm pretty sure I noticed the health bar refilling itself a few notches right when the level starts when using level-select. Maybe this affects it?

For Unfriendly Fire, I found two spots that seemed to amplify the amount of spawns. One being right next to the switch which moves the wooden pole and ignores the barrels. The second being in a little ditch just before the drop to the final part of the level [where it goes dark and your knocked out]

Also, if the final part's kills also count then it's probably quicker to finish the level and re-start it, rather than running from beginning to end. If you use your critical strikes as soon as they power up, you can rack up a lot of kills before they take you down.
