Well I played through Brotherhood and I just feel like it was one of those games that had to fill the gap between Desmond's Ezio and whoever his new acestor will be.
I think they will make one that will be named Assassin's Creed 3 and that will have someone new, while also being Desmond and being with his American captors. After #3 I believe they'll make the final one, anything more than 5 gets to be too much for one story. Then, who knows, maybe the next game will be Subject 16?

Duuuurrr. :P
Kidding. Anyways, it had already been said by one of the developers that Brotherhood was going to be Assassin's Creed 2.5 because, as you said, it was going to bridge the gap between Ezio and whatever AC: III is going to bring us. Still, nice of you to make this thread. Now we don't have to listen to the nonsensical people that don't get that this isn't AC: III, but more or less a gap-filler. Oh, and by the way, they will be making another Assassin's Creed. They have to in order to atleast give some closure to the story.

More I played the more it felt like Brotherhood could be part of what an extended version of what AC2 was meant to be, as Ubisoft said they had to cut content a year in to hit their deadline last year. And the more I look at it its kinda odd to have so much story left out that would have been caught up in AC3, unless they planned Brotherhood before AC2 was even half finished.

Yes it was filler. Yes it only advanced the overall story in minor ways.
But hey, pretty damn good filler wasn't it.

Ezio's story couldn't be told in just one game, there was so much more and this is one of my favourite games of the year.

i don't regret them making a 2.5 i would be very surprised to see the 3rd out in 2011, wed have to be very lucky at best i would guess least 2nd or 3rd quarter of 2012. i assume theres going to be some dlc for brotherhood, i wonder how many there will be however. altho being on a cliff hanger till 2012 would be brutal

Yeah you are right. It's definitely one of the best games this year and easily the best AC game in the series so far... not to mention everyone (for the most part) liked Ezio... you saw him grow from just just a brave guy to the best Assassin known in the AC universe while still maintaining a personality. It's a continuation of the story, it picked up where AC2 left off.. that's what sequels are supposed to do. |

Ha, yeah, it's already been said that there will be an Assassin's Creed III next year. You can look at Assassin's Creed Brotherhood as Assassin's Creed 2.5 or Assassin's Creed II part II, because it's 2x better than Assassin's Creed II! And I thought Assassin's Creed II was one of the best games ever because of the many new additionals they made into the game from Assassin's Creed.
