...of this game being Deal of the Week?

Probably pretty low, I'd guess. But I have not been on XBL that long; do obscurer games like this get any DOTW love, or is it always the games that did well and they want to squeeze more $$$ out of?

Yep, maybe in a few months though. 800 MSP in a pretty decent price for a Cave shooter, I thought it would be sold at 1200 MSP...

Can't wait for the release of Deathsmiles in a few weeks (I hope)

Yep, it came out around July in america. But as I live in Europe atm (like some other shmup fans of this forum), I have to wait until Q1 2011 for the release

Hey, this just came out, so yeah, it won't be DotW sometime soon, although other shumps like Galaga Leigions and Ikaruga have been DotW in the past.

I've got some bad news for you. Typically when a games release date is referred to by quarter they are referring to the fiscal quarter. The fiscal year doesn't end until March 31st, so Q1 2011 is some time in April or later.

As for the original question of this topic. I wouldn't count on this being DotW any time soon but it is certainly possible at some point in the future, stranger things have happened. Regardless, 800MSP ($10) is a great deal for a Cave shooter so I'd recommend picking it up now if you have an desire to get it at all. We need this game to sell a lot so that they will hopefully bring more shmups (be they from Cave or someone else) to XBLA.
