"pistoleer" achievement!! HELP!!!

i have played on EASY, NORMAL and almost done with HARD

I have yet to get the "pistoleer" acheivement

I have played on easy multiple times using ONLY the pistol.

can levels be replayed over and over to acheive this "achievement"???

seems as if I cant get it HELP!! PLEASE!!

I have played the "Shiloh" level maybe 5 times using nothing but the pistol (a lot of ammo here for the pistol)
still cant get it

I've went to a lot of different boards and I'm starting to think that the game's achievement markers aren't right on all copies of the game. I tried redoing multiple stages to get a higher kill count (so fucking easy to see how this works, but I guess there's a lot of idiots out there) and I ended up getting it with less than 700 kills. I know I've killed hundereds of DIFFERENT people on DIFFERENT stages with the pistol but that last one just won't come up. There's got to be a massive problem with the games. 49 out of 50 achievements really pisses me off.

i really dont understand what the problem is with these achievements... i didnt have any problems obtaining any of them...well cept for bull run on hard...that was a BITCH!!! but really the pistol has to be the hardest for you guys... i dont know whats up with this achievement...i think razzles figured it out

I just think that some of the disc don't recognize it, either at all or at the right time. The General one was funny too, getting it well after I had killed 750 in the game but before the scorecard showed it. I've been reading about problems/weird situations all over the place.

yeah i dont like how they made this game. i thought it was okay at first and their achievements just made it even more annoying to play. hard mode pisses me off when every enemy shoots at same time and you die right away

Having problem with this achievement as well. Must have played through 4-5 different levels just using the pistols until I've ran out of bullets but no joy yet.

I've only got this and the knife one to do but I don't want to start the knife one if I'm just gonna have the same problems.

hrm, for the knife you can just wait for them to respawn and swipe them no ammo needed so you can stay there all day......

Is there any way to just erase your game and start from the beginning using your pistol? Probably not though cause that would be too easy.

How did you do it, Bleepster? Just kept doing the missions over again? I've noticed that if you redo a mission, your total kills doesn't go up. I spent hours just killing guys with the pistol until I'm out, finish the mission and redo it. But, my totals don't change. WTF?

I found that the achievement can't be done by doing the same mission over again. It's like the General achievement where you need 750 kills over the different boards. Pistoleer is the same. I did Shiloh, got 63 kills, Fredricksburg, got 20 kills, Cold Harbor, got quite a few, then finished it by doing chicamagua. I'm not sure why it took so long to do, but after doing Shiloh five times in a row with 60 or more kills on each run I just tried other boards and got it in 20 minutes. All on easy.

This worked for me...I had every other achievement but the pistol one and was playing the same level over (Bull Run) and not getting it. I then tried playing through different levels, on easy, and I got the achievement half-way through Shiloh (the 3rd mission i played). So I think the answer is that you need to play different levels getting as many pistol kills as possible, not the same level over and over. Good luck.

Well...I just finished this crappy made game, and am without the Pistoleer and Knife Master achieves. That really pisses me off too, cuz its not like their that hard to get. I guess i'll try deleting my files and start over using just a pistol, and then try it again with only a knife...that sucks!

ah...ha!!! I just got both the achieves. All i did, was go to Antitam...or whatever its called ( the 3rd south mission), and when you get to the end by the cannons, they guys just keep coming at you up the hill. Just DO NOT get on the Cannons. That seems to end the mission after a certain amount of time. As long as you don't get on the cannons guys won't stop comming at you. So i just pulled out my knife and waited for the bastards to pour in. Same thing with the pistol.

I think that what you have to dois re-do missions that you have fewer kills in an up them. check your stats with x and watch the total kills climb. Also even if you die in a level you can still get the kills achys.

If you play on normal or hard there is more enemy density and that helps out too.

how did you get enough ammo for the pistol one on that level i can't find enough ammo for one hundred kills?

i thought these achievements were horribly easy! You guys scared me to thinking it was gonna take FOREVER but it didnt.. i got it while trying to get my 95% on the levels i just smacked them once then shot them in the face or chest so it usually only uses 1 bullet to kill them

Yeah it is pretty stupid when someone shoots you somehow when your inside a house and everyone else is outside. No sense of cover.

I just finished game on hard. Boy did that suck. People do shoot you when it's impossible for them to see you, shooting you through walls and stuff. LAME. That was so ridonculous I almost said F' it and was going to send it back to gamefly. But I soldiered on and beat it pretty fast.

However I'm still pissed as I still have no pistol achievement. I must have got about 400-450 kills with the pistols the first time through on easy, no achievement. Then I erased my game save with the sign in trick so my kills reset. Went and played the first 4 missions of Confederate campaign starting with Bull Run. I counted 141 kills, still no achievement. Just played hard campaign, and although I couldn't use the pistol that much because of difficulty I must've still got at least 100 kills on hard. Still no achievement.

I'm going to try one last time to delete my save game and reset kill count and play first 3 missions over again. I doubt I'll get the damn achievement though. Totally disappointed.

i think ive figured it out. when i was playing through i couldnt get the pistol achievment but i hadnt finished the game. i used my pistol every round but was going for perfect acuracy so i would save and reload. i dont think it registers when u save and reload cuz i stopped doing that. ran through the levels not caring about accuracy and ended up getting the achievement. hope that helps

Yeah, I've been going through on Hard, saving a lot and reloading whenever I miss a shot (hoping for one playthrough) and I'm not getting the pistoleer thingy either. Once I'm done and still don't have it, I'll try the game on Easy without saving and see if that works.

Just a note on Hard(don't know if it applies to other difficulties too):
If you leave the aim-assist or whatever on, it's like CoD2; it aims for their heads, so you can get headshots on people you can't even see. Some enemies seem to take 4 pistol shots (to the body) to kill, and others take 2; but if you hit their heads while they're reloading (the easiest time, since often when they're aiming or firing, the game seems to count it as hitting their arm or something) they will always go down with one shot. As long as they're not shooting the hell out of you through your cover, it's pretty simple... they all have to reload.

DO NOT COMPLETE THE GAME UNLESS YOU ALREADY HAVE PISTOLEER! Your total kills are saved upon completion and WILL NOT change no matter what you do after you beat it. But here's a way to get around it:

Create a temporary trial XBox Live account (the one month kind). Load up the game and start the first level. While in the game, grab a second controller. Press the guide button on the SECOND CONTROLLER so the menu pops. Then, with the FIRST controller, sign in to your normal account.

This will reset all your stats on your normal account but will not mess anything up. I did this myself and it worked fine. Just play through the first 2 or 3 levels and you should get the pistoleer achievement after doing this.

I shot every single soldier I saw.

I may just be an idiot...but yeah pistoleer is my last achievement, and I'm trying to follow what it is you're saying here, but i'm just getting lost when i do it. i press the guide button on the second controller, but then what, it wont let me do anything with the first when thats controller has the guide on.
