Kick Some Brick Through All Six Star Wars™ Movies for the First Time in LEGO® Star Wars™: The Complete Saga
The Award-Winning Videogame Brings Families Together Again, This Time on Even More Next-Generation Consoles
SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – May 24, 2007 – LucasArts and TT Games celebrated today the 30th anniversary of the classic movie series that spans generations with the announcement of LEGO® Star Wars: The Complete Saga. Building on the success of both LEGO Star Wars “block-buster” videogames, each complete with LEGO action and minifigure humor, The Complete Saga enables families to play through the events of all six Star Wars movies in one videogame for the first time ever. Developer Traveller’s Tales takes full advantage of the unique capabilities of all three next-generation consoles, while also adding new characters, new levels and new features. Players can build and battle this fall on the Wii™, PLAYSTATION®3 computer entertainment system and Xbox 360™ videogame system from Microsoft. Traveller’s Tales is also creating an entirely new Nintendo DS™ version, developed brick by brick from the ground up.
According to the NPD Group, domestic sales of the two LEGO Star Wars videogame releases reached nearly 7 million units through March 2007, and LEGO Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy was the No. 3 best-selling title of 2006.
“As we usher in the next generation of videogame consoles, LucasArts is leading the way in family entertainment,” said Jim Ward, president of LucasArts. “We’re proud of the phenomenal success of LEGO Star Wars II and how it delivered all the fun, humor and action of the Original Trilogy to the entire family. Now, with The Complete Saga, we’re excited to finally offer the entire saga playable in one package for the first time ever.”
“LucasArts was an amazing partner on LEGO Star Wars II, and working with them on The Complete Saga continues to be a great experience,” said Tom Stone, director at TT Games. “We’re also thrilled to be focusing on next-generation consoles and creating content that plays to the strength of each system.”
The Complete Saga takes players to the most beautiful LEGO galaxy ever assembled with high-definition graphics on the PLAYSTATION 3 system and Xbox 360. And with both consoles’ online capabilities, families spread across the world can unite to rebuild a galaxy in pieces with cooperative two-player, drop-in/drop-out gameplay. Meanwhile, the unique Wii and Nintendo DS control schemes result in the most interactive LEGO Star Wars gaming experience yet.
From the Trade Federation’s “negotiations” with Obi-Wan Kenobi and Qui-Gon Jinn in The Phantom Menace to the space battle above Endor in Return of the Jedi, The Complete Saga allows players to kick some brick through 36 Story Mode levels, including Episode II’s newly added high-speed pursuit of bounty hunter Zam Wessell. Traveller’s Tales has revamped levels from the original LEGO Star Wars to match the gameplay evolutions found in LEGO Star Wars II, and Prequel Trilogy characters can now be mixed and matched with those from the Original Trilogy – more than 160 in all.

That's pretty cool, but I imagine we'll be redoing some of the same stuff we already did for the other one on the 360 for some of the achievements, which could be pretty lame.
That is some good news, but I hope they are not just adding the first game to the disc with a bigger lobby to run around in. It would not be worth it. Kinda like Marvel:UA where the "new" Gold version just had the extra DLC.
I'm hoping that they will create new levels and not having the "adding new characters, new levels and new features " refering to the just the addition of the original game's material.
But I guess Lego Batman might make up for it though...
Co op online would be fun, i enjoyed the first game so this one will be good. I just hope the achievements are new or like the old game instead of the 100% like bionicle heroes.
Hmmm, it seems as though a lot of the content in previous games will be put into this one. Sounds like they're just after more money, but the developers can't be bothered creating something entirely new, doesn't it?
the thing that i am liking about the achievements is that they can't make you beat every level without dieing, because there would be too many achievements, it would exceed the 50 achievement limit very quickly . I played the first one for about 60 hours and i really liked it and i am planning on renting this and if i have enough money, buying it.
I'm Very Excited about this, I do believe that they are not just adding tiny things here and there, but re-doing graphics, tinkering with changing some of the levels and whatnot but....they can't completely change things as it wouldn't sync up with the movies. I myself will be buying this definatly.

With only playing the 2nd game at the moment, I don't know if i'm gonna get this. The achievements I think will be similar to those in the 2nd game, however not completely. I'm sure there will be one for beating each episode, that is a given. Then I'm sure there will be percentage's added into the mix as well as that goes along with completion of every tidbit. Lego city more than likely so. But i don't see undefeated on each level happenning, perhaps completing each episode undefeated yes and worth more points. That I could see happening. I could also see one for purchasing every item, maybe even every character and vehicle. It all depends though, hopefully I'm right and there are changes that will at least make this game worthwhile for those of us just now getting to the 2nd game...hehe

Call of Duty 3
Gears of War - THIS! IS! ANNEX! (sick of doing split screen, very boring)
Forza 2 - If you're setting something up, I'm in!
Gears of War 2 - Only for Horde
I am definitly going to get this one. Lego Star Wars II is one of my favorite games. They should do achievements for beating the super story undefeated. At least it would be a challenge. Does anyone know when the game is supposed to launch?

This game is not a suprise. First of all, it's Star Wars. Seriously, to be honest, How many times have we played through the star wars stoy?? Now that there is no more Star Wars movies, I predict that we will see many more Star Wars games that just cover the movies and not the expanded universe. Don't get me wrong though. For some reason, I find these Lego Star Wars games fun and relaxing, except for the vehicle achievements on xbox 360. Those ones make me want to pull my hair out. I will most likely buy this game, if not, rent it. I do wonder though if they will just port the same levels that have been made alredy or if they will redo them. I am a Star Wars freak. No matter how many times I have played though the Star Wars story, I keep coming back for more.
Some levels are suppose to be similiar but I heard that they will adding new stuff and redesigning other levels like the pod racing. Should be interesting to see the final product.
I have also heard it was co-op over Live, the first two were hella fun. If the co-op is true i can play w/ my son.

I so loved LSW II. Not only did it have such replayability after you complete the story, but you had a reason to keep playing it over and over. Im glad that they are overhauling the 1st Star Wars as even though its fun, its barren after playing number 2.
maybe the achievements will be like quake 4 having quake 2 in the pack aswell. a seperate list for the different game?
That way i guess they could do the undefeateds though that pod racer mission i can see being a bitch!
Looking forward to this bundle aswell as the afore mentioned Batman, and the not so well known about, Indiana Jones Trilogy!
November 6th, this is great news. It'll be worth the wait. But let's hope that they don't don't make 'undefeated' episodes and if not add an extra 250 points. That would suck seeing as some levels in Lego Star Wars II are 'undefeatable'. Mentionable levels would be the vehicle ones. (That are god awfully frustrating) But again, this is great news! The Online Co-op will obviously be looked forward to.
