"The Kid" achievement video and light world warp zones
Thought I would post my video here so people who are going for it can get a feel for the jumps/timing. Died 529 times going for it haha.
Also if you are having trouble with finding/clearing the light world warp zones here's a compilation of those. Part 1: Part: 2: Once I get around to clearing the dark world warp zones I'll add links to those. I'm also considering making a bandage location/retrieval video... not 100% sure on that yet. Stage 2 and 3 didn't seem that hard. But guess they are, and I can't beat stage 1 so

So you have unlimited lives instead of 3 for every stage like in the other warp levels?

Stage 3 seems ridiculous and impossible when you first actually start it, you will almost definitely die immediately a few times if you have no idea what's going on. Personally, I think it's harder than Stage 2, but it took me less time because the level itself is much shorter, whereas Stage 2 is slow because of the platforms.

Alright! Then it's just a matter of time.
 And since an achievement is waiting at the end of the level(s), I think I can bring up enough motivation to put some effort into it. I really dislike those normal warp zone levels with their 3-lives BS.

Haha, yeah. It took me roughly 45 minutes to complete this warp zone. 15 minutes for the first zone 20 minutes for the second zone and 10 minutes for the third zone.
I kept messing up on the second and third columns of spikes in zone 2. Like, a lot. And yes, I also messed up the same way you did where I jumped and hit the very last spikes on the ceiling and went on tilt for a good couple minutes. Quote:

It's too bad they didn't use the IWBTG music (I understand it comes from other games, so...) cause I was hoping for it to happen. A real shame, I'd of loved to of heard some 'Monty on the Run' again while doing it.

i can pass the first level now but the second level i just cannot get the timing down for avoiding the spikes on the middle two platforms its just too touchy. the third one seems simple enough though with enough tries

I definitely had more trouble with stage 2 and than 3 as well. Those third lot of spikes are a pain. It's hard to see where your feet are so you just have to go as early as possible.
Third stage was easy I thought.

It's 3:30 in the morning. I'm exhausted. And I cleared the first stage only to give up after not getting past the third set of spikes after a 1,000,000 tries...
I don't want to be the guy...

I FINALLY DID IT!! GOD DAMN IT!!!
It took me 2 days... I tried a little bit, I'd left the game paused and my Xbox on for hours =P The second stage was definitely the hardest part. I wanted to destroy my controller on frustration. The first part was kinda hard, the third part was a piece of cake after you get the timing right. |

The first stage was extremely easy.
The second stage is horrible. Third stage was extremely easy as well. Edit: I just did it. Died nearly 800 times, lol. Most of those deaths occured in the second stage. It's definitely doable, but don't think that this is a walk in the park.

Yes did it also now! Frist level took by far the longest! The other two was mostly timing that you got after a awhile. Second level I used the lift as a visual cue in comparison to the spikes and didn't look on anything else.
A tip is regarding the run button. The first level you only need it at the longer jumps at the end, on the second level you only need it for the jump in the middle. But on the last it's good to have all the time!

Got my achievement before, I reached The Kid last night and went insane trying to do the first level, got to the second and though "FO!" tried it again today, died about 5 times on first level, countless times on second and third, happy I never have to do them again! =D

I just unlocked it. My hands are literally numb typing this but here are some tips:
When you're doing the second stage, turn off the audio. Just listen to your thumb move the joystick back and forth, especially on the tight columns going up and down. and for the third, always double jump straight up THEN move forward. God I'm glad I never have to see those stages again.

but I am sad to day I am giving up on The Guy......Level 1 is destroying me.....those stupid columns of spikes are evil....especially since I overcompensate in platformers all the time..... I try to fix my trajectory by a smidge and I get a mile........ugh....I am taking a long ....long...long break (thank god my FO New Vegas gets here tomorrow)

Got this last night after about 600 deaths. As stupid as this sounds these levels arent hard so much as they require absolute perfection. Once you get your timing down it's not too bad.
When I beat the warp I jumped out of my seat, throwing my arms in the air lol. |

Just reached this warp zone earlier today and died about 200 times on the first stage before i gave up. Seemed impossible but you make it look so easy. Watching your video inspired me to go give it another shot. Thanks for the tips everyone!

haha i beat this drunk, first levels not so bad. the second level the timing is a bitch. the third level is fairly easy if you try it enough. anyone can do it if they want to be the kid who wants to be the guy enough
