The Courier Who Broke the Bank (30G)

Get banned from all the Strip's casinos.

In total there are 3 casinos you are going to need to be banned from in order to grab this achievement: Gomorrah Casino, The Tops Casino, and Ultra-Luxe Casino. The strategy for this is quite simple, just very time consuming. You're going to want to grab 1,000 chips from each casino's cashier and head to the blackjack tables. Save a new game file before you sit down. Bet the maximum amount (200 chips in all casinos.) Every time you win (or if you want, set a profit amount) get up and save then sit back down. If you begin to lose, load the save file and try again. Repeat this process until you have reached the ban limit of each of the casinos. Achievement unlocked. Expect anywhere from 30mins to 2hours to get banned from each casino, depending on how lucky you get with your hands.

ALSO NOTE: The higher your character's Luck, the better odds you will have. It is highly recommended to have your Luck to AT LEAST 7 or more before attempting this achievement, as it will cut off a significant amount of time.

Basic Blackjack Strategy:

(For those not very familiar with the game and need some tips)

I tried my best to arrange everything into a readable chart for ease of learning.

2,2|P|P|P| P|P|P|H|H| H|H|

4,4|H|H|H|P|P|H|H|H| H|H|

5,5|D|D|D|D|D|D|D|D| H|H|

6,6|P|P|P| P|P|H|H|H| H|H|

7,7|P|P|P| P|P|P|H|H| H|H|

8,8|ALWAYS SPLIT EIGHTS|

9,9|P|P|P| P|P|S|P|P| S|S|

T,T|ALWAYS STAND ON 20|

A,A| ALWAYS SPLIT ACES |

KEY:

H = Hit

S = Stand

D = Double Down

P = Split

For those who find the chart a bit confusing, here are some basic rules:

- If the dealer is showing a 7-Ace, always hit until you get 17 or higher, then stand.

- If the dealer is showing a 3-6 and you have 13 or higher, stand.

- If you have a 10, always double-down as long as dealer does not show a 10 or Ace.

- If you have 11, always double-down as long as dealer does not show an Ace.

- Always split Aces and 8's; ALWAYS. 12's and 16's are both useless hands for the player.

- The rules for soft-hands (anything with an Ace) can get confusing, so I'll just tell you when to double them. Double A/2's and A/3's whenever dealer shows a 5 or 6. Double A/4's and A/5's if dealer shows 4-6. A/6's and A/7's double if dealer shows 3-6.

- For an easy way to remember the soft hands, just remember that A2/A3 are same, A4/A5 are same, and A6/A7 are same. Then just remember where A2's splits start, and then image a staircase with A2 being the top of the staircase and A7 being the bottom and the progression is 2,3,4 for the staircase. That's what helped me remember those rules.

Follow that simple strategy and you should be just fine.

Gomorrah = You will be banned at 9,000+ chips.

The Tops = You will be banned at 10,000+ chips.

Ultra-Luxe = You will be banned at 15,000+ chips.

Also, I noticed you are only kicked out once you actually get up from the table. So, if you actually wanted to win more than the minimum amount (for whatever reason), you can do so. Just don't get up until you've made as much as you actually want. *Some have stated they've been kicked regardless of getting up or not, so this is not a guarantee with every game.*

I thought I'd also throw in the comp levels for each casino as well.

Gomorrah

2,500+ chips = Brahmin Steak

5,000+ chips = Mentats, Jet, and Wine (2) - thanks to artphobia for clarification here.

7,500+ chips = Reinforced Combat Armor

The Tops

2,500+ chips = Vodka

5,000+ chips = Brahmin Steak and Wine

7,500+ chips = Suite Key

Ultra-Luxe

5,000+ chips = Atomic Cocktail

7,500+ chips = Brahmin Wellington

12,000+ chips = Suite Key

*I'd like to point out a thanks to psychoticpeople for originally pointing out the ban limits for each of the casinos.*

Not true with the Ultra-Luxe, Gomorrah or The Tops. I got a little over the breaking limit on all the strip casinos and they kicked me automatic without having to get up from the table. Very awesome casino guide though. Thank you

Also Gomorrah's 2nd comp is mentats, jet, and 2 wine & 3rd is Combat Armor, Reinforced.

hmmm, I replayed and played up to 13,450 chips profit at Gomorrah and never got banned until I got up from the table. And, yes, you are correct, Jet is included with the perks. I will add that in. Thank you.

Word of advice to all who might be considering not completing this achievement until the end of their playthrough in fear they might not be able to re-enter the casinos. You can get banned and still complete ALL quests. You will only be banned from the games, nothing else.

Great chievo guide... but you cant be banned just shooting the people or something like that??? cause playing that amount of poker games doesnt seem to be very interesting :S

That was the first thing I tried. All shooting everyone will do is kill your karma and reputation with those factions. If you somehow re-gained positive rep with them, you can still play the games, therefore you are never actually banned from them. You must win the listed amounts to be banned. No other way around it has currently been found.

if you raise your luck to 10 isn't it easier to win?

Possibly. I don't know if your luck actually affects how you do at the cards or not, as I'm only at 7 in luck. If any one plays at low luck, and then again at 10 and can confirm that odds increase with better luck, please inform me.

Yeah, but I feel that people who contribute to things should be recognized and get credit for what they contribute. I never like taking credit for something I didn't actually fully discover myself.

And check out the "Infinite Caps Glitch" if you really needs caps. Great way to get all those mods.

200 chips per spin

Which is the same exact max-bet as Blackjack. I would find it much faster to play 1 hand of blackjack, either win or lose, than to place everything down on red or black and wait for it to spin and see if it hits your color. I mean, if you really wanted to press your luck you could probably throw 200 down on 0 and play over and over again and hope to hit it, but time wise I think blackjack is quicker. But, yeah, you could easily do this with Roulette if that's more your game.

It's probably not worth doing just for this achievement, but if you have a 10 Luck character, it becomes very trivial to hit the ban limits. You can double down and win almost every time.

Ah, so your character's luck does actually affect your gambling as well. That is very good to know. Thank you.

I was banned from these 3 casinos but know achievement

This game is still very buggy, so I would say the game screwed you over. Not the first time a game hasn't given a player their rightfully earned achievement. Only thing I can tell you is to revert to an old save and try again. The achievement should pop up as soon as you're banned from the 3rd casino.

Yeah, the Luck has a big impact on your winnings. I were 6 in Luck, equipped my Naughty Sleepwear or whatever, and then I got banned at all casinos in like 45 mins total.

Edit: Naughty Sleepwear gives you +1 in Luck.

That's very good to know. I wouldn't really think a difference of 1 in Luck would change things. Maybe going from 6 to 10. But, from 6 to 7? I had 7 in Luck when I completed this and it still took me roughly over an hour per casino. I'm tempted to exploit the experience glitch to get luck to 10 and try again and see the difference. But, thank you for the information.

That's very odd. It's definitely a bug with your game then. Those are the only 3 casinos you need to be banned from in order for it to unlock. I guess wait until they update it with some more patches, and maybe drop the company an email or something. Don't know what else to tell you.

I didnt receive the suit key at the tops or any prizes at the ultra lux but received all of the prizes at the gommorah, could that of had something to do with it?

Probably. Seems like your game didn't fully recognize the fact you were even gambling at those casinos, hence why it never gave you any prizes. I would say start up a save BEFORE you were banned from any of the casinos and try getting banned from them all over again and see if you get the prizes and the achievement. About the only advice I could give you.
