Known Glitches

I can't even get into the Abandoned BOS Bunker. I deleted the system patch and went in for a skill book then came out and reinstalled the patch, now I lost one of my perks from Old World Blues. I have Dead Money, Old World Blues, and Lonesome Road. I completed lonesome Road and am half way through Old World Blues. I can't get into the bunker or get my perk back. I reformatted my hard drive and reinstalled all 3 addons and this is still a huge problem.

I've had freezes and close to 5 minute loading times. installing the game to the hard drive seemed to make the loading times longer. The more time you spend on the game the longer the load times get. I've taken to clearing the cache every time i play the game and it still has freezes and crashes. I wish bathesda would actually fix this game and start making games where right off the bat they work.

Only one I recall being explicitly blatant is I walked in to the Mojave Outpost bar where Cass sits and I fell through the floor and just kept falling in to nothing, would happen every time I entered. Had to re-load my game to an earlier state.

I've never in my life played a game that freezes more than New Vegas. Now that I have all the DLC installed and I'm playing through everything, I realize that this shoddy POS was rushed way too early to market. It freezes on me, like clockwork, about every hour and a half or so. The worst is if it freezes during a black loading screen between areas, because that's when it's autosaving and it corrupts the save.

Based solely off of this fact, I prefer Fallout 3, Oblivion, Skyrim, Fallout 1, 2 and Tactics to this game. It is maddening to have to deal with that and completely breaks the flow of the game.

I think the Lonesome Road DLC is bugged, I always had some freezing with New Vegas, but it was pretty random, might play all weekend without a single freeze, then I might get on it for just an hour one night and it would freeze. But once I finished Lonesome Road... my god it would freeze, without exception, every time I played, it was game-breaking. I deleted the DLC a week or so ago, and while I haven't really been in the mood to play Fallout (have been other games mostly), it hasn't frozen yet... just hope it stays that way...

Also, I had this same issue with Fallout 3, near constant freezing after installing the DLC, I've since deleted The Pitt and Mothership Zeta and now have almost no freezing (it did freeze once when I was doing some gamesave modding and spawned a few too many Liberty Primes).

One hundred and fifty hours with any major glitch. Last night had my worst experience so far: every time I wanted to buy some things from Vendortron in Gun Runners, just when I hit the "pay" button, the game froze. Later on I found out the reason: there was a "Case Box, 10 mm (2)" which actually was only "Case Box, 10 mm". Therefore, everytime I tried to purchase those supposedly two sets, the game freaked out, until I tried to buy things one by one, and the second "Case Box, 10 mm" disappeared from its inventory right after buying the first one. Boy, these things only happen in Fallout series...

Haha, so true! I was a bit pissed that it froze cause I wanted to see them kill all the Super Mutants at the Mall. :-P Ah well, seeing them rape ten plus Enclave Soldiers (Squad Sigma) and a couple random Talon Company mercs who happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time was good enough.

I was in Vault 19 when the screen went black for a moment, there was a random friendly Great Khan in front of me, then I became invisible. Even by this game's standards that's impressive.

the Vegas EDE stopped existing after i came back from the Divide once, i searched everywhere.

also the Skilled Trait is glitched, you can stack the skill bonus by resetting your skills and re-picking it when you leave Goodsprings and at the Sink Autodoc in Old World Blues. this one will NOT break your game, i have all skills at 100 now and i am not even at lvl45 yet

there is the occasional invincible legionary who freezes my game when i try to melee him, fortunately his character model is locked, he can't hurt nobody.

Does the goodspring glitch still work?

I recently started playing this game again, I have it installed and it has only froze once when I left it paused for 10 minutes. The game wasn't really "frozen", my character was just stuck in place and I couldn't access any menus. The only glitch that is really bothering me is that sometimes when I try using Vats my guy won't do anything and I will just get slowmo killed to death by the enemies. It's pretty hilarious when 5 deathclaws are rushing you in slow motion, and you just have to sit there and wait for the inevitable. And by hilarious I mean only hilarious if I have recently saved, if not, rage quit.

I only skimmed this thread since most of the posts are rather old, but has anyone else experienced this?

I have the same problem with VATS and my guy just standing there doing nothing, which results in getting beat on by enemies. Doesn't happen often, but its still annoying. The weird thing is, I orginally got FO:NV on launch day and do not remember the VATS issue of just ignoring your commands. Long Story short 2 days ago I bought FO:NV ultimate edition & while playing it noticed the random times in VATS my guy doing nothing. What edition of new vegas do you have?

I also bought the game at release, but getting caught up in other games didn't really play it until recently when I bought the ultimate edition with all of the DLC content.

The thing that kills me is that it is such a good game and I really tried to look past the glitches. I also had problems with the game freezing if I left it paused when I went to get water, and sometimes when in a loading screen the screen would just go black.

I put about 75 hours into my play through when I got to the sink and noticed the glitch where you can't deal more than 10,000 caps with the sink unless you wait several days outside the sink in between, this became too tedious, and I ultimately moved on to play Dishonored's DLC and Far Cry 3: Blood dragon.

I do not know if I will be going back to FO:NV even though I really enjoy the game, I am finding the frustration with the glitches to not be worth it.
