i still cannot get this achievement, my game is patched and as someone in the last thread pointed out very rudely the game has been patched and this achievement works, but it isnt unlocking for me. any tips?

Yep, defo still glitched. Just got killed by the little giant playing as Jack in co-op with the missus, no cheev.

She got it straight away in her game but hers also froze the 360 just before the fight.

I'll try it on my own later and see if that makes any difference.

most of my patches i got for different games have glitched.. i had to redownload them a couple times.

Try clearing the cache and then trying again. I got this achievement when the game first came out so I don't think you need the patch to get it.

Same thing happened to me. All you have to do is go back to the dashboard and reload the game. Jack was my default character when I came back into the game and I went directly to that conclusion (boss fight). It worked first try doing this. Just a note, you must be killed by the Little Giant and not the thorns on the side of the level.
