Seriously - set up an HDTV with a PS3 and a 360.
PS3 through HDMI, XBOX 360 through component Put it on split screen and run the burnout demo (free on both consoles) and you will see how good the 360 is in comparison. Give it a try ![]() Peace

Great article - I couldn't agree more than Sony's arrogance and contempt for their customers has contributed to their downfall.
I'm obviously pleased to see the 360 doing well, but I'm even more happy that the Wii is such a success. I can't justify two consoles, but I'm pleased that Nintendo will be around for some time - they really are original and the masters of creating "playable" games. |

I seriously think the PS3 never had a chance just because it came out later. The $600 price tag definitely didn't help either.
The xbox community is so much stronger partly because of Youtube (Machinima) and partly because of Achievements and this site. I got a Wii and I like it, but it isn't a 360. It doesn't have cool features like achievements and the community isn't there. |

Wow, this thread is originally from April 07 guys...
Anyway, one relevant update is that yes, it's been confirmed MGS is coming to 360! FU PS3! Being discussed on these very forums here: http://www.xbox360achievements.org/f...ad.php?t=50385 Edit: Oops! The "confirmed" status has been revoked. My bad for spreading miss information. Last edited by Armstrong x360a; 12-31-2007 at 06:47 AM. |

I've seen many people saying that the PS3 will overtake PS3 in terms of sales. Hmmmmmmmmm..... We'll see. I use NDP for American sales and I use this site for European sales:
http://vgchartz.com/eweekly.php Even though it is not official its accurate. |

excelleny piece minty, i completely agree with you.
i have played some of my friends ps3 and while it was good it lacked something the 360 and wii have in buckets: soul. the 360 and wii have soul and that makes them great consoles, the the ps3 is juat like a piece of german car engineering: functional, mildly pretty but overall boring and too sanitized. It feels like it has no life in it. every time i turn on my 360, i get the whirring and i just know it has just came into life and i know i am in for fun hen i start playing it... Sonys ps2 was the pinncle on how to release a console and make it a success but they let down their ps3 and especially their psp. The psp is a wasted machine that could have been something but it was shoved aside for the ps3 development. WRONG MOVE. |

Wii will win the battle. 360 will be the best. PS3 sucks, that coming from a PS2 & PS1 owner.

I would have to say that the PS3 is the outsider... seems as it's crap and the other two are not.

A dutch tv serie called GameKings said this :
The Xbox360 is the best console of 2007. The Wii suprised them with the games that came out. The PS3 was a bit crap there were some good games only the online was fucked up somethimes. The only good game was Ratchet and clank.

The PS3 being called crap I've come to expect from this site. But saying the other two aren't crap. Seriously? Have you got a wii? It's trash. I loved my wii for the first month, I completed Zelda and then got bored of it, very bored of it. I still own it because the last time I sold a console (Gamecube) I regretted it and bought another one almost straight away. |

Wii and 360. The best duo in any home entertainment center.

As bad as Sony's decisions have been, I think their console will pull through and wind up performing just fine. I really wouldn't be surprised if it outsells the other two in a year or two.
Now I'm not saying this because I love the PS3. I own other Sony systems sure (PS1, PS2, and the finally seeming to be worth the investment PSP), but I made a conscientious decision not to buy a PS3. As noted above, the well developed community aspects of the 360 (and the fact that most exclusive games were going multi platform) swayed my decision toward the X360. Now why would the PS3 come from behind to maybe outsell the others though? My true belief is Blu-Ray supposedly winning the format war has a lot to do with this. I know, as a gamer, when I'm ready to buy a next gen DVD player, I'll probably buy a PS3 because, by that point, it probably won't be that much more expensive than a stand alone and I'll get the added bonus of the PS3 to PSP content and playing MGS IV. :P I'm probably not the only person with this mindset too. As for the Wii, I agree with twelve. The first little bit with it was awesome. To me, however, it's been so exposed as a gimmick that I just can't find much to do with it. I mean, basically... we all spent $250 for a neat controller. Most of the really amazing games on the system (Twilight Princess, Mario Galaxy) would be just wonderful without the Wiimote functionality. Those games which use the Wiimote that are fun are either a collection of mini-games which lack real substance, though they are fun for a little bit (such as Wario Ware) or they are fantastic games which are routinely overlooked and thus will likely not get their publisher's attention in making more games of that style (Zak and Wiki). Don't get me wrong. I'm not bashing on Nintendo. They did a great job with marketing their system and appealing to games' greatest untapped resuorce: non-gamers. I just find that, save for a couple of stand out titles, most of the stuff on the system is either two short or just boring. That being said, I like the fact that the market is as it is now. Gives us, the gamers, tons of choices to find something that best fits our individual tastes. Also, hopefully, it makes developers work to develop better products because alot more is on the line if a game really falls flat. Alright, sorry about going on so long. I'll stop now. ^^ |

I'd prefer buying a ps3 compared to a wii after playing both at a mates.
Wii was to childish and the replay value was low for me, Ps3 just was a bit better imo BUT 360 ALL THE WAY!!

the ps3 is 400$, and the 360 is around 350$ with the wii at 250$, i dont see how that works anymore whoever says it will never be possible. Also the ps3 comes with a built in blu-ray player while the hd-dvd (which hd just lost WB and is going to die out due to it being the most of the sales), costs 180$ seperate. I have a 360 and play it because its what my friends have, but i use the ps3 more due to bluray's and im sure plenty of good games will eventually come out whenever the ps2 finally ends, sure doing good sales still from that.
The Wii is also complete trash, it has the absolute worst games come out lately and sold mine a while ago just for some cheap credit towards the ps3. |

I like the 360 the best, but the Wii will make the most sales. It is the cheapest, which appeals to parents buying a console for their little children.

I personlly have all 3 systems. My first two choises are the Xbox 360 and the Wii. I rarely play my PS3, but I do use it for my Blu-Ray player. The 360 is by far the best system, as we all know. The Wii has some good games, but they are all made by Nintendo. It seems that all 3rd party games on the Wii suck. Like it has been said in this thread, The 360 has a soul, while the Wii and PS3 do not.

Also the big exclusives for 360 (Gears and Halo 3) really don't do it for me. Bioshock, Crackdown etc were brilliant games but unfortunately have got old and no longer hook me to the system. PGR4 and Forza 2 pull me back in occasionally but they rarely hold my attention for very long anymore. All other games are multi platform (or don't interest me) so I can go either way with them. Before achievements would've been a factor that swayed me to 360 but since falling in love with PS3 I no longer care for them so much. Most games have objectives and unlockable content on them for PS3 that keep me playing more than GS kept me playing. |

Don't get me wrong. I love my PS3. I just got Rachet and Clank: Future and Resistance: Fall of Man. I have not played them yet, but I have heard that they are very good. I have heard that Drake's Fortune is good too. What I am trying to say is that the online community for the 360 is much better than PS3 and Wii have. I think that having that community gives the system soul. Times are changing and it takes more than good games to make a good system. Now that we live in the online era, a good online community will really help a console to become alive. I bet that once "Home" comes out for PS3, it will help that system get some more life. I am looking forward to future games for the PS3 like Final Fantasy XIII, Gran Turismo V and Metal Gear Solid.

I prefer my PS3 online community far more than my 360. I play my 360 offline a lot of the time (which explains my achievements without timestamps) because I just don't feel the need to be online all the time.
With PS3 i power up, go into group chat for 10-15mins and then go onto play some games. I've never done that on 360 and probably never will. As for Home I couldn't care less, yeah it'll be fun but it wont change my experience all too much. |

I wish that I hadn't jumped the gun on buying my PS3.
I was a huge PS2 fan, and that won out for me over the original XBox. I loved my 360 when I got it but then I heard DMC4 was a PS exclusive, and heard it would be released by October of last year...so I was one of those idiots that bought the 60 GB PS3 for $800 just to play Resistance: Fall of Man until the exclusives started coming in. Then, my PS3 started erasing all of it's data by itself, all the dates were pushed back and DMC4 became shared with the 360. The day I heard that my PS3 was gone back to EB Games. The only thing I want to play is Ratchet and Clank, but not bad enough. I still have my Wii...I haven't played it in probably about 10 months. The controller just becomes so tiresome and frusterating after a while. I do believe the 360 will stay on top, and that's coming from someone who originally had no interest in the XBox. If the PS3 gets more exclusives and maybe something addicting like the 360 achievements, it may push through due to it's large hard drive and Blue Ray system. |

I was a lifelong PS fan until i saw halo for xbox. I switched codes and have not regretted it since. I am slightly tempted by gran turismo 5 and metal gear solid, but not enough that i would go out and invest in george foreman grill look-a-like console

Just like with the X-Box, I backed the Xbox360 from Launch. It's had some problems but it's hands down my favorite console since maybe N64/Dreamcast. And the thing with Microsoft having a system is they have so much money to throw at it to get into the console wars/gaming market. I had a Wii and I enjoyed it but other then party wise (when i had friends over) I wouldn't play it much by myself other then Twilight. 360 is great and it seems like all the really great games come out as 360 exclusives. *CHEERS TO MICROSOFT*

I must confess, i am an owner of a PS2. Yes, please don't egg my house lol. I seriosuly thought i would stick with PS3 and pay out on Xbox fanboys for another few years but the 360 has won me over for a few reasons.
~Cheaper Pricetag - Let's be honest, it really does matter ![]() ~Graphics - It's funny how the standard HD component adds so much more to the games, it almost completely makes up for the PS3's brute processing power. ~Xbox Live and Achievements - These are probably the reasons why i love 360, it's jsut so much fun playing a game trying to reach a goal, its like the oldskool videogame arcades where you tried to get your name up on the High Score list lol. Adding to that Sony's pain in the ass marketing and PS3's slight lack of 'strong' unique games made it an easy choice.

Well since I have all 3 systems in my house. 2 of which I own personally (being the 360 and PS3)
I can honestly say the PS3 is my fav out of the 3, Although I do play my 360 more. I can do alot with my PS3, Yeah I have a computer in the house, but having a Internet broweser in the system is a + for me, since the computer is shared between 3 people. Although I can't visit a lot of sites on the Browser on the PS3, I can visit the main ones I go to so in the end it works out for me. the ablity to play PS1 and 2 games is a hugh plus for me, sure the 360 can play xbox games, but considering I own 75+ PS2 games, 10 PS1 games, and only about 12 Xbox games. The PS3 gets a nudge over the 360. The blu-ray player, At first i wasn't to into it, but once I started investing in blu-ray movies I was shocked as to how much better they are. Now every movie that comes out, if there is a blu ray version of it, I will gladly pay the $30 for it. But in the end, I find all 3 systems are amazing in there own way. Though all the constant flameing all the fanyboys do, make me sad as a gamer I still enjoy games. but thats my 2 cents |

I use the 360 for practically all my games and multiplayer stuff. The PS3 is way better for movies, photo slideshows and music etc.
The 360 has too many limits for that sort of thing. Such as it can only read a maximum of 100 songs from my USB stick and wont show pohotos unless i connect it to my pc which is kind of pointless. Gaming wise the 360 wins hands down because of the community and the fact that nearly everyone u play against has a headset. On the PS3 when I play COD4 I'm lucky if 1 person out of the whole group has a headset and I'm even luckier if they speak English. Sometimes I hate living in Europe. ![]() The DIVX player, card readers and ability to upgrade harddrives for storing videos and music on the ps3 though makes it win hands down on that front. I don't have a wii so I'm not sure about it yet. |

I own a 360 and a Wii and I spent a few months living in an apartment where my roomate had a ps3. Before the nex gen boom though, I had stayed close with all three systems, I owned a ps2, an xbox, and a gamecube. yes a gamecube. I valued the ps2 for the final fantasy series, the xbox for halo, and the gamecube for anything mario. the first nex gen system I got was the wii, and zelda was awesome, and it was inventive, but beyond that I couldn't really find much substance. I got my 360 last year, and it really was going to be either the 360 or the ps3, since I actually would have spent about the same on both. I went with the 360 and i have not looked back. Personally I think achievements push it way ahead of ps3. they give me more reason to play games to their full potential, instead of just finishing them quickly as i used to do in the past. I know i'm just repeating everyone else when I talk about how much more enjoyable the online gaming experience is with the 360, so I wont even go into that. The only thing I miss is of course Final Fantasy...and who knows, maybe I'll end up buying a ps3 just for that franchise
. 360 is definitely on a different level from the rest though, in my humble opinion at least.

I have the Wii60. The Wii we got in Sep for my son,8,but to tell the truth he plays the 360 probably more. He really is not in to them 2 much anyway. But to me the combo gives you everything you want Resident Evil 4 was worth it all by itself and there is alot of gamecube games I would like to play i.e. the other Resident Evil's. Granted no one is going to be playing GC games in the near future, but was it not nice for Nintendo to look out for their gamers, full backward compatability and you can actually use the old GC controllers, that was too cool. Nothing could touch my 360 though I have always been an Xbox guy and I'm not sure why. The games the achievements and with Xbox live they are on a roll.
