Talking 1000gs Tips and Review

Firsty want to say this is a great game, enjoyable laugh that steers clear of the normal movie generica of games. Very user friendly for completionists. Well done Disney (for once )

For those wondering, i would say it conforms to the 12 -16 hours thats stated in the guide, as has taken me over 4 days to complete, playing for a bit some times, others more than 6hours :P ITS ADDICTIVE!!
Only a small amount of grind for Pict-O-Master and Gold Super Star.
So its not the quickest of games to complete, but definately one of the most enjoyable for a long while.

A very versitile and varied game with 2 modes. Story mode which losely follows film, with a few collectables ( 15 per level?) but most you will find without a guide, and are along the mission path.
And ToyBox mode, that is combination of a sandbox town, with loads of missions, collectables, races, and customisation options. Think GTA meets the Sims, meets Borderlands? Anyway, give you plenty for your money.
A greater length of a game than most kids games, with a little bit of grind at the end. Its a good game for just messing about in, as spent alot of time doing the optional racing, some of which are very chalenging, as well as having silly fun on the skate park, using goo to change things sizes, throwing ppl in jail, customising to makebunny corpse aliens, pirate clowns, afro cyborg ninjas, and generaly kicking ppl around

TIPS
-----
=====STORY MODE====
OK, firsty for the Story mode, stop reading and goto HERE for ScrapDaddys guide.
StoryMode is quickly over, so dont worry too much if u miss something, as u can quickly hop back into the level and grab which ever item you have missed.

There's cheevos for each lvl, as well as collectables cheevos, but try for No Toy Left Behind Smash boxes with Y, just destroy everything on level 1.
Space Ranger Elite on mission 3, which is basicly dont die.
Mission 4 True Carny Gold on all 3 events given by toys. You only need to complete the Alien Alley Throw, ie = 98 aliens, but to get all items, you need to get 100. Just hold down the button, and know the aliens routes.
We can rebuild him are Zurgs parts that are also easily found on the level.
Sneaky Sneaky mission 6, Dont get spotted by the lights, use jessie on the right first, switch to woody for the left parts. Can also switch to Buzz to locate where he is.

=====TOYBOX MODE====

Just start playing. Missions are fun, dont worry about missing stuff!!
If a capsules on your path, pick it up!
I explored and took my time. At the end i was missing only a few things. Best way to find out, use the Toy Box Collectables Check list, either found on this site or on this massive guide HERE by ScrapDaddy, who has done a crazy friggin awesome job of listing every item, and how to find them. I was only missing 2 items at the end of the game, before i had to look them up!!
I have to say though, i would just play, and not worry about going step by step through the guide unless you really are useless at games. I did the game by myself TILL i found myself with what looked like nothing else to do, with one Gold Star remaining.

One thing i need to say though, DO NOT just count the items in your store to find out which you are missing! I had input the preorder code for the 'Sports Pack' which give your more items. So some of the items are not present on ScrapDaddys list, so you may think you have an item when you dont!

Sport pack items seem to be:
Towns People:
Hats:
Teal Head Band
Hair:
Blonde version of Gray Hair
Outfit:
Yellow sports vest with a blue star
Aliens:
Hats:
Bike Helmet
Outfit:
Football top
Buildings:
Walls:
Green football/Rugby pitch
Windows:
Red and Yellow
Doors:
Red and Yellow

=====[[[[ EASILY MISSED CAPSULES!]]]]=====
Anyway, here is a list of the capsules i think you will be most likely missing.
Dont forget the weopons you unlock in each themed area open up various boxes in Woody's town, for several capsules.

----In Stunt Park
Monsters Inc Tentacles (CP223) - Building Sides
"Opening on the right of Buttercup.... Speed up the dirt hill on the right...Come to a complete stop and pan the camera to the left. You’ll see that you can drive over the tops of the arches so drive over the one on the left and turn right at the end. Follow the path around and on the top of the other arch is (CP223) Monsters Inc Tentacles."

Hot Rod Doors (CP227) - Checkered flag door
"Stick to the right and you will come to a big dirt ramp that is sort of "U" shaped and up in the hair in the middle is (CP226) Porthole Doors. When you land turn around and go back to the "U" shaped ramp. Slowly drive up the right hand side and you will land on some orange rocks by a wooden lamp post just ahead over the hill is (CP227) Hot Rod Doors. "

----Sids Haunted House
Scary Zombie Outfit (CP145) - Alien
"Go back outside and run past Rex and the front of the house where you will find a fresh grave. Press "X" to dig it up for (CP145) Scary Zombie Outfit"

Poltergeist Outfit (CP157) - Alien
Next, in the Haunted Mansion after opening heading through the door that opened up when you grabbed the final key, destroy the gargoyle and jump over the first gap. Stop here and turn to the wall on the right, grab the handle press and hold "X" then push it all the way back for (CP157) oltergeist Outfit.

----Town
Goo Walls (CP249)
You might have noticed the capsule at the very top of town hall. The
easiest way to get it is to go to the back of the hat shop (it’s the building
by the store) and press the button in the back wall. Then quickly run around to the front of the hat shop to see that the sign has dropped enough for you to grab it. Pull yourself up and it will launch you through the air right to the capsule.

=====[QUICK GOLD STARS]=====
Heres a few i was missing at the end. Theres also a few for tricks but are easily explained. Also just experiment, chuck everything in the well, and use goo on objects. Any others that you still need, please take a look at ScrapDaddys guide, as it lists ALL

12) Cow Tipper
You’ve shoulder charged 10 cows
If you've forgot, a shoulder charge is performed by pressing "Y" while moving.

14) Demolitions Expert
You’ve startled 20 townspeople with TNT
Go to town, grab a barrel and toss it into a crowd. You should only need 4 or 5 tosses.

18) Engine City
You’ve customized 5 buildings with the engine roof
You should find this prize capsule in the "ramp races" portion of the stunt
track. Once you have it, just stand out front of the building and press "X"
to open the customize screen. You are looking for the icon that looks like
a head over a roof and it will only light up on buildings that you can roof
mount objects. Once you find the suitable buildings just select the chrome
engine object from the list.

23) Grow Your Own Gold
You’ve grown and mined a gold vein.
You will have probally over looked this. After you purchase and build the Goo object for $2500, hit the button on the green side and out comes the green goo. Now find the closest gold vein on the ground and throw the goo at it. Hit "X" to mine with the pick.

46) Master Painter
You’ve painted 19 buildings

49) Master Re-animator
You’ve created 10 zombie townspeople
Once you have the capsules for the 2 zombies, make yourself an army of them out of the townspeople.

55) Moving Target
You’ve landed a Paratrooper on the stagecoach -- Easist to do when you are told that the Stagecoach is late. Instead of dealing with the bandits, climb up the cliff on the left up to the Paratrooper and just paraglide to the stationary stagecoach

65) Porcupine
You’ve been hit by a cactus 10 times
Find a cactus with a spring at its base and then shoulder charge with "Y".
Stand there and let it snap back and hit you. Repeat.

93) Totally Interactive
You’ve pressed every button on every building
The required buildings are:
Barber Shop
Town Hall
Sawmill
Flower Shop - AT TOP
Hat Shop
Newspaper
Saloon
Bank - RIGHT AT THE TOP, on a counter
Tailor
Blacksmith
Candy Shop - AT TOP, will also give u alot of capsules, keep doing it, even if it stops. Eventually (10+) will give u ONLY coins.
School - AT TOP
Hotel
Post Office
Muffin Shop

95) Triple Flusher
You’ve flushed the outhouse 3 times
As you enter Sid's area, the outhouse is the blue building on the left side
of the house, a little past the crypt entrance. Find the switch and press it
3 times.

There are still other missions to run around and do, another guy in Boo Peeps area will give you more photo missions and you can go try all the different horse and car races if you like. Don’t forget about the Teeny Racer that we unlocked as it also has a couple of races. These tasks are all OPTIONAL though.

Hope it helps!! And to reiterate, alot of this content comes from ScrapDaddys guides, and no i dont know him, but amazed by how much work he must of done to catalog everything in the game!!
