From what I have read in the new GI and from the internet it looks like this game will not be out until March '08 at earliest and will probably not be worked on until other issues have been cleared up. From what I read it looks like things are falling apart between EA, New Line, and the Tolkien people. I have also heard rumors that there will possibly be no continuation in the series of movies or Peter Jackson will not be doing them at least, due to a discrepancy in the royalties from the last three.

I'm guessing you mean the prequel The Hobbit, because there are no more movies in the LOTR series to be adapted.

You are correct sir I'm corrected by my friends all the time for this because I refer to it (The Hobbit) as part of the LOTR series I know it's not but it makes it easier for me lol sorry for the confusion

I had heard this one was canceled. Hopefully its just delayed because being the giant dork that i am i love anything Lotr and star wars related.

Well looks like the game could be back on track soon as it seems new line wants to patch things up with Peter Jackson to get the hobbit made and Ian Mckellen seems to ony want to reprise Gandalf if Jackson does it.
