Weird Effect on CRT Screen

I'm still rocking an old-school 20" CRT with component inputs (so it's not *too* bad. However, with both Pac-Man and Mrs. Pac-Man, I get this weird color glitch of some sort where the sides turn very pale and off-color. My screen will continue to look like this for a few minutes even after I exit either game or turn off the TV.

Does anyone else have this problem? Does this exist on HDTV's as well? Just curious, really.

The problem is most noticeable during the "cut-scenes" such as the ghost chasing Pac-Man around before getting stuck on that dot. You can clearly watch everything change colors as they go across the screen.

Irritating.

Damn. 28 views and no one else has encountered this problem? Damn. Maybe it's time for a new TV.
