Overview:

-Estimated achievement difficulty: 3/10

-Offline: 40 (1000http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.jpg)

-Online: 0

-Approximate amount of time to 1000http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.jpg: (7-8 Hours)

-Minimum number of playthroughs needed: 1 (and Tides Challenge)

-Number of missable achievements: 3 (Collectibles, 2 boss encounters where you can't lose health).

-Do cheat codes disable achievements? No

-Does difficulty affect achievements? 1 (Secret achievement requires you to be playing on normal and changing to easy).

-Glitchy achievements: Collectible achievement and Experience seem to glitch randomly for some poeple, at different points of the game.

-Unobtainable achievements: None

-Extra equipment needed?Uplay menu has a few rewards. You can gain 2 extra upgrades (use near end of game or after). Also you can buy the time trials if you want to have a little change while grinding out the last of your experience.

Introduction:

This is a very easy 1000, only challenging you to beat 2 boss battles without being hit, and finding all collectibles in one playthrough. You will only have one autosave, and a backup autosave you can only access by deleting your main autosave. It would be a good idea to have a backup on your memory card as well, before the boss battles. Once you get to the said battles, quit out and copy your save to another device. You can do this every time you get a collectible if you want to be safe.

Step 1: Play the campaign

First you have to play the campaign before you can unlock the Tides Challenge. Play through, gaining all collectible and combat oriented achievements. I highly suggest that when you upgrade, you upgrade health, Stone Armor, and sword damage first. Check the guide for videos and collectible information. There are no actual levels, just checkpoints and area names. You cannot replay any area unless you complete the game again. Remember Untouchable an Invincible are misable. For Untouchable I would suggest once getting to the boss and seeing a checkpoint, dashboard out and copy your save to a memory card or USB. The last boss encounter, even if you mess up, is very easy to retry. After you finish the game you can continue from your last checkpoint to try again. See guide for more details.

Note: If for some reason you passed a collectible and cannot return back to get it, the game has a backup save. I would suggest putting your normal autosave on a memory card just in case before doing this. Delete your autosave, and your backupsave will kick in when you load the game. Normally you will be a few checkpoints before the current auto save.

Tips (The Basics)

-Learn your controls, and remember them. Never hit :abut: while running on a wall unless you want to jump in the opposite direction. This is extremely hard to get used to, but failure to follow will result in loading a last checkpoint or rewinding time. Pressing :abut: while on a wall will never make you jump forward. Just keep wall running to get to the next point! When you have the freeze water power, or the power that lets you retrieve environment that's gone, memorize what buttons they are! You will later be asked to switch beteween these two buttons on the fly (literally).

-Always remember your new powers. If you are having problems, refer to your last learnt power as you may have forgotten about it. This is especially true when gaining the power of flight. You'll think a jump is too big, but look for the enemy that you can dash to by hitting :bbut:.

-Not all water is frozen for you to climb. There are a few puzzles that you must freeze water, but not for you to jump on. One such puzzle has you freeze water on a switch to keep it down. Another with statues and broken staffs they are holding, require you to freeze a fountain to use while turning them seperate pieces of the statue.

-Only use the Power of Time or the Stone armor power. Using the other powers after you gain the achievements are a complete waste of energy. Your sword can more than handle all enemies. Save the energy in case you mess up on a jump so you don't have to keep playing a section over.

-Charged attack groups of enemies. When there are a lot enemies on screen, let them all come towards you while you have the :xbut: held down. Let go when they get near and you'll kill a lot of them at once.

-Kill summoners first. Some areas of the game will have a summoner. They will keep raising dead army enemies to fight you. If you don't kill them, they will keep spawning enemies that don't even give you experience points.

-Balance reloading your checkpoints. Do not reload your checkpoints because you want a specific achievement (unless you know it's a great spot to get specific ones). All your doing is wasting tons of time! You will be fighting a lot of enemies in the game, 50 enemis are nothing to reload over. Reloading erases all experience, even if you upgraded! You will get tons of oppurtunity just by playing the game, for all combat related achievements (even the Titans, which you will be facing multiple times in the challenge mode). If you refrain from reloading checkpoints over and over to get achievements, you should save yourself at least an hour of time.

Step 2: Tides Challenge and Finishing Your Upgrades

Before playing this, you may want to go to Uplay (in the main menu) and buy the experience boost. This will only save you around 10 minutes of gameplay, but you might as well if you have no other need for Uplay. All of your last upgrades will be 300 experience, and playing the Tides should get you about 1 and a half upgrades a try. You can beat the challenge in about 5 minutes. Also in Uplay, you may buy the Time Trials if you'd like to play a different mode to grind out the rest. It should give you more experience as well.

Conclusion:

This game shouldn't give you much trouble. Some inexperienced players (with acrobatic puzzles and gameplay) may find this a bit more challenging, especially in later areas. If you need a full walkthrough , you can google Prince of Persia Forgotten Sands Guide (or Walkthrough). You will find one site (here) that will do videos for the whole game, but I never suggest watching a video walkthrough. All it does is cost you time (possibly double the time since you have to watch someone do something, then do it yourself). You should be able to figure everything out on your own, if you just think about what needs to be done. Worst case scenario, find the end of your destination, and backtrack with your camera to find where your course of travel starts.

Combat Achievements

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1250/+Jdf1A==.jpgSand Nemesis 30 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.jpg

Kill 50 enemies in a row without being hit and without using upgrade powers or the Power of Time.

You might get this without trying. The only enemies that count for this, are the ones you get experience from. You cannot keep killing summoned (from mages) enemies, or ones that reappear when you don't move to the next checkpoint. Rolling away always helps if you see an enemy winding up for an attack. Near the end of the game you will get an extremely powerful sword. Almost all enemies die in just one or two hits. This gives you ample oppurtunity to gain the achievement, especially on your final climb to the boss where there are tons and tons of enemies spawning as you go up some winding stairs. If you don't have it by the time you beat the game, you may try it in the Tides Challenge or Time trials (if you bought it from Uplay).

*If you're having an extremely hard time with this, and you can barely make it through the game on easy, then what you may want to do is find a checkpoint with very few enemies ahead of it and kill them, then reload checkpoint. Do this until you have it. But remember, this achievement is extremely easy, especially if you wait until the end of the game where your sword is overpowered.

Note: The Stone Armor Power cannot be used to get this achievement.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1250/+Jdf1A==.jpgAnd King of Blades 20 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.jpg

Kill 500 enemies with the sword.

You will get this through normal progression of the game! There is no need to grind these out or reload checkpoints. This will come along the way, fairly early on maybe about midpoint in the game or so. You just can't use powers for kills. You probably won't be using the powers much in the game anyways.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1250/+Jdf1A==.jpgLike Dominoes 15 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.jpg

Knock down 5 enemies with one kick.

To kick an enemy, hit :ybut:. Find a spot where there are tons of enemies, and kick one into the rest. This is a very easy achievement and you might even get it without trying. Later in the game there are several places where a simple kick will get you the achievement.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1250/+Jdf1A==.jpgAir Time15 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.jpg

Perform 20 Aerial Slash attacks.

To perform an Aerial Slash, jump on an enemy, and hit :xbut: to perform this attack. Do this 20 times. These attacks cannot be used against shielded enemies.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1250/+Jdf1A==.jpgDeath from Above 30 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.jpg

Finish off 10 enemies in a row using only the Aerial Slash.

Jump on an enemy, and then hit :xbut:. You must perform this 10 times in a row, killing the enemy. This will not work on shielded enemies, so try to avoid attempting this when they are near.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1250/+Jdf1A==.jpgDavid and Goliath 15 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.jpg

Finish 5 titans with the Aerial Slash.

The Titans will not appear until late in the game. There are enough Titans to get this if you do it on every one you see, but if you don't have it by the end of the game, load up the Tides Challenge and on wave 8 you will see one. They will fall to one knee after they get to half of their life. It is extremely awkward trying to jump on them, but it will eventually let you. Once you are on him the game takes over the movements, and you must hit :xbut: to perform the Aerial Slash before it's too late. Doing this without pressing the button fast enough will result in you falling to the floor. If you are worried about timing it, just keep pressing it until it happens after you are on top of him.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1250/+Jdf1A==.jpgAnd stay down! 15 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.jpg

Use the finishing lunge 20 times.

This move normally happens without you trying. It is when the game takes over for a second, and you do a special move to kill an enemy. You'll probably get this with normal play, but if somehow you don't, the best way to get it is against a shielded opponont by hitting :ybut: and then :xbut: when they are stunned. You can also use the Whirlwind attack if you have it, and hit :xbut: on the enemies that are on the ground.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1250/+Jdf1A==.jpgThis is Persia! 20 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.jpg

Kick 20 enemies off of ledges.

If you hit :ybut: near an enemy, it will kick or push him. Do this by a ledge 20 times. The enemy must fall off the ledge for this to count. It doesn't have to be from very high, it just has to be enough so that when they land, the result is them on the ground. You should get this very fast if you focus on it whenever there are enemies and ledges.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1250/+Jdf1A==.jpgAttack from all angles 15 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.jpg

Knock down 15 enemies using the aerial kick.

This is a lot like an Aerial Attack. When you jump on an enemy, press :ybut: to do an Aerial Kick. Repeat 15 times. This cannot be used against shielded enemies.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1250/+Jdf1A==.jpgSwift as the Wind 15 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.jpg

Defeat 30 enemies using the Power of Flight.

I would almost consider this story related. You get this pretty late in the game. It's a power that enables you to dash/fly towards in enemy while you are in mid air. After you gain this power, while in mid air, hit :bbut:. You will instantly kill the enemy. There are a lot of times you have to use this power to finish an area. You must get this in story mode, as it is not availalbe elsewhere. The Power of Flight can be used on enemies that are walking on the ground too, as long as you have enough distance inbetween when you jump.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1250/+Jdf1A==.jpgBig Finish 10 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.jpg

Defeat an enemy by doing a power attack on the fifth hit in a combo.

You will have to actually try for this one, as it's not explained to you, nor is it actually part of a combo. Hit :xbut: 4 times, and then hold :xbut:. Once it glows, instantly let go.. It's best used on a group of weaker enemies. Make sure every attack actually hits. The attacks don't have to all be performed on the same enemy, as they normally die before you can execute the 5th hit.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1250/+Jdf1A==.jpgPrince of Fire 15 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.jpg

Defeat 50 enemies using the Flame Trail.

The Flame Trail power is the third upgrade on the left side of the upgrade menu. You must purchase this with experience before you can use it. Once you gain it, you can use it by pressing :dright: as long as you have a glowing sphere in your energy slots. This power sets a trail of fire markings (glowing red). Enemies get injured upon walking on it. You do not have to kill an enemy using the trail itself, but have to have it activated upon an enemy death (with the Flame Trail or with the sword).

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1250/+Jdf1A==.jpgPrince of Earth 15 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.jpg

Defeat 50 enemies while using the Stone Armor.

The Stone Armor power is the second upgrade on the left side of the upgrade menu. You must purchase this with experience before you can use it. Once you gain it, you can use it by pressing :dup: as long as you have a glowing sphere in your energy slots. This power makes you invincible from getting damaged. It will not hurt enemies, so you will have to attack and kill them while it is active in order for these to count.

Defeat 50 enemies using the Ice Blast.

The Ice Blast power is the third upgrade on the right side of the upgrade menu. You must purchase this with experience before you can use it. Once you gain it, you can use it by pressing :dleft: as long as you have a glowing sphere in your energy slots. As you attack with it activated, it will send trails of ice which injure enemies. Kills will count with the Ice Blast itself, as well as deaths caused by your sword.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1250/+Jdf1A==.jpgPrince of Wind 15 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.jpg

Defeat 50 enemies using the Whirlwind.

The Whirlwind power is the second upgrade on the right side of the upgrade menu. You must purchase this with experience before you can use it. Once you gain it, you can use it by pressing :ddown: as long as you have a glowing sphere in your energy slots. Unlike the other powers, this one knocks enemies to the ground and can kill them if the enemy is weak. Until it is later upgraded to an actual whirlwind, you cannot physically attack enemies with your sword while it's active.

Acrobatic Type Achievements

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1250/+Jdf1A==.jpg Floors are for losers 15 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.jpg

Wall run for a total of 1/2 mile (805 meters).

You will gain this through normal progression, getting it very early on in the game. A wall run is performed by holding :rtbut:.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1250/+Jdf1A==.jpg Stay Dry 30 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.jpg

Move on solidified water for 1 minute without using the Power of Time.

You will gain the power to solidify water during your progression of the game. You do this by hitting and holding :ltbut:. There are many areas you can get this. You must not hit the ground, but you can release the :ltbut: to gain your energy back while in mid air, then hold it again as you are about to hit the water. Pick a spot that has two water chutes and swing from one to another until you get the achivement. Make sure you let go inbetween the jump to gain energy back. The first chance you get is shortly after you get the power. Though there's an upgrade to make the freezing last longer, you are stll able to get it easily without.

Save the Prince's life by using the Power of Time.

Once you get the "Power of Time" you will be given a lesson on how to use it. Saving the Prince's life means you were falling to your doom, but reversed time before death. You will be able to get this upon completion of the lesson, if you jump in the same spot and do it again. You will be using this power throughout the rest of the game.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1250/+Jdf1A==.jpg Not how it Happened 15 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.jpg

Use the Power of Time 20 times.

You will most likely be using the Power of Time to save yourself from falling. If you miss a jump, you can press :rbbut: to reverse time and try agian. You do not have to be saving yourself from death when you use it, but you probably will be doing it for that reason. It will require an energy sphere to use. Using this is more of a time saver, so that you don't have to start over at a checkpoint.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1250/+Jdf1A==.jpg Acrobat 30 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.jpg

Jump on enemies 30 times in a row without falling or using the Power of Time.

You have to find a group of enemies all close by eachother and then ump on 30 of their heads (you can repeat the jump on the same enemies). To jump on an enemy, run towards it and press :abut:. Now wait a split second (so you can aim where you want to jump) and hit :abut: again. You may attempt this in a few places, but if still having trouble try in the spot late in the game that I found in the video below (I jumped on 64 of them, just to show you how easy it was).

Find and break every sarcophagus.

There are a total of 21 sacrophagus collectibles you must break. To break them, hold :xbut: for a charged slash, and let go. Watch the video below for all locations, or refer to CrustyDirtDemon's written walkthrough HERE or the one I really like from GamesRadar HERE. My video will not name the areas, as reading the locations normally confused me. I would not notice what area I was in and be worried I went past one without collecting. To use the video, study the area the Prince is in. Once you get to the area, unpause it and grab the sarcophagus. You may want to note, that collectible 16 is only a picture. I accidently deleted that video! From that point in the picture when you head right, all you have to do is slide down the obvious banner leading down, and you'll get it. It's right after grabbing number 15. You cannot replay levels, so if you miss one you will have to play the entire game again! There are two parts to the video.

Part 1 (1-11):

Upgrade one power to level 4.

You should get this along the way of the "Completist" achievement. Upgrade any of the elemental powers to it's final level. I would highly suggest aiming for Stone Armor, as it is the most useful and will help with the Untouchable and Invincible achievements.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1250/+Jdf1A==.jpg Completist 50 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.jpg

Purchase every item in the upgrade menu.

This will most likely be your last achievement. You will not have this by the time you complete the game. You must battle your way through the Tides Challenge or Time Trial challenge (if you purchased it via Uplay points). There are a total of 34 upgrades available. If you want, once you beat the game, you may purchase 2 of those with Uplay points. You can get them at any time, but it's best to use them on upgrades that cost the max amount (300 experience). Keep replying until you have all upgrades. This is what a completed chart looks like:

Break 100 vases and sarcophagi.

You'll get this if you focus on smashing the vases around which give you health and energy. You should get it very early on! All you have to do is hit :xbut: on the vases or hold :xbut: to do a power slash on sacrophagi (which are the collectibles in the game, there are 21 total).

Misc Achievmeents

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1250/+Jdf1A==.jpgPrince of Tides50 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.jpg

Complete the Enemy Tides Challenge.

The Tides Challenge can only be played once you have beaten the game. The Uplay menu has a challenge that you can unlock (Timed Challenge), but this is not the same as the Tides Challenge. It's the first challenge located in Challenge Mode from the start menu. This mode should only take you 5-6 minutes, and is very easy. Use your Stone Armor power whenever the bigger enemies arrive. You will probably be using this mode to get fully upgraded.

Defeat Ratash in the Throne Room wihout taking any damage.

The first time you encounter this boss, I would suggest quitting out and creating a copied save. Hit the Xbox guide button and quit to dashboard. Now, go to your hard drive memory. Find Prince Of Persia: The Forgotten Sands, and opt to copy it to another location (memory card or USB). Now play from hard drive. If you get hit, you can reload your checkpoint. There are two portions of this fight, so you will hit a checkpoint in the middle. Check the video below. During the cut scene, you will notice the boss hits me. I do not have Stone Armor active, but I still get the achievement. The cut scene hit does not count as taking damage (as some people may have thought).

Finish the final battle against Ratash without taking any damage.

The final battle against Ratash proves to be pretty easy, as long as you keep using the Stone Armor. Make sure on your way to him (killing tons of enemies during the sand storm) you refuse to use any energy slots. The very nice thing about this boss battle, is that even if you beat it and had not obtained the achievement, you can still continue from the last checkpoint at the main menu. This will allow you try again. You will be able to fight him again as much as you want as long as you don't start a new game. You do not get any checkpoints during the fight, only at the start.

Don't Worry. We won't tell if you don't.

This achievement is pretty easy. Start up the game on Medium and change the difficulty to Easy. Hit :start: and go to "Lower Difficulty". You can play on Medium the whole way through if you want, and afterwards hit "continue game" and change it. After changing it to easy, you cannot change it back unless you start a brand new game. (Note: Changing the difficulty will reset you back to your last save point).

Just thought I'd point out (I'll delete this post if you need more space) that you can get Sand Nemesis by killing the soldiers in the beginning despite them not giving experience.

So are you saying you can get the achievement even if enemies don't give you experience? Or are you reloading a checkpoint (thus they still give you experience)?

Great Guide but one thing that really stood out to me - was where you mentioned about only using stone armour and power of time, with the others being a waste of energy, I disagree I find the flame trail is rather useful and can do quite a fair amount of damage to the titans and chargers.

I also found the whirlwind useful for the flying scarabs but yeah the ICE one is useless. But hey that's just me

still Good guide - I like yours and the other :)

As the other guide stated, you can get Sand Nemesis as early as the first big group of enemies you see after wall running across the wall in the beginning. All you have to do is just reload the checkpoint after killing them without getting hit and repeat.

I got the Sand Nemesis during the first area by reloading the checkpoint when a bunch of bad guys (a dozen or so) come out of the raised wooden tower (right after the first 5 guys noted by other players). For some reason I found it easier to remain unharmed while fighting a larger group, plus I got annoyed of jumping off the ledge in that previous area with the 5 guys.

Hey you should update the our little secret achievement. You don't have to start a new game after you have beaten it on medium. Just hit continue and go back to the final fight against Ratash and do it there. You can do it at any point in the game.

I'll go ahead and fix that to reflect it as more of an opinion than a fact :)Thanks for your input!

Can you still get achievements after switching the difficulty? (I'd imagine it would be much easier to get the untouchable boss achievements)

Yes

As the other guide stated, you can get Sand Nemesis as early as the first big group of enemies you see after wall running across the wall in the beginning. All you have to do is just reload the checkpoint after killing them without getting hit and repeat.

Then yes, those enemies are giving you experience every time, because you are erasing your progress. Here's what I said in the guide :

-Balance reloading your checkpoints. Do not reload your checkpoints because you want a specific achievement (unless you know it's a great spot to get specific ones). All your doing is wasting tons of time! You will be fighting tons and tons of enemies in the game, 50 enemis are nothing to reload over. Reloading erases all experience, even if you upgraded! You will get tons of oppurtunity just by playing the game, for all combat related achievements (even the Titans, which you will be facing multiple times in the challenge mode).

:) This game is way too easy, I killed 175 enemies without dying at this one spot, but since the enemies werent giving me experience, it didn't count. I will highlight that if people have problems with that achievement , they can reload checkpoints :)

This is what im using and its very helpful so far. im sure everyone will find this video useful. hopefully this video will be used in the guide.

I think you are right, this is a great help and much better quality than what I can produce (until June). I do have someone working on HD videos like the one shared. But that's exactly what I would like the final product to look like!

Hopefully it will be done soon. I would suggest to anyone to use this video for the time being, as it's all in one video and has a lot better quality.

I LOVE YOU!!!! Your guide looks amazing (like for Splinter Cell). I bought this game yesterday...can't wait to play tonight!

i love you too! <3

Might pick this up now, wasn't that enthusiastic about it to be honest. I liked POP 2008 (first and only one i've played from the series). But the guide makes it look very easy so i can play and complete this in a day, then sell it on play.com for the same i payed for it cos its so new out. :D

I thought it was really fun. Easy achievements, well done acrobatic puzzles, pretty good graphics. The ony thing lacking was story and elemental powers (up down left right). They could have made those a little cooler.

Excellent guide (although I knew it would be after using the one for Splinter Cell ;))

Just thought to mention that the glitch fix suggested by Ubisoft themselves for the point later in the game where you are "vulture hopping" also comes in handy if you've just missed a sarcophagus :woop:

Case in point, there was one that was just before a door, which I missed and when I passed through the door it was sealed forever! By deleting the autosave from the dashboard/system/memory the game was forced to load the backup autosave which is usually a save 2 or 3 places back from your recent autosave.

Obviously, it will only work if you've just missed a sarcophagus because the more autosaves you accumulate after missing it the less likely that the backup autosave will put you back to where you need to be ;)

Hope this makes sense and helps a few folk who don't relish another play through just for a collectable! :)

What was the glitch ubisoft was fixing?

I will add that info about the autosave, thanks!

And hopefully there will be an HD vid up of the collectibles soon! Monkeyman was still working on it.

You CAN used summoned enemies. This is how I got almost all of my combat achievements.

I killed 125 enemies (summoned ones by the mages) getting no experience and getting no Sand Nemesis achievement, using no powers at all! I know you can get combat oriented achievements, but this one specifically I couldn't get to count. Every other combat one doesn't need to be grinded at all, you're just wasting time if so.
