Shivering Isles Achievement Guide

There is already a guide for this under the retail games section, but I thought I would give more in-depth guide to each achievement.

Tourist, Shivering Isles 20

This one is simple. It just requires you to enter the Shivering Isles. Use http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Shivering:A_Door_in_Niben_Bay for more detailed info

Aspirant, Shivering Isles 20

For this achievement, you need to complete "Through the Fringe of Madness". Click HERE for a detailed guide.

Citizen, Shivering Isles 20

You need to complete "A Better Mousetrap" and "Baiting the Trap" before you recieve this achievement. Part 1 is HERE, and part 2 is HERE

Madman, Shivering Isles 20

This achievement will not be unlocked until "The Lady of Paranoia", but you will need to complete "Understanding Madness" first. For "Understanding Madness", click HERE, and for "The Lady of Paranoia", click HERE.

Honored Madman, Shivering Isles 20

Similar to the previous achievement, you will need to complete "Addiction" to do "The Cold Flame of Agnon" to unlock this achievement. For "Addiction", Click HERE, and Click HERE for "The Cold Flame of Agnon"

Duke Dementia, Shivering Isles 30

See "Duke Mania, Shivering Isles" for more information.

Duke Mania, Shivering Isles 30 *POSSIBLE SPOILER*

This is the most important part of Shivering Isles. If you want to avoid playing through this twice, you need to follow exactly what I say. When you do the quest "Ritual of Accession", you will need to choose if you want to be the Duke or Duchess. SAVE HERE! Then do "Ritual of Mania" or "Ritual of Dementia", and once you complete one of these and have your achievement, reload your save and do the other quest that you didn't do to get the other achievement. Bam. 60 Gs richer in one playthrough! Click HERE for "Ritual of Mania", and click HERE for "Ritual of Dementia".

Regent, Shivering Isles 20

This achievement requires you to complete "Retaking the Fringe" (click HERE for guide) and then "Rebuilding the Gatekeeper" (click HERE for guide).

Defender, Shivering Isles 20

For this achievement you will need to complete the quest "The Helpless Army". Click HERE for the guide.

Madgod, Shivering Isles 50

This achievement will take a while longer than all the others. You will need to complete: "Symbols of Office" (GUIDE), "The Roots of Madness" (GUIDE), "The End of Order" (GUIDE) and "The Prince of Madness" (GUIDE)

Congratulations! You should now be 250 points richer, and completed Shivering Isles! Credit goes to uesp.net for all the guides. = ]

I wish I had read this, or heeded Sheogorath when he told me there was no turning back. As stated above, if you don't want to play the Shivering Isles twice, save before choosing Duchess of Dementia or Duke of Mania! It sucks having to do it all again for the other achievement.

My question may be a little confusing, but if I choose the Mania quest will I get the "Duke of Mania" achievement or the "Duke of Dementia"? The reason for this question is because I got the duke of dementia achievement years ago and can't remember which quest I need to do to get duke of mania. I don't want to play a quest for no reason! I am just tring to get the "duke of mania" achievement! Please help!

Thanks, I was wondering how long does it take. When I'm done with Skyrim (just a few more hours) then I'll hit this DLC, already installed it.

Edit: Took me exactly 8h.
