Explodius's Gamercard
My Mission 64 5 Star Method.

Sorry for the bad quality.

It would probably work just as well with 2x General's Belt instead of Champion's Belt and General's Belt. Also, you could use any weapons for Fang and Lightning.

Characters:

Vanille/Lightning/Fang

Equipment:

Vanille: Nirvana47(Belladonna Wand base)/General's Belt*/Champion's Belt*/Weirding Glyph9/Witch's Bracelet*/
Lightning: Omega Weapon*(Gladius base)/General's Belt*/Champion's Belt*/Gold Watch1/Witch's Bracelet*/
Fang: Kane's Lance*(Taming Spear base)/General's Belt*/Champion's Belt*/Kaiser Knuckles*/ Witch's Bracelet*/

Paradigms:

Van/Lig/Fan

Rav/Rav/Com
Sen/Sen/Sen
Med/Syn/Syn
Sab/Sab/Sab
Sen/Sen/Sen (I have it two times so I only have to move either up or down one time to get to this)
Med/Rav/Com

Steps:

1. Buff before battle.
2. First off, cast Libra if you haven't already.
3. Start with Sab/Sab/Sab, once you inflict poison switch to Rav/Rav/Com.
4. Once he goes to Defense, switch to Med/Syn/Syn, spam Curaja until it starts severely losing its effectiveness.
5. When he goes back to Offense, switch back to Sab/Sab/Sab and remove his buffs and cast poison, once he's poisoned switch to Rav/Rav/Com.
6. Repeat steps 4-5 until he casts three buffs on himself. When this happens keep repeating steps 3-4 , but use Med/Rav/Com instead of Rav/Rav/Com (because he starts to do more damage) and keep spamming Curaja (when he uses Wicked Wind, immediatly switch to one of the Sen/Sen/Sen Paradigms).
7. Keep doing step 6 until he dies.

Note: You probably won't get 5 stars the first time. Once you beat him, equip Gold Watch and you should get 5 stars if you follow this strategy again.

if u do this mission when u have all max level and with max weapon at max u do this easy(end the first time in 6 min with one elixir) i have used fang/light/vanille. If u summon bahemoth and use the medical tecnic is easy to win (use often dissipatio and spam all the negative spell)

You could have posted in the 5 Stars mission guide or in here on page 2 after a little searching : http://www.xbox360achievements.org/f...d.php?t=218506

You don't have to lose time buffing if you use sprays for the first round. The rest of the strategy is almost exactly described on the thread I gave you here.

Nice find though, and thank you for sharing.

Sorry, I didn't think there would be a thread dedicated just to mission 64 guides.

I made this method after having severe trouble with Mission 64, and if it's similar to anyone elses it's just a coincidence.

On top of this, I like to throw in a Highwind from Fang when the chain gauge gets up a bit, it helps deal that little bit more damage before the shield goes up.

You can't use Highwind if you're controlling Vanille.

Great vid man this is going to help people.

Hey I dont know if it's some secret that not many people know about as I havn't really read the manual or checked the datalog, but when you select your commands for example curaja curaja curaja, rather than keep re-selecting them if you just press on the ability tab it gives you an option to repeat.
Just thought I'd mention it as I've yet to see a video where somebody utilizes this feature.

Hahaha, I didn't know this. It's probably faster just to hammer A though, especially for commands that take 2 ATB segments.

Of course it is, there would have been no point in taking the time it took you to write this if you knew it was almost already there

It is kind of strange, but I 5 starred it on first try, and I think it is because timing is crucial and when you've been farming Dark Matter on Shaolong Gui (Cryptodire in Europe) for hours, you learn to switch to SEN SEN SEN pretty fast or you're dead LOL

Just to add a bit into this, with 3 SABs all going for poison it should stick rather quickly, in that case whoever you are controlling should spam Imperil, so that as soon as it sticks you can switch to RAV/RAV/RAV and get him into Stagger really quickly. Granted, the first few tries he will switch to Defense mode really quickly, so you might wanna stick to RAV/RAV/COM, but later when he is around half health or less, go RAV/RAV/RAV for a very quick stagger, then COM/COM/COM to beat his ass down, it can be a very quick fight if you're lucky with timings.

I never used Max weapons, nor any accessories (yeah I even forgot my Gold Watch), and it was a very quick time.

if you want the method to 5 starring this an easier way then let me kno and ill help you out.

and i will stress as much as i can that im not trying to take any credit away from this thread, just trying to help people too.

thnx

so for first timers like myself, what could i use in place of that gold watch? i know the levels of accessories takes away times so am i safe to just use any accessory level 1? like another witches bracelet but only at level 1?

An accessory to increase your physical defense.

Don't worry about the weapons except for Vanille's Malboro Wand so you can increase the chances that Poison sticks. For everyone else, just have their worst weapons and don't equip anything that will increase their Str/Mag since Poison will do all/most of your work with 150k HP/sec.
I was able to 5 star it this way, not even bothering to stagger it.

Big thanks for the guide, Explodius!

This misson nearly freaked me off. I did this before with an only slightly different Paradigm setup (Rav\Com\Com instead of Med\Rav\Com und Med\Med\Sen instead of one triple Sen) and managed to kill him even faster (around 10 minutes) than the one with your setup but it only gave me 4 stars on and on.
Then I tried your setup. Took me 11 minutes to kill him but I got 5 stars on the first attempt.
Never the less, 5 stared

Greetings Eff_GX

PS: I replaced Vanille with Hope, because I don't like her much. Worked as well.

It's kinda weird that people don't use RAV-RAV-RAV here. It's about ~75% chance to pull a stagger after debuffs, and like each second stagger is "unsafe" as boss is slow to raise the shield, meaning that COM-COM-MED or 3 COMs can take out like 1/3-1/2 of his health. Obviously, you should cast more debuffs on him at each fight phase, adding Imperil and Deprotect.

I wiped him in three unsafe staggers... last ones are harder to pull off because of his ultimate attack spam. Still doable tho..

By the way, I 5-starred this mission without gold watch.

As many people have mentioned, a lot of the equipment I use is unnecessary. You can use any weapon for Lightning and Fang, but Vanille should really use Marlboro Wand. The defensive accessories are neccesary, but they don't need to be fully upgraded. The only reason I used a lot of high end stuff is I died a lot to him before I filmed the video, so I wanted to be damn sure I would beat him.

Your Crystalium probably doesn't need to be maxed either, but you should really have a good deal of it maxed. I would say the main three roles for each character, and Curaja is a definite requirement.

Things you should have used are Gale rings or their upgraded versions tho. They minimize the damage from Wind Shear (or smth like it, the second strongest attack of the boss), so the fight becomes a cakewalk as long as you're able to quickly switch to SEN-SEN-SEN during the strongest attack.
