Why is this game so hard?

I'm really good at tetris and I heard good things about this game. That and it was 50% off, so I bought it. And I can't do anything, I've been playing for a while and I can't get a good score ever in time attack mode, I never get past the first skin in challenge mode, etc.

And about the achievement where you have to clear 70 blocks in 60 seconds, how is this even possible? I only get 15-20 when I do the 60 second time attack. My best is like 27 and I was playing it very fast and barely thinking. Is there some sort of tricks/tips that aren't in the tutorial that could help me improve?

I just bought this for 50% off too. I'm really suprised how hard they made the time attack achievements. On 60 sec. I can usually get between 50-60 blocks.

I thought i could get the 200/200 quickly becuase I put 60 hours into the original lumines on the psp and maxed out the score at 999,999. I can't even seem to get the fast time attacks. I guess it just takes a ton of practice.

It is for the psp version BUT Lumines Live! is basically the same game. The guide has great tips for how to try and clear every type of block, even those pesky chekerboard blocks . Good luck!

You got all 69 stars in spec ops but you have trouble with Lumines? Trust me, all you need is practice.

That's basically it, it just takes practice. Once i really started playing it hardcore it took me a little over 2 months to get 200 in it. I had never played Lumines before. The hardest cheevo for me was the 1/2 million one

I don't know, 69 stars wasn't bad, it was just the echo missions that gave me a little trouble.

But I don't know, it doesn't really seem like I'm getting better at all.

Have been waiting a while to get this game and finally got it at 1/2 off. I have played Lumines extensively before on the PSP and enjoyed playing the Xbox live version as well. Managed to get all the achievements in less than a day so I guess all those times playing the PSP version helps. The Time Attack 60 seconds/70 Blocks and the Half Million achievement took a bit of effort, but I eventually managed.

My only suggestion would be to download replay data of other people's time attack and observe how they play it. This is a game that will take a while to master, so just keep practicing.

damnit, i love hexic, but i just cant get the full 200, im slowly getting addicted to this game tho
