Regarding Acheivments

I've done the Survival Mode with a DLC Character and completed it (all 50 opponents) and i didn't get the achivement for Galactic Ruler. Do you need to use a custom character and not a DLC character in order to get acheivments?

If so does that mean DLC Characters Nullify your ability to acquire Acheivements?

using a character from the DLC, do not get the achievement. You must use a character in the game (of course you can customize)
