I thought some people might find this useful, after looking at gamefaqs and only finding a single guide that isn’t even finished (I’ll never understand why people feel the need to post guides before they’re finished, or at least very close to).

First up, the scoring system. It’s pretty simple, as follows:

- the bullseye is worth 10 points

- the area just outside this is worth 5

- next area is worth 2

- and the outer area is worth a massive 1 point

General tips:

- Always aim for the bullseye for more points- you’ll go through less ammo and have less chance of destroying targets too early. For the challenges without a target score, it doesn’t matter where you shoot as long as the bullets connect with the front of the target.

- Use manual aiming- particularly on the scoped weapons. A lot of the time, you’ll make things much harder for yourself if you don’t. Not zooming in on the challenges with a minimum accuracy will also make things much harder for you (though the laser can’t zoom so that’s not an option there). For anyone that doesn’t know, holding :ltbut: brings up manual aim (assuming you’re using the standard control setup).

- Most of the weapons in the game have a secondary mode- these are activated with :rbbut: (on standard controls).

- Some guns have a nasty tendency to scatter shots- clicking either stick down will make you crouch, and helps to steady your aim. You can crouch down to two different levels- as you crouch more you can't move as easily though. You only need to do this for a few challenges.

- Strafe to move between targets- this means you don’t need to constantly correct what you’re aiming at (which you won’t have time to do for a lot of challenges).

- For some of the weapons you have a faster rate of fire by rapidly tapping the trigger instead of holding it down (noticeable on the Falcon 2s, MagSec, Sniper Rifle and Tranquiliser). You need the faster fire rate for some challenges.

- You’ll get a 3 second countdown at the start of each challenge- take advantage of it to start lining up your first shot. Sometimes it’s helpful to get an early shot off before the timer starts, other times it’ll be a waste of ammo.

- Before you can complete all the challenges, you’ll need to unlock all 32 weapons. Picking them up in any mode (eg. campaign or combat simulator challenge) will unlock them for use in the firing range. Using the in-game cheats to unlock weapons you haven’t found doesn’t work.

- For most of the more difficult challenges, I’ve added videos. The quality isn’t the best, but they should be clear enough to still be helpful.

Weapon Locations

Unless speedrunning through, you should manage to find pretty much every weapon as you move through the missions. The only weapons that are kind of out of the way are the Phoenix, Slayer and DY357-LX.

DY357-LX – Disarm Trent Easton on mission 5.3

Phoenix – There’s a technician standing near a robot interceptor on mission 4.1 (in the same area as the roller door elevators that you take to get into the base)- lure him away from the robot and punch him out before destroying the robot. Head upstairs in the first room of the next mission and turn to the left. If you kept the technician alive on the previous mission, he'll unlock the door for you after you try to open it (sometimes if you make enough noise a guard ends up opening the door, but the technician method is much faster)- head on through and eventually you’ll find a Phoenix.

Alternatively, disarm Elvis on mission 8

Slayer – Can be found on mission 8 (head through the center door after taking the first elevator up, the Slayer is at the back of the end room) or on mission 9 (the 2 Skedar on the ground just before the inner sanctum carry Slayers)

Unlockables

Completing all challenges (you need all 3 stars for each weapon) for each group of weapons will allow you to use the Goldeneye weapons in solo missions. They can be enabled from the cheats menu, but as with any other cheat they will disable progression. The laser is the only weapon you don’t need gold on for anything.

PP9I (PP7): Falcon 2, Falcon 2 (scope), Falcon 2 (silencer)

CC13 (DD44): MagSec 4, Mauler, Phoenix, DY357, DY357-LX

KLO1313 (Klobb): Proximity Mine, Remote Mine, Timed Mine

KF7 Special (KF7 Soviet): Dragon, K7 Avenger, AR34, SuperDragon

ZZT (ZMG): Devastator, Rocket Launcher, Grenade

DMC (D5K): CMP150, Cyclone, Callisto NTG, RC-P120, Laptop Gun

AR53 (AR33): Slayer, Combat Knife, Crossbow, Tranquiliser

RC-P45 (RC-P90): Shotgun, Reaper, Sniper Rifle, Farsight

Falcon 2

Bronze:

Goal Score: 120 | Time Limit: 2:00

It doesn’t get much easier than this- point and shoot.

Silver:

Goal Score: 80 | Time Limit: 0:15

Still not too bad- the target will move from side to side and turn around when it reaches the end. Aim for the bullseye hammering the trigger (you’ll shoot faster this way), shifting to the next target when forced to.

Gold:

Goal Score: 170 | Ammo Limit: 24 | Time Limit: 00:10

A little more difficult than the first two. Position yourself so you’re pointing directly at the target on more side, use manual aiming to more sure you’re pointing at the bullseye, and keep firing until you need to reload, you’re no longer pointing at a target, or you destroy the target you were shooting at. Reload + repeat and this challenge is done.

Falcon 2 (Silencer)

Bronze:

Goal Score: 120 | Time Limit: 2:00

Another point and shoot, but this target will turn around every once in a while.

Silver:

Goal Score: 30 | Goal Targets: 9 | Time Limit: 2:00

This time around you need to destroy all targets- which isn’t too difficult since a single shot will trash each one. Make sure you’re aiming towards the centre though, since you also have a score to beat.

Gold:

Goal Score: 80 | Goal Targets: 3 | Time Limit: 0:30

These targets will take a few shots to destroy so you shouldn’t have any issues beating the score. Just pump the trigger (holding it down gives a slower rate of fire), reload when the targets turn, and repeat to take out the other two targets.

Falcon 2 (Scope)

Bronze:

Goal Score: 120 | Time Limit: 2:00

Zoom, point and shoot. Nothing to it.

Silver:

Goal Score: 120 | Min. Accuracy: 80% | Time Limit: 2:00

Another zoom, point and shoot, but watch your aim. Too many stray shots will fail the challenge (remember the challenge ends as soon as you hit the score, or time runs out). You have plenty of time, use it.

Gold:

Goal Score: 80 | Ammo Limit: 8 | Time Limit: 0:10

Zoom, point and shoot with a twist. You only have limited ammo (and an unforgiving time limit) so every shot need to hit the bullseye. Take a single shot at the start, then wait for the target to move all the way to the side before unloading 3 or 4 shots into it (if you think your aim is good enough you could try hitting the bullseye while the target moves, but I wouldn’t recommend it). Wait for it to move all the way to the other side and empty the rest of the clip into the bullseye to complete the challenge

MagSec 4

Bronze:

Goal Score: 135 | Time Limit: 2:00

Zoom, point and shoot returns. Try out the 3 round burst alternate mode if you feel like it by clicking :rbbut:. Note than unlike the Falcon 2, this gun scatters the shots, so don’t be surprised when it’s harder to hit bullseyes.

Silver:

Goal Score: 135 | Ammo Limit: 18 | Time Limit: 2:00

Similar to the bronze challenge, but now you have a board moving around to block shots, the targets all flip at the same time, and you have limited ammo. Don’t use the 3 round burst, it scatters even worse than in single round mode and will destroy each target without giving you anywhere near max points (and causing you to fail the challenge). Instead, zoom, line up shots and fire one bullet at a time when you have clear shots at the targets.

Gold:

Goal Score: 80 | Goal Targets: 4 | Time Limit: 0:12

Here’s where you use the 3 round burst. As long as you’re aiming at roughly the middle of the target when you fire this is ridiculously easy for a gold challenge

Mauler

Bronze:

Goal Score: 200 | Time Limit: 2:00

Point and shoot.

Silver:

Goal Targets: 8 | Ammo Limit: 50 | Time Limit: 2:00

Point and shoot part 2 (or possibly part 10 by now?). You can mess around with the charge shot alternate mode if you want, but it’s easier just using single shots. Don’t worry about the score, just trash the targets.

Gold:

Goal Targets: 6 | Ammo Limit: 35 | Time Limit: 0:15

Now you need to use the charge shot (normal shots take far too long in this case). Let the gun charge while the initial time runs down, firing a single shot once the gun in bright red. Wait for the targets to turn, and take out the next two targets using the same method. Reload straight after the third shot (the sooner the better), and wait for the gun to get to a noticeable red before firing- this is the hardest part, if you fire before the gun is charged enough the target will stay intact (and you won’t have enough time to finish the challenge) and if you wait too long the targets will turn (which gives the same effect). Video below. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8z_-iUinYwo]Mauler- Gold[/ame].

Phoenix

Bronze:

Goal Score: 90 | Time Limit: 2:00

Point and shoot, but take note of how the manual aiming for this looks very different to the human weapons.

Silver:

Goal Targets: 8 | Ammo Limit: 18 | Time Limit: 2:00

Explosive rounds are your friend. Switch to secondary fire and blast away (of course, the targets do have to be facing towards you to destroy them, though hitting a target with an explosive round just before it turns also works). You have plenty of time, the lack of ammo is the only possible issue (and remember that while using explosive rounds the rate of fire is probably about half what it normally is).

Gold:

Goal Targets: 6 | Ammo Limit: 3 | Time Limit: 0:20

A little trickier, but not too difficult. Use explosive rounds, fire just as the targets cross in the centre of the room or slightly earlier. Every shot has to hit or you’ll fail, but you have more than double the amount of time you’ll need. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5tk5Sa2GoP8]Phoenix- Gold[/ame]

DY357 Magnum

Bronze:

Goal Score: 90 | Time Limit: 2:00

Point and shoot. Take note of how slow the fire rate is for the other two challenges (and for the gold magnum, since it’s just a one hit kill version of the same gun).

Silver:

Goal Score: 80 | Ammo Limit: 3 | Time Limit: 2:00

There’s more targets than bullets here. Fortunately, the magnum shots go through multiple targets. Since you have time, line up where you’re standing directly in line with each target, and fire straight at the middle (strafe to the other 2 targets, it’s just easier than messing around with positioning all over again). If you’ve lined up properly it’ll give you 30 points each time. If not, you’re probably going to need to restart (you’ve got a little bit of leeway, but only really enough for you to be slightly off target for a single shot).

Gold:

Goal Score: 50 | Ammo Limit: 5 | Time Limit: 0:12

These targets turn, but not always at the same time. Still, as long as you aim for the bullseyes you shouldn’t have any issues (it’s actually possible to take out 3 targets and get 30 points for one shot here too, but the timing is tricky- so it doesn’t matter so much if one or two shots are a little off centre). Honestly this challenge is probably easier than the silver one was.

DY357-LX

Bronze:

Goal Score: 90 | Time Limit: 2:00

Point and shoot. Again.

Silver:

Goal Score: 200 | Time Limit: 0:30

Fire as all 3 targets cross. If you can hit the bullseye enough times here, you’ll only need a few shots at one target to complete the challenge (though it’s probably still a good idea to fire when more than one target crosses). Using manual aim can be useful to help you time the shots (as you have a more noticeable reference point).

Gold:

Goal Score: 100 | Ammo Limit: 12 | Time Limit: 0:50

Use the manual aim and point at the middle of the room. Fire just as the target moves to the centre of your aiming reticule. Might take a few goes to figure out the timing, but it’s consistently doable. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7xYHtZ7oi6U]DY357LX- Gold[/ame]

CMP150

Bronze:

Goal Score: 240 | Time Limit: 2:00

Not even point and shoot. If you try out this weapons secondary mode, you’ll notice that after using manual aim to point at something (usually an enemy but a target here), every shot you fire will be auto aimed there.

Silver:

Goal Targets: 4 | Ammo Limit: 80 | Time Limit: 2:00

You can do it point and shoot style on your own if you want. Use the secondary auto aim combined with manual aim to point at each target one at a time (all 4 targets should have a red box around them and be numbered from 1 to 4) then blast away.

Gold:

Goal Score: 350 | Goal Targets: 6 | Time Limit: 0:20

Manually aim at one spot in the room and fire as targets come in range. Once you get close to 350 points, you can use the auto aim to quickly destroy the last 2 or 3 targets.

Cyclone

Bronze:

Goal Score: 750 | Time Limit: 2:00

Point and shoot. Feel free to try out the magazine discharge secondary, which does exactly what it sounds like (and makes things much faster).

Silver:

Goal Targets: 5 | Time Limit: 0:20

Remember how I mentioned the magazine discharge for bronze? Use it here for another easy challenge.

Gold:

Goal Score: 400 | Goal Target: 1 | Time Limit: 0:18

Use magazine discharge as needed, just don’t overuse it or you’ll destroy all 3 targets without hitting 400 points (since the Cyclone scatters all over the place- though it has nothing on the Reaper). Using magazine discharge to take out two of the targets then using normal mode and manually aiming works well.

Callisto NTG

Bronze:

Goal Score: 480 | Time Limit: 2:00

Point. Shoot. Finished.

Silver:

Goal Score: 1 | Time Limit: 0:30

This one could be tricky, but isn’t. Stand in the middle of the room and fire through the gaps in the blockers at the target until it explodes. I think you’re really meant to be using the high impact shot secondary here (which allows you to shoot straight through the blocks and into the target) but both ways work.

Gold:

Goal Score: 250 | Goal Targets: 2 | Time Limit: 0:20

This one could be difficult, but point and shoot on the middle targets with standard fire mode works. Spamming high impact shots through the middle targets also works (and should be a more consistent way to beat the challenge)

RC-P120

Bronze:

Goal Score: 1000 | Time Limit: 2:00

It’s a high score, but this gun is very accurate and has an insane rate of fire. Do I really need to give a method?

Silver:

Goal Score: 300 | Time Limit: 0:20

Along with being a very accurate weapon with a crazy fire rate, this guns secondary function cloaks you (though it rips through your ammo while active). Click :rbbut: and hit the trigger to cloak, and the targets will turn to face you. Unload as much ammo as you can into one target (it’ll probably destroy it), then stop firing until you recloak and repeat (it will automatically recloak you every time unless you disable it the same way it was activated). You should hit 300 on the second target if you’re aiming for the bullseye.

Gold:

Goal Targets: 9 | Ammo Limit: 180 | Time Limit: 0:20

Use the same cloak method from the silver challenge to take out the front 3 targets, then hurry to destroy the others as normal. If you take too long at the start (you can take out two of the targets before they start to turn back) then you’ll run out of time, and/or chew through too much of your limited ammo. Short bursts of fire are enough to take out each target. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9TeZzsDeApo]RCP120- Gold[/ame]

Laptop Gun

Bronze:

Goal Score: 750 | Time Limit: 0:30

You could point and shoot. But it’s much more entertaining to use the secondary function (which imo is one of the best in the game). Use the secondary function to throw the gun away- as a sentry turret which then does all the work for you while you stand back and watch.

Silver:

Goal Score: 90 | Goal Targets: 3 | Time Limit: 0:20

For this all three targets are facing away from you, and never turn towards you. So instead, head to one of the sides and throw a sentry down past the targets (and watch as it does all the work for you again).

Gold:

Goal Score: 750 | Goal Target: 2 | Ammo Limit: 250 | Time Limit: 0:15

Don’t use the sentry here (it’ll either destroy all 3 targets without hitting 750, or run out of ammo), and focus on destroying two of the targets first. The ammo isn’t the issue here, the time limit is. And make sure you’re shooting close to the bullseye or you’ll run out of time before you can hit 750 points. This one can end up being a pain in the ass, as you repeatedly just fail the requirements (749 points and 2 targets destroyed ftl).

If you avoid using the manual aim and strafe along with one target, firing the whole time, this challenge becomes much easier (though it will make it harder to aim, since you have no zoom). [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YDC8j-y8pn0]Laptop Gun- Gold[/ame]

Dragon

Bronze:

Goal Score: 450 | Time Limit: 2:00

These targets periodically turn around- fire when they’re facing you.

Silver:

Goal Targets: 1 | Ammo Limit: 1 | Time Limit: 0:10

You don’t have enough ammo to destroy the target, so you might as well just throw the gun away- using the secondary mode allows you to throw the gun away as a proximity bomb. As the target moves towards it, the gun detonates, taking the target out with it.

Gold:

Goal Score: 500 | Min. Accuracy: 90% | Time Limit: 0:15

Strafe along with one of the targets, firing the whole time (assuming you’re able to point at a target the whole time or very close to). The time limit can be a killer, same with the accuracy requirement.

K-7 Avenger

Bronze:

Goal Score: 375 | Time Limit: 2:00

Zoom, point and shoot to finish this one.

Silver:

Goal Targets: 4 | Ammo Limit: 4 | Time Limit: 2:00

The secondary function of the K7 is a threat detector- useful for picking up where there’s things like turrets or mines. Using it here will show a red box around some of the targets, fire a single shot at one of these targets and you’re done (but make sure you’re firing at the right target- the centre target you need to aim at is actually in the back, though it doesn’t look like it).

Gold:

Goal Targets: 3 | Ammo Limit: 30 | Time Limit: 0:15

Zoom, point and shoot as the targets turn around (the outer two will face you when the middle one doesn’t), but be careful not to miss any shots- you’ve got 10 bullets max for each target (and need exactly 10 shots to destroy each target). You can’t take your time either, since you only have 15 seconds. Definitely one of the harder challenges in the game. Use the video below if you’re having trouble. AR34

Bronze:

Goal Score: 450 | Time Limit: 2:00

If you’ve been reading through the guide up to this point, then you can probably guess what you need to do here. Just make sure you’re aiming for the bullseye, since you only have three targets to work with here, and it’s possible to destroy them all before reaching 450 points.

Silver:

Goal Targets: 9 | Ammo Limit: 120 | Time Limit: 2:00

Essentially zoom, point and shoot. The time limit is significantly more than you need (can be done in under 24 seconds), the only way you can stuff this up is if you miss too many shots- but if you’re aiming for the bullseye, that shouldn’t happen.

Gold:

Goal Score: 500 | Min. Accuracy: 100% | Time Limit: 0:20

Notice how the first two challenges for the AR34 were really easy? This one isn’t. Instead, it’s possibly the second hardest in the game (beaten by the gold grenade challenge, which is just evil). You don’t have any ammo limitation; instead you have an accuracy requirement- that you don’t miss a single shot. Which is something of an issue with a gun that scatters this much.

Crouch as far down as you can (it steadies your aim and reduces the amount of scatter with the trade off that it’s harder to aim when you’re that close to the ground), then use the scope (use manual aim or the secondary mode- I find manual aim to be easier though) and ONLY fire at the target while it’s stationary (empty about half a clip each time- try to fire single shots into the target while it’s moving if you want, but it’s risky and doesn’t seem to make much difference to your score). Fire too many shots off and you’ll probably miss with at least one when the target moves. Don’t fire more than a couple shots right at the start before the target starts moving, or you can expect to miss here too.

If the accuracy requirement doesn’t fail you, the time limit probably will. Expect to need to retry this a few times. Oh and if you’re not aiming dead centre every time, you’re likely to get screwed over by straying bullets. Very hard if you’re crouching, borderline impossible if you’re not. A video for this one can be found below. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Bt9aOdhsgE]AR34- Gold[/ame]

SuperDragon

Bronze

Goal Score: 450 | Time Limit: 2:00

Another point and shooter (incidentally, the majority of the bronze challenges are- guess that makes the firing range achievement easy for everyone, assuming they can find all the weapons in the first place).

Silver

Goal Targets: 9 | Ammo Limit: 9/9 | Time Limit: 2:00

While the Dragon had a proxy mine mode, the SuperDragon also functions as a grenade launcher. Use that here to destroy the targets when they face you (position the shots on the middle target and you’ll take out 3 targets with one shot each time)

Gold

Goal Targets: 5 | Ammo Limit: 60/4 | Time Limit: 0:30

The outer 4 targets here will flip, move around the room and only turn to face you when they return to their original position. They can’t be destroyed unless facing you. Use a combination of the machinegun and grenade launcher for this challenge.

The front two are easy (there’s several blue lines on the ground, aim slightly past the second line away from you with a grenade for each of them), for the back two you need to be aiming at the bar the target is hanging off (again, if you’re using the grenades). The middle target is easy with the machinegun once the others are out of the way. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lDp10lCLsJI]SuperDragon- Gold[/ame]

Shotgun

Bronze

Goal Score: 240 | Time Limit: 2:00

Bang bang and you’re done (use the double blast secondary to make things faster).

Silver

Goal Targets: 9 | Time Limit: 0:30

Again, use the double blast (though it’s achievable with the normal fire mode too).

Gold

Goal Score: 170 | Ammo Limit: 30 | Time Limit: 0:20

Once again, use the double blast (unlike the silver challenge though, this doesn’t seem to be doable with the normal single shot). As it’s a shotgun (and they scatter into multiple shots every time you fire) you don’t actually need to fire anywhere near 17 times.

Reaper

Bronze

Goal Score: 1000 | Time Limit: 2:00

Point and shoot doesn’t seem right here. It’s more point, shoot, and hope you hit what you’re aiming at. If your aim sucks, this is one of the guns to go for- hold the trigger and watch as it sprays ammo everywhere. If you’re lucky it might even hit what you’re trying to aim at. Don’t bother with the secondary here, it’s a melee mode so it’s useless in a firing range.

Silver

Goal Targets: 18 | Time Limit: 0:30

Pretty much the same as bronze, but with destroying targets instead of points and a much tighter time limit. Try to take out targets until all 3 are on one side, then you can quickly rip through those 3 (at least). Avoid the manual aim, it’s too slow.

Gold

Goal Score: 750 | Goal Targets: 1 | Time Limit: 0:30

Focus on taking out one target first. The time limit can make this frustrating. Double crouching down might reduce the scatter a bit, but makes it much harder to aim- you’ll need to essentially stay in one spot the whole time if you try it this way. Crouching down once however makes this easy- you’ll have less scatter than normal, and can still move around semi-normally. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ko3h_RHrLio]Reaper- Gold[/ame]

Sniper Rifle

Bronze

Goal Score: 120 | Time Limit: 2:00

Point and shoot.

Silver

Goal Score: 120 | Min. Accuracy: 90% | Time Limit: 2:00

Same as bronze, but now the targets flip and you have an accuracy requirement. Still pretty easy though.

Gold

Goal Score: 150 | Ammo Limit: 15 | Time Limit: 0:12

Zoom to about 10x and strafe directly in line with one of the targets. Line up the shots on the bullseye and fire five shots directly into the middle of the target- anything off centre and you’ll fail here. Reload after taking out each target (they break with 5 shots) and line up on the next target while reloading. Don't worry about crouching, along with removing the secondary mode they've removed the Sniper Rifle's swaying. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XdU87Qi7sRI]Sniper Rifle- Gold[/ame]

Farsight

Bronze

Goal Targets: 3 | Time Limit: 2:00

This gun’s nothing special- just an alien sniper rifle that can shoot through walls (and with a secondary mode that finds enemies for you). Use the target locator secondary, go into manual aiming and fire when it lines the shots up for you. Easy.

Silver

Goal Targets: 6 | Time Limit: 0:15

Again, use the target locator method (though you could try aiming through the gaps if you want, though there’s no real reason to bother). You do however have to have the targets facing you (the outer two will be facing you when the middle one isn’t- you’ll see them flip anyway).

Gold

Goal Score: 40 | Goal Targets: 6 | Ammo Limit: 3 | Time Limit: 0:20

Not too much of a change- target locator again but this time make sure you aim for the centre of the target. Free aiming in the normal rail gun mode also works.

Devastator

Bronze

Goal Targets: 6 | Time Limit: 2:00

Pretty simple- aiming for the middle target will take out all three each time. For this gun, the secondary mode causes the grenades to stick to walls (or roofs, or other objects) before dropping off and exploding a few seconds later. Useful for traps when backing away from enemies.

Silver

Goal Targets: 6 | Ammo Limit: 10 | Time Limit: 0:50

Still fairly simple, but this time you need to stick a grenade onto one of the targets (preferably the middle one) so that it drops it at the back end of the room to destroy three targets that you can’t otherwise reach. The ammo isn’t usually the problem, accidentally destroying the moving targets is.

Gold

Goal Targets: 6 | Ammo Limit: 6 | Time Limit: 0:30

Aim just below the targets that appear at the front of the room, and just above the targets at the back of the room. Sticky nades are useless here. This one can be frustrating.

Rocket Launcher

Bronze

Goal Targets: 9 | Time Limit: 2:00

Either aim at the centre target yourself, or cheaply use the secondary mode (targeted rocket) to lock on to whatever you manually aim at.

Silver

Goal Targets: 8 | Ammo Limit: 18 | Time Limit: 2:00

Targeted rockets are once again the easy way to go.

Gold

Goal Score: 40 | Goal Targets: 4 | Ammo Limit: 4 | Time Limit: 0:30

Targeted rockets take too long here, you need to do this one yourself. Aim a rocket at the ground directly between the front targets just as they move back into position and you’ll take out both with one shot. You can do the same with the back two, just compensate for the distance (if you line up your crosshair with the line where the floor meets the back wall, you should hit the right spot- you’ll need to fire much earlier than you did for the front targets though).

Slayer

Bronze:

Goal Targets: 6 | Time Limit: 2:00

Another rocket launcher- with a secondary mode that lets you remotely control the rockets flight path (rockets will speed up automatically, but can be slowed down with :abut:, and detonated with :rtbut: or by crashing into something).

Silver:

Goal Score: 40 | Goal Targets: 4 | Ammo Limit: 6 | Time Limit: 2:00

You have limited ammo, so either use fly-by-wire rockets or just fire when the targets get close to you.

Gold:

Goal Score: 60 | Goal Targets: 6 | Ammo Limit: 8 | Time Limit: 0:40

Use fly-by-wires and manually detonate them directly between each pair of targets. This is made more difficult by the changes in how explosions are handled in the game, and the semi constant glitching of fly by wire rockets (sometimes they just disappear instead of exploding). Remember- the targets only break if they're facing towards you.

Combat Knife

Bronze:

Goal Score: 72 | Time Limit: 2:00

Switch to secondary mode so you can throw the knives (or you won't be hitting anything). Then point and throw (note that the knives stay sticking out of whatever they hit unless they’re knocked loose, so continually aiming at a single spot doesn’t always work).

Silver:

Goal Score: 90 | Ammo Limit: 18 | Time Limit: 2:00

These targets flip around, so just throw when they’re facing you (you can hold the trigger to prepare the throw, then release just as the target turns).

Gold:

Goal Score: 80 | Goal Targets: 8 | Time Limit: 0:30

Hit the bullseye each time for another challenge in the bag.

Crossbow

Bronze:

Goal Score: 72 | Time Limit: 2:00

Point and shoot. Crossbow bolts work exactly the same as knives on the targets.

Silver:

Goal Score: 90 |Ammo Limit: 20 | Time Limit: 2:00

Same as bronze but with an (overly generous) ammo limit.

Gold:

Goal Score: 150 | Time Limit: 0:30

Basically the same again, but this time you have a single moving target which can only be shot while stationary (since it flips), a fairly tight time limit and need a lot more points. Spam the bolts then reload fully, rinse and repeat (but remember any shots that hit a previously fired bolt are a waste).

Tranquiliser

Bronze:

Goal Score: 120 | Time Limit: 2:00

Point and shoot (but with drugs).

Silver:

Goal Score: 250 | Time Limit: 0:20

Spam the trigger when the targets flip for this one.

Gold:

Goal Targets: 18 | Ammo Limit: 18 | Time Limit: 0:15

You’ve got a single shot for each target. Strafe between each target, firing as soon as you’re lined up- you don’t have time for anything else. If you’re not darting between targets, you’ll run out of time. Learn the pattern or you have no chance. Another of the harder weapon challenges. Laser

Bronze:

Goal Score: 250 | Time Limit: 2:00

Point and shoot (with lasers- really). The secondary mode is useless for all 3 challenges (the beam doesn’t even reach the front targets).

Silver:

Goal Score: 180 | Min. Accuracy: 80% | Time Limit: 0:20

The target moves side to side, flipping at each end (so you can only shoot it while it moves). The time limit is more of a constraint than the accuracy requirement is. You should be able to get off 5 shots in between each flip.

Gold:

Goal Score: 250 | Min. Accuracy: 100% | Time Limit: 0:20

Another easy one, just make sure you don’t fire off any extra shots after destroying a target. Essentially point and shoot (as long as you aim for the bullseye).

Grenade

Bronze:

Goal Targets: 3 | Time Limit: 2:00

Spamming grenades works due to the bronze level lime limit. The grenades have a 4 second time limit, so holding them for a few seconds before throwing (by holding down :rtbut:) can make shots much easier (hold for ~3 seconds for targets up the front, a little less for the next position back, ~2 seconds for the middle of the room).

Silver:

Goal Targets: 18 | Time Limit: 0:30

Same as bronze but spamming is kind of out of the question due to the time limit. Time the throws- if you can time it so the grenades explode just as they reach what you aimed at, then this becomes much easier.

Gold:

Goal Targets: 4 | Ammo Limit: 6 | Time Limit: 0:30

This one is fairly difficult if you don't know what to do. Use proximity pinball (secondary mode) for the back two targets (aim just below the target when it stops moving) and standard fire mode for the front two, unless you can manage to take out the front ones with pinball grenades angled off the walls. The targets only break while facing you, so you have a fairly narrow window to work with- use the position of the target to figure out when to throw. The video for this is probably more necessary than for any of the other weapon challenges. You only have time for one decent throw at each target (plus one extra, which I needed in the video after the random stuff up). [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sezb9VzrI5M]Grenade- Gold[/ame]

Timed Mine

Bronze:

Goal Targets: 3 | Time Limit: 2:00

Throw mines- watch explosions.

Silver:

Goal Targets: 6 | Ammo Limit: 6 | Time Limit: 2:00

Basically throw mines, watch explosions. If you can stick mines onto the targets it makes things even easier.

Gold:

Goal Score: 60 | Goal Targets: 6 | Ammo Limit: 1 | Time Limit: 0:12

Aim slightly above the bullseye on the centre target and throw. The explosion takes out all the targets if you aimed it right. You don’t actually need to stick the mine on the centre target, getting it to slide across the floor also works.

Proximity Mine

Bronze:

Goal Targets: 3 | Time Limit: 2:00

Again, throw mines and watch the explosions.

Silver:

Goal Targets: 3 | Ammo Limit: 6 | Time Limit: 2:00

You only need one mine- throw it on the centre target before the clock starts.

Gold:

Goal Targets: 5 | Ammo Limit: 4 | Time Limit: 0:30

Throw a mine on the centre target, it’ll eventually explode taking out all but one target. Then throw mine(s) at the final target when it stops moving. Alternatively, just randomly throw mines at targets one at a time (just don’t try it with your last mine).

Remote Mine

Bronze:

Goal Targets: 3 | Time Limit: 2:00

Throw mines, trigger explosions. Detonate by pressing :abut:+:xbut: at the same time.

Silver:

Goal Targets: 4 | Ammo Limit: 4 | Time Limit: 2:00

A little trickier since the targets move and flip, but nothing too difficult. Like with any other type of mine, it doesn’t matter if you stick it to the back of a target, as long as the target is facing you when it detonates it’ll break the target.

Gold:

Goal Targets: 7 | Ammo Limit: 2 | Time Limit: 0:12

Throw a mine on the centre target (the stationary one) and detonate it. Then throw the second mine on one of the back targets and detonate as the targets cross.

The Grenade Video is Private, not sure if it is intentional or not. I only checked a few others and they worked. For the Reaper I suggest crouching for better accuracy. I couldn't get that one to save my life until I read the description and it said crouching helps alot.

that's weird, i was positive i uploaded that one as public. either way, it should be fine now. and yeah, that reaper challenge is crazy hard unless you crouch.

The f'ing AR34 was the only one I could not on the 64.

DAMN STRAIGHT!

That one was just plain annoying......best thing you can do is to crouch to improve your accuracy and reduce your firing cone (the area where recoil can make your bullets go...)

100 percent accuracy is just too brutal.....I'd like it if it was 90 percent....

Heh, I used the Laptop Gun bug (which yes, is still there) for the AR34 Gold. I feel absolutely no shame for it either - that one is just plain stupid. I did really try to do it, but the 100% accuracy thing is ridiculous. Coupled with the score requirement, it's impossible. You either hold down fire to *barely* make the score but shoot your accuracy to hell (85-90% at best), or you keep tapping it to maintain accuracy but come some 200 points short of the score. It's dumb.

But yeah, Grenade gold is dumb too... Half of my grenades fall right into the floor. I really wish they'd fix that. Slayer has the same problem with fly-by-wire detonate which is required for that gold :(

i can see what people are saying, i mean i love a chalange, but i would also like said chalange to actually be do-able...

the 100% accuracy seems a bit harsh, im not looking foward to that...

it's not THAT bad. sure its somewhat difficult, but as long as you're crouching (and can manage to aim at a stationary target) then you should manage to get it within a few attempts. it's the sniper rifle one you need to watch out for, though the main problem with that is how touchy the aiming is.

Tell me about it, what a bastard! i REALLY cant wait for that update to hurry up and fix the so-called "steady aim" what a joke...

i keep forgetting to crouch, mainly cos i rarley do it during missions, i just blast away and usually win :woop:
