Hangar 51 / Not as easy as it used to be QUICK and SIMPLE walkthrough

I have just 1000'd LEGO Indy 2 by finishing this achievement on my second attempt. I wrote the guide on my first go because I thought I would need 2 players but if a single player does both jobs there should be enough time.

I is for INDY and M is for MAC after you put out the fire it doesnt really matter who you are until boss fight.

I - PUT BOX ON GREEN PAD
I - SWING OVER GAP
I - PUSH CRATE
M - BUILD LADDER & CLIMB
I - SMASH RIGHT BOX AND SHOOT MIRROR BOX TARGET
M - SMASH LEFT BOX AND MAIN AND BUILD
I&M - GET MIRROR
I&M - BOTTLE THE FIRE
M - SHOOT TARGET
I&M - THROW SPEARS
M - CLIMB AND PUSH BOX
I - GET OTHER BOX
I - DRIVE CAR ONTO PLATFORM
M - MOVE TO RIGHT OF SCREEN
I&M - STEP ON BUTTON
I - RIDE BIKE ONTO PLATFORM
M - GO UP TOP
I - WAIT BY EXIT
M - STAY ON BUTTON
I - WHIP AND GRAB

Don't get me wrong its not the best guide but it helped be do it so hope it can be use to someone else. Good luck!

Here's another suggestion. The achievement popped up for me when I was doing the level in Quick Play. I chose a 'spear' character and a 'staff of ra' character to help. So then I had lots of characters to choose from and saved a bit of time having to pick up all spears and staffs, etc....

It doesn't have to be done in the time trial mode.

Being that I'm not the best gamer around I thought this was going to be tough. I played this level 3 times. I missed it by 2 minutes the first time, 2 seconds the second time, and 1 second the first time. Then I realized I forgot to turn "fast build" on. Did it again, and beat it with 30 seconds to spare. It's really not that hard.

It isn't hard at all really, I did this with 40secs to spare. On my second playthrough I did it in Co-Op with my mum, yes you read that right and we had a minute and 30secs left on our first try.

I actually found that a hell of a lot harder. The larger number of characters to pick from made things a lot more awkward when trying to quickly swap between them, especially with the boss at the end

Gotta say that time trial with extras plus a couple of practice runs is the way to go. Quickplay equals no timer, got it in second real try after a refresher run. Now just gotta play. 28 more quickplays for 1k.

You guys are making it harder than it needs to be: do quick play, pick a girl (I used Marion) as the character, skip all cutscenes, then at the start of the level just keep jumping to the far end and break the 2 magnetic boxes. Saves tons of time as you skip all the spears, explosives, etc.

YES! I did it after 7 tries, in quickplay mode with a female character

I definitely found this to be easier on the Time Trial than through Quick Play. In Time Trial you have just the three characters so it's less of a hassle when you have to switch. Not to mention, you can watch your time and figure out where to cut corners as well as when to start over if you pass the 5 minute mark.

The female characters can even jump right to the last of the 4 chains to grab, making it even easier.

To reiterate:
1) Pick Marion/Indy in Quick Play, skip opening cutscene
2) Jump all the way to the end with Marion and push the two green buckets off the ledges (she can easily access them on her own.) the skippable cutscene will reset the other characters so you can access the bike in the giant crate.
3) Put the truck on the left button, bike on the right
4) Pull the switch that is revealed, jump over to the baddie and make him jump to the top platforms.
5) You should still be Marion at this point, just jump up to the 4th chain, hop on the box/up the ladder and make the boss jump into the pit.
6) Skip the cutscene, switch to Indy (just press Y once), yank the boss off the rocket with X, press B to stop pulling the whip and jump on one of the floor buttons. The CPU will get the other one. Do this 3x and you've got your achievement.

I didn't time it but it probably only took about 2 minutes.

I really didn't find this that hard. I thought it would be, because on my first try single-player, I missed it by like 30 seconds. Then I dragged my brother over to help, and we beat it easily. He's 5 by the way. I think multi-player is the way to go. Sure you can beat it by yourself, but it is a heck of a lot easier with another gamer.

at 4:15 in that video, you can jump directly from the container with the two buttons on it, to the platform where the ladder is. Saves quite some time. With it, I beat the speed run on my first try, with 15 seconds left, even though I did quite a number of mistakes.
