Score piece 31, impossible?

Hi guys,

Lately I've been busy playing encore so I can get a 1000 at this game.
On my first playtrough I talked to the old lady at the hotel of Forte City, but in the encore I didn't because I thought it wouldn't be necessary.
But now I read this: 31. Forte City, man in pain. (Note: You must talk to the old lady in the in the Hotel during Chapter 4 or you will not be able to get this one.)
Do you have to talk to her on your second playtrough also?
I'm playing the EU version.
Some things in the walktrough I found are different with what I'm experiencing in the game so I hope this one is also different.
Please help.

The Score Pieces are extraordinarly difficult to decipher since they aren't actually numbered in-game it can be a bit confusing.

I haven't started my Encore playthrough yet. I've got the official strategy guide though, let me tell you what it says and hopefully that'll help.

"Head toward the castle and locate the sick old man on the left. He refused Polka's help before, but this time he accepts. Talk to him again (only after talking to Granny in Baroque Ch. 4) to get Score Piece 31."

They have it listed as piece 28, because as I said, they aren't actually numbered, so each guide lists them differently.

Unfortunately, the official guide is rather vague too. It could mean if you talked to Granny during your first playthrough, talk to him again after he accepts your healing OR it could mean come back to him later and speak to him after you've talked to Granny in your encore playthrough.

Let me know if that helps any. If we can find out for certain, maybe the guide could be updated to clarify. And I still need to go back for that, so I'd like to know too!

You have to talk to granny in the encore playthrough or you will miss the scorepiece. You can miss her in the first playthrough and it won't matter, it's only the second playthrough that this is important.

Are you 100% sure of this?
Because if it's true I've wasted 20 hours of playing..

Goodbye 20 hours of hard work.

Oh well, should I play further and hope I can still get it, or should I just start over again?
At times like this I hate myself, and rpg's also..

Thank god for back ups!

Just realized I had another savefile om my memory card.
And guess what?
It's just before I get in Baroque, chapter 4, so I can talk to that old hag.
Sure, I've lost a couple of hours, but that's way better dan 20 of 'm.
Jeeeeeey for back ups!
