EA closes Pandemic LA

Definitely not happy with this. Pandemic is an awesome studio. Some my favourite games were developed by them (SW Battlefront, Mercenaries). I still hope that Mercenaries games will continue to come.

EDIT: I blame EA for Pandemic's trouble with making great games. Before then there games were always great and didn't have the problems they have now (ie glitches)

Not surprised. The economy isn't getting any better. The games will continue to come out, but the insane amounts of lay offs are probably going to result in a lot of money saved while producing mediocre games for mediocre sales.

Used to really enjoy walking past their offices and thinking of how often I saw their name on the Battlefront games. Sad to see them leaving.

after Mercs 2 i would be embarrassed. What a pile of garbage. The game had so much potential and had so much hype, except it just failed..... Im kinda sad i bought it on day 1, i should have waited to read the review.

The failing economy makes people work better or they can get the f*ck out of Dodge. I hate that companies can produce garbage games and hype the f*ck out of the because they have a name.... MAKE GOOD GAMES AND YOU WONT GO OUT OF BUSINESS.... god... there are so many good examples out there its almost like they are made for you, you just have to put a creative edge on it..... Look at Fallout3,,,, GOW, MW, etc.... the companies that make those games aren't going anywhere....

Mercs 2 was terrible.... if you make bad games that fail you go out of business. Its just how it is.

never played the battlefront games.

But a company is only as good as their last game. I mean if you spend millions and millions to make a game and it gets sh*t reviews, low sales, eventually the boss is going to pull the plug. Its different if its EA of coarse, because they are the Boss, and they make so many games all the time that the good ones cover for the bad. But when your making 1 game at a time, they all have to be good.

The company was bleeding money for EA, it was a no brainier to pull the plug.

But I'm sure Saboteur is gonna be amazing. It's just a shame that EA didn't wait for two weeks to see how Saboteur will sell. That's why we all hate EA.

I loved all of Pandemic's games, especially Mercs 2. Sad to see that we won't see any more great games from them.
