Achievement Guide and Road Map
Hey guys, just because I posted the guide here, don't think I worked alone. This was a combined effort between Minty and myself, so be sure to thank him too.
Overview: -Estimated achievement difficulty: 4/10 -Offline: 50(1000) -Online: 0 -Approximate amount of time to 1000 : 25-40 hours-Minimum number of playthroughs needed: 1 -Number of missable achievements: 1(5 ) See Fly Swatter-Glitched achievements: None -Do cheat codes disable achievements?: No Cheats. Two years after it's predecessor came out, Assassin's Creed 2 has finally come out to much praise. The achievement list this time around is a lot more varied, rewarding you for performing unique kills, and taking advantage of the many new additions in the game. Just because the achievement list is different this time around, doesn't mean you won't be working for your 1000. You will get a majority of the points in the game just playing through and finishing the story. Along the way, you will have some other things that you must do. If you want all of the points, you must perform several unique assassinations, find all of the Assassin's tombs, renovate and increase the value of the Villa, and upgrade Ezio. Aside from those acts, you must also find collectibles throughout the game. There aren't nearly as many as before though. You must collect all 100 feathers, find and solve all 20 glyphs, and bring all 30 codexs to Leonardo and Mario. Overall, this game is not difficult to complete, though you will have to put in some time and effort if you want the full 1000. NOTE: Many people have been asking if you can still go back and get all of the achievements after you beat the game. The answer is yes, so don't that means none of the achievements aside from Fly Swatter are truly missable. The Birth of an Assassin 20 ![]() Be reborn as Ezio Auditore Da Firenze. A very easy achievement that cannot be missed. When starting a new game, Lucy will tell you to hop into the Animus. During the following scenes, you will see the birth of Ezio. Just follow the game's instructions, and the achievement will unlock at the end of the cutscene. Arrivederci Abstergo 20 ![]() Break out of Abstergo. You will get this achievement right after the last. When you are finished with Ezio's scene, you will come out of the Animus, and Lucy will help you break out. Follow all of her commands, and eventually you will come to a parking garage. Defeat everyone here, and watch the following scenes for this achievement. Welcome to the Animus 2.0 20 ![]() Enter the Animus 2.0. Like the last achievement, this unlocks fairly shortly after breaking out of Abstergo. After you are taken to your new hideout, you will be introduced to several members of the Assassin organization that will help you throughout the game. Just stand right next to the red chair, and hit any button for the achievement. The Pain of Betrayal 30 ![]() Complete DNA Sequence 1. All of these achievements are a part of the story, and are unlocked by just playing through the game. You cannot miss them in any way, so no worries there. This will unlock after the mission "Last Man Standing". Vengeance 30 ![]() Complete DNA Sequence 2. See The Pain of Betrayal for more info. This achievement will unlock at the end of the mission "Arrivederci". Exit the Son 30 ![]() Complete DNA Sequence 3. See The Pain of Betrayal for more info. This achievement will unlock at the end of the mission "A Change in Plans". Bloody Sunday 30 ![]() Complete DNA Sequence 4. See The Pain of Betrayal for more info. This achievement will unlock at the end of the mission "Farewell Francesco". Undertaker 20 ![]() Discover the Assassin's Tomb inside the catacombs under Santa Maria Novella. See The Pain of Betrayal for more info. This achievement will unlock at the end of the mission "Novella's Secret". The Conspirators 30 ![]() Complete DNA Sequence 5. See The Pain of Betrayal for more info. This achievement will unlock at the end of the mission "With Friends Like These". An Unexpected Journey 30 ![]() Complete DNA Sequence 6. See The Pain of Betrayal for more info. This achievement will unlock at the end of the mission "Tutti A Vordo". Bleeding Effect 30 ![]() Complete training and reenter the Animus. See The Pain of Betrayal for more info. After the end of DNA Sequence 6, you will come out of the Animus and, you will have to go around the warehouse and set off four security alarms. When this is done, go back into the Animus, and the achievement will unlock. The Merchant of Venice 30 ![]() Complete DNA Sequence 7. See The Pain of Betrayal for more info. This achievement will unlock at the end of the mission "Everything Must Go". The Impenetrable Palazzo 30 ![]() Complete DNA Sequence 8. See The Pain of Betrayal for more info. This achievement will unlock at the end of the mission "Infrequent Flyer". The mission contains the only missable achievement in the game, Fly Swatter, so be very mindful of that. Before you can actually go and get that achievement, you must first do a test run with the glider beforehand. After running the course, you will then go and make the actual run where you can finally get Fly Swatter. You will get a quick tutorial beforehand showing you what to do. Just make sure to fly near a guard, and hold LT to automatically kick him. Masquerade 30 ![]() Complete DNA Sequence 9. See The Pain of Betrayal for more info. This achievement will unlock at the end of the mission "Having A Blast". Bianca's Man 30 ![]() Complete DNA Sequence 10. See The Pain of Betrayal for more info. This achievement will unlock at the end of the mission "Two Birds, One Blade". The Prophet 30 ![]() Complete DNA Sequence 11. See The Pain of Betrayal for more info. This achievement will unlock at the end of the mission "Play Along". The Vault 30 ![]() Complete DNA Sequence 14. See The Pain of Betrayal for more info. This achievement will unlock at the end of the mission "In Bocca Al Lupo". An Old Friend Returns 100 ![]() Escape the hideout. See The Pain of Betrayal for more info. Once DNA Sequence 14 is completed, the credits will begin to roll, but you will be in control of Desmond. From here, you will have to fight two sets of guards with Lucy to help you out. You have an infinite amount of health, so this should be no problem. Once you finish the guards, you will have to chase after Vidic. Afterwords, just go to the van, and wait for the credits to roll. When they are finished, you will unlock this achievement.

Myth Maker 5 ![]() Find the 8 statuettes in Monteriggioni. Look HERE for a map of all the statuettes. Vitruvian Man 20 ![]() Unlock all 20 pieces of Subject 16's video. See A Piece of the Puzzle for a list of all of the glyphs, and how to do each puzzle that goes with each one. Street Cleaner 10 ![]() Hide 5 dead bodies in a Bale of Hay. A very easy achievement to do. First things first, find a haystack. Next, you need to find some guards to kill. Lead them over to wherever the haystack is, and kill the guards. Once you finish, pickup each body using , stand next to the haystack, and throw them in. Repeat until the achievement unlocks. Fly Swatter 5 ![]() Kick a Guard while using the Flying Machine. This is on the mission where you fly the flying machine downriver, after you have helped the thieves set the fires. You do not have to get this (not sure you can) when you test the machine for Leonardo for the very first time. Simply hold to lock onto a guard and kick them.**Please note- this achievement is missable. You only get one mission in which to do this** Messer Sandman 10 ![]() Stun 4 guards at once by throwing sand in their face. For this achievement, you must go to the combat trainer in Monteriggioni, right in front of the Villa. Talk to him, look under Special Moves, and select Unarmed Combat. This training is for free, and will teach you how to throw sand. To do it, with only your fists and no weapons equipped, hold the button. When you let go, Ezio will throw sand into nearby enemies. It's best to do this on guards standing still, as it is difficult to pull off in combat.You can also throw a smoke bomb, to stun the guards long enough for the sand to be ready. Once they come close enough, throw the sand at them. Doctor 20 ![]() Perform an Air Assassination on a Poisoned NPC. This can be done after taking the codex to you receive from Lorenzo to Leonardo in the mission "A Blade With Bite". First, try to find a patrol of guards, and an area with enough height to do a jumping assassination from. Wait until the guards get near the area, and then poison one of them. After that's done, climb up to whatever area you picked out, lock onto the poisoned guard(he'll be the one beginning to go crazy), and assassinate him. No-hitter 20 ![]() Kill 10 enemies while remaining in conflict without being hit. The easiest way to do this is to go to the San Marco district in Venice, with three smoke bombs. From there, attract the attention to the guards, and gather up enough for the achievement. Once you are surrounded, throw the smoke bomb, and begin assassinating them with your hidden blades. Once the smoke bomb wears off, throw another one, and repeat the process. Keep going until you eventually kill ten guards for the achievement. Kleptomaniac 10 ![]() Pickpocket 1000 Florins. Another achievement that will come with time. This achievement requires you to pickpocket 1000 Florins, the in-game currency, from the people. To pick-pocket someone, hold to begin walking fast. From here, just run into someone, and you will pickpocket them. The quickest way to do this is to pay a Herald 500 Florins to lower your notoriety level, and then immedietly pickpocket him. This will get you your 500 Florins back. Repeat one more time. Lightning Strike 10 ![]() Sprint for 100 meters. With the amount of running you will be doing in this game, it's almost impossible not to unlock this achievement. Simply make sure that you hold + for the distances you run to count. Sweeper 10 ![]() Sweep 5 guards at once by using a Long Weapon. Like Messer Sandman, you must first go to the combat trainer in order to learn how to sweep enemies. It won't be free however, as it will cost 10000 Florins for the training in Long Weapons. Once that's done, you must steal a long weapon from one of the heavy soldiers covered in armor. Once you get the weapon, hold , and let go when you have 5 guards nearby to sweep. Venetian Gladiator 20 ![]() Discover the Assassin's Tomb inside Santa Maria della Visitazione. To find assassin's tombs, you must complete the mission "Novella's Secret". From there, you will gain the ability to find and visit all of the Assassin's Tombs. If you haven't filled your map out yet by synchronizing with the view points, the tombs will not show up on your map. This tomb starts off with a chase, as you must follow a messenger and kill him. The end of the chase leads to a fight with all of the guards in the area. When this is done, it's time for some timed platforming. You must pull a lever, and then go around the area, grabbing onto other levers in order to unlock the main door. There are four levers in the area you must pull before the time limit is up. I can see your house from here! 20 ![]() Discover the Assassin's Tomb inside the Torre Grossa. See Venetian Gladiator for more info. This tomb is over in Tuscany, and has just as much platforming as before. Now though, there are guards patrolling this area, so you will have to kill them as you go. The areas here are a lot more confined, so it's much easier to tell where you are going. Hallowed be thy name 20 ![]() Discover the Assassin's Tomb inside the Basilica di San Marco. See Venetian Gladiator for more info. This tomb is located in Venice, and is different from the other tombs you will go through. Instead of working your way towards the end of the end of the area, the game will put you smack dab in the middle of the building. You will have four switches you can step on, that drops a lever down that you must reach before the time runs out. Whenever you first step on a switch, watch the way the camera pans, as that is the path that you will have to take to reach the lever. Prison Escape 20 ![]() Discover the Assassin's Tomb inside the Rocca di Ravaldino fortress. See Venetian Gladiator for more info. This tomb is located in a prison, so the corridors here are very tight. Like in Tuscany, there are guards patrolling here, but they aren't anything special. There are quite a few timed jumps here involving gates, so whenever you see a lever, you are going to have to be quick.

Choir Boy 20 ![]() Discover the Assassin's Tomb inside Santa Maria del Fiore (The Duomo). See Venetian Gladiator for more info. Once you finish the mission "Novella's Secret", the icon will appear right on your map in Florence. Go there, and complete the mission for this achievement. This mission is very open as there are no levers or timed parts in this mission, you just have to climb and jump your way to the end. The entire area is open from the get go, so it can be easy to get lost if you aren't paying attention. If you get lost during all of the jumps, just try and look for the pigeons, they will show you where you have to go. Assassin For Hire 10 ![]() Complete your first assassination mission for Lorenzo Il Magnifico. At the beginning of DNA Strand 5, you can start to do assassination missions, which are marked by the crosshairs on your map. Go to the area marked on the map, and accept the mission. There are several mission types to do, some of them telling you where exactly to go, and others require you to find the target on your own. Either way, upon completing a mission given to you, the achievement will unlock. Macho Man 10 ![]() Defend a woman's honor. This requires you to do the mission, "A Woman Scorned". When going back to your house after visiting your father in jail, look around for a fist icon on your map. It will lead you to a woman that will ask you to beat up her cheating husband. Once you accept, go over to where the husband is in your map, and just beat him up. He will be all alone, so the fight itself is very easy. Once he runs away from you, the achievement will unlock. Steal Home 10 ![]() Win a race against thieves! A fairly easy achievement to do, races can easily be identified on your mini-map by the checkered patterns. There is a thief nearby where your father, Giovanni, is being imprisoned at. After you talk with the thief, you will have to beat his time. As long as you are quick with your jumps and climbing, and always sprint when possible, you can easily beat his time. Show your Colors 10 ![]() Wear the Auditore cape in each city. To unlock the Auditore cape, you must find and collect all 100 Feathers scattered throughout the game. Once you collect all of the feathers, go back to the Villa and put them in the chest in Maria's room. After the short scene, you must equip it. To equip it, pause the game, go to your inventory, and finally outfits. Go to the Auditore cape, and hit to equip it. From there, you must visit each of the cities in the game to unlock this achievement. You must also visit the mountain region in the game, where you escort Leonardo in the carriage. Handy Man 10 ![]() Upgrade a building in the Stronghold. At the beginning of DNA Sequence 4, you will gain the ability to renovate the city of Monteriggioni. You will be asked by the architect to choose which building you want to renovate. With the money you've gained, just choose any building you like, and the achievement will unlock. If you are short on money, the Tailor is the cheapest building to renovate, as it only requires 1000 Florins for the first renovation. I like the view 10 ![]() Synchronize 10 View Points. View points are the high areas in your map. They are marked by the eagle icons in your map, and always require you to climb up to them. Once you reach the top of the building that's marked, there is usually a short wooden beam that you can crouch on. From there, hit to synchronize with the view. Once that is done, a part of the map will become clear. Do this ten times over the course of the game for this achievement. High Dive 10 ![]() Perform a Leap of Faith from the Top of Florence's Giotto's Campanile. This can be done early on in the game. One of the first missions you will do as Ezio will have you go and beat up your sister's cheating boyfriend. The boyfriend just so happens to be right by this building, so once you finish the mission, it's just a matter of climbing all the way to the top of it, synchronizing with the view. Once you do the obligatory jump back to the ground, this achievement will unlock. Mailman 10 ![]() Intercept a Borgia Courier. Every so often, while roaming some of the bigger cities, you will see someone free running, trying to get away from you. For this achievement, you must stop the courier, either by tackling him, or killing him. Try not to mix them up with thieves, or corrupt noblemen who you can kill to decrease your notoriety. Couriers can be identified by the red capes they wear, and are marked by the red B on your map. Once you find one, they will be marked on your map, so it makes it much easier to find them. They aren't as fast as you are when it comes to running, but if you are having trouble catching up to one, use throwing knives. As long as they don't find a way to conceal themselves, you should usually be able to kill them outright. If they get far enough away from you though, they will disappear on your map, and you will have to wait for them to come again. Tip of the Iceberg 10 ![]() Use your Eagle Vision to scan a Glyph in the environment. This is an achievement in which you have to pay attention. All of the glyphs in this game are located near landmarks in the game that you eventually must visit. If you ever see a red eye on your map near a land mark, that means a glyph is there. To locate the glyph, you must go into Eagle Vision by holding the button, and you will notice it marked as a memory glitch of some sort. Once you find one, simply stand right next to it to start some dialogue, and net the achievement. A Piece of the Puzzle 10 ![]() Unlock a piece of Subject 16's video. Whenever you find glyph, there is a short puzzle that goes along with it that protects the contents of the file. Solve the puzzle on any glyph to unlock this achievement. By finding all of the glyphs and solving the puzzles, you will unlock the achievement Vitruvian Man. For locations of each glyph, click HERE. For solutions to the puzzles, click HERE. Art Connoisseur 10 ![]() Buy a Painting from Florence and Venice. A very easy achievement to knock out. You must buy a painting from an art store in both Florence and Venice, with the art stores being marked as paint brushes on your map. You don't need to get the most expensive paintings, simply buying the cheapest painting from each store is enough for the achievement. Podestà of Monteriggioni 30 ![]() Reach 80% of your stronghold's total value. This is an achievement that will take time to get. Buying weapons, armor, and paintings for display all go towards increasing your value, as well as renovating the city. As long as you take the time to invest in upgrades for Ezio and the city, you will get this achievement.

Perfect Harmony 10 ![]() Tint your clothes with those colors: Wetland Ebony and Wetland Ivory. You will need to go to a shop in Romagna/Forli (Rome) for this. Look around and try to find a Tailor to buy the dyes from, they are marked on your map with Tailor thimble. From there, go and buy both colors to unlock the achievement. It will take 2300 Florins to dye your suit Ebony, and 150 Florins for Ivory. In Memory of Petruccio 30 ![]() Collect all the Feathers. The new collectibles for this game, you must find 100 feathers scattered throughout the entire game. As you gather more and more, you will be rewarded for collecting 50, and 100 feathers. For collecting 50 feathers, you will unlock a hammer for use. At 100 feathers, you will unlock the Auditore cape, which is needed for the achievement Show your Colors. All the feathers you collect must be dropped off with Maria, your mother's room. You can check how many feathers in each city, and even each district. From the pause menu, go to DNA. After that, scroll all the way through until you reach the Feathers strand, and hit . From there, it will tell you how many feathers you have in each city. If you hit again on whatever city you want, it will tell you how many feathers you have. For Florence and Venice, it will actually tell you how many you have in each district.There is a complete guide that has locations and pictures for all the feathers in the game. Look HERE for the guide. Red Light Addict 10 ![]() Spend 5000 florins on Courtesans. Another achievement to grab over time. For this, you must spend 5000 Florins on courtesans. Whenever you recruit them, you spend 150 florins, so you must recruit them 34 times for this achievement. You can check how many courtesans you have hired through the pause menu. From the pause menu, go to Options, and Stats from there. Go down to Social, and it will tell you from there. Man of the People 10 ![]() Toss more than 300 florins on the ground. You gain the ability to throw florins during the mission "Arrivederci". First, you must select money throwing as your ability by hitting , and selecting it. From there, walk through the streets, and press . Every time you throw money, you will lose 10 florins. You must do this at least 30 times for the achievement. If you are hard pressed for money, try pickpocketing people first. While you may not get much from most people, it's a steady source of income, and can make this achievement much easier. Victory lies in preparation 10 ![]() Get all Hidden Blades, Item Pouches and Armor upgrades for Ezio. You don’t need to have the Altair armor for this. Progressing through the game will unlock different blades and upgrades. They are: Blades – Dual Blade, Poison Blade, and Pistol. All given to you by Leonardo. Item Pouches- The three types of pouches are Medicine, Knife Belt and Poison Vial. Each has a large and a medium size, you need both. These are purchased from the tailor. There are 4 types of Armor- Leather, Helmschmied, Metal and Missaglias. Each type of Armor has 4 parts- Greaves, Vambraces, Chest Guard and Spaulders. These are purchased from the blacksmith, which are the hammers on your map.

Is it just me, or are there only some maps on http://www.msxbox-world.com/features...d-II/index.php ?
I'm not complaining, just checking. Until those are done, is there another source as of now? Fantastic guide, though! |

You have to also realize that the game only came out yesterday. Considering the amount of collectibles, it's going to take some time for the community to create a solid guide.

There aren't any full maps yet, but there are a few other guides. I saw a link for a written guide that had a few other Cities done, but I can't find the link now...

Quick question, I completed "The Cowl Does Not Make the Monk" before reading this guide. Is there anyway to go back and do the mission, similar to Assassin's Creed 1? Please say there is. ;_;

Gosh, how painful would it be to get 995 on this game and realize the 5GS was a missable achievement that comes fairly deep into the game? There would definitely be gnashing of teeth and rendering of clothes on my part... right before inserting the game back into my 360 and playing through again. This comes from personal experience missing the Lucy achievement from AC1... which, incidentally, is why I started using this wonderful site.

Quick Question, If you can answer this without spoilers, after the game's main story has been completed can you continue to re-enter the Animus to finish getting the collectibles and things like in AC1? |

This same principle works for replaying missions, any missions including the one that you get fly swatter on. You go into DNA, go to a specific strand, hit A on the mission you want. Then it'll say replay memory. All you need to do is hit A again and boom you are back in a mission. I hope this helps everyone out in the long run with Achievements they thought they missed and with the feathers. So once again I'd like to re iterate that Fly Swatter IS NOT MISSABLE. |
