Electric Link in Co-op?

my brother and I are playing through Zhuge Liang's musuo mode and he is being Dio Chan. There is an electric link between us. What would be causing that? And does it make us more powerful?

If you both use mosou it will be like true mosou (when your helth's low) but stronger, and i think lightning comes down too. cant remebr though. it doesn't do anything else.

As the above said its like true musou and yes it is as im aware the strongest possible musou very handy for hard fights!
