complaints about natal already
ok so natal is what now just over 365 days away. its gonna be awsome i think, but what is with the hate for it,
i truely cant wait not to have a controller in my hand to play games. yet everywhere i see is , omg this is gonna flop, i am not gonna buy it, but my favorite is, you cant play games without a controller. this is total Bull. everyone who has played this have all said the same thing wow this is awsome, its so responsive, i thought it would suck but it dont. hell yes its gonna bring out the worst in some developers. but the best out of the others, fifa, nfl, tomb raider and im sure it will bring the best out of the fps genre. all the hate for something that you have not even seen up close, or even experienced i dont get it. it has all the potential to change the face of gaming and technollogy that we have all wanted and wished for since watching minority report and all the other films that use motion technollogy to control a computer or actions. if you watched gamer yet you will see that this is what natal is aming for, NO NOT THE CONTROL A HUMAN CONVICT, but when he is on his dashboard and the way he plays the game. it all was so smooth and thi sis why i am looking forward to natal. are you looking forawrd to natals technollogy advances with playing games, or one of these i need a controller to play my games.

I'm also astounded at the bad reception it's recieved, especially misinformed people thinking everygame is going to require you to lunge around. I think the fact it offers a new experience is enough to warrant a try, be it at a friends or buying it. It seems less of a novelty than the Wii, being more advanced and more powerful. Looking forward to using it, more for FPS (imagine a wireless gun accessory you could get, with a removable magazine and to reload and fire, you have to actually maneuver the weapon). Good times ahead!

cant wait to play without a controller
that is what i dont get, you have never played a game without a controller, so how can you say i dont want it for that reason alone, none of the ahh i dropped the controller on the floor now im dead, or quick cover cover cover( then a big flshing xbox 360 icon at the bottom of the screen) please reconnect controller. lol god i hate that. dont think of it as a wii attachment as its not the wii uses motion control but its still a controller. that is why i think the hate for the natal because the wii motion controller and the stupid party games, but natal is gonna be more than controller free games machine, its gonna be the future of everything that is interactive.

I'm interested in the technology but i'm not overly that keen on Natel just for the fact what are the games going to be like.
I know there are going to be a few older games which are going to adapt to this hardware but i just don't think i could handle playing a shooter with just my hands held up in front of me. I can see t here being a lot of interesting arcade style games which will be fun but i don't see this working as well as they are making out. They have only shown a single video at E3 which was interesting but nothing special. All other demo videos have been either Milo or a camera on someone playing the game but not showing the screen. Once i see more about this i don't think i will rush out and buy this product. I do think natal could change the way RPGs are played though. It would be the coolest thing to interact with the NPCs. |

I don't want Natal. I much prefer gaming with a standard controller. I even hate the motion on the PS3, and I rarely play the Wii because of the whole motion thing.
Gaming with a controller is my preferred method of gaming. |

Tbh i do think this is a good idea, but some of the games will be to hard to play, but on the other hand games will be better using natal.

As long as they dont "force" you to use it, I'm not too bothered. I'm quite interested in the other features, not just the motion controls.

I wont be getting Natal, I dont want it, like Tussell said, I just prefer gaming with a controller, I game to relax, not jump around.
What scares me, you already said in your post; "it will bring out the worst in developers". Even if 1 in 10 developers come up with some golden way of utilising Natal in games, that still leaves a lot of bullshit gimmicky motion based mini games in the market. I dont want that, let the Wii cover the gimmick market, give me more high framerate, high quality, face exploding. There was something else, but Ive forgotten for now. |

I would want it, Only reasons i dont is because..
My room is too small, and my television too close to my chair you normaly need to stand back for these things but My t.v wont fit on the part of the desk where my room is slightly open. Andd, its going to be put Into games! Like fable3, I would be cool if games were released that were made just for Natal, But games controllers are used for will be having natal features as well, Which means your probably going to have to buy The thing to get some of the acheivments, And you wont be able to see the whole game without natal, Unless they make it optional to use which i'd be happy with ![]() When i hurd about fable3 i was rly happy When i hurd project natal was going to be used on fable3 it was unhappy days ):

As long as developers use it to their advantage and don't over use it, I see no problem. But I don't want to see what happened with the Wii, practically hundreds of games are released (monthly) and all of them are cheap cash-ins for the casual gamer. I also don't want to have games that require Natal, that would just be a cash-in to make you buy the extra hardware.

I just hope every game has an option to play with a controller. I'll only use Natal for Racing games & maybe fighters.
I don't want to play Halo or COD while jumping around like an idiot, unless Microsoft makes a little gun accessory like the Wii has. That'd be cool. |

I don't understand how they can hate something that hasn't even come out. When it comes out, that's a different story. Can;'t hate until you try it...

only way i can see myself liking natal a bit, is if games have the option to play with a controller and have the full experience. like super smash with the wii mote or gamecube controller. what i WONT like is if they start making sequels to some of my fav games with natal as the only option (ahem, metroid prime corruption...)

I dont hate it. When it arrives, I will watch videos of it in use, research how developers are incorporating it etc etc.. but I have no desire to buy it.

I think it sounds interesting.
But I'm not really looking forward to it. I don't even think I will buy it. I'm sure it will be overpriced. Like many others, I also prefer to grab my controller, lay down and relax to some gaming after a long day.

I am looking forward to it for sure. I am not thinking that it will replace my controller for gaming in general but I am looking forward to what it will offer when it releases.
I have a feeling my favorite part will be using it to control the dashboard and such so that I don't have to continually turn my wireless controller back on when I need to rewind or pause and such... but hey, maybe I am wrong and it will actually "change the way I game" and I will enjoy it better than I am currently expecting. The truth (for me) is that I don't enjoy the Wii because there aren't great titles... maybe now that motion-based gaming is moving to Microsoft Studios that will change... but who really knows! =) Last edited by Mr Achievement; 10-08-2009 at 04:56 AM. |

I would use it alot, except for shooter games(online). Single player would be fun.

I don't really care about Natal. I don't hate it and I'm not that excited for it. As a technology, yes, it is amazing. But the Wii technology was also amazing for it's time. It isn't about the tech, it's about how it is applied. Yes, there is a potential because the Xbox 360 as a console has much better hardware and features than the Wii, along with much better third-party support. But I still think approaching a game so differently just seems very difficult to dish out consistent quality with.
Eventually the features of Natal will catch on though. The voice recognition and scanning will be the things easiest transitioned into games, because those could be in just about anything. But the actual motion gameplay itself seems pretty restricted. anyone remember the EyeToy? You needed a certain amount of light in the room for it to work. I don't see why Natal will be any different, which means no gaming at night. I think the biggest reason people take to it negatively is the same reason people took to PS3's motion negatively. They see that the Wii is obviously influencing their favorite console and they don't want to see their beloved system become reduced to the motion control trend. Even though I don't think either Sony or Microsoft will go the same route the Wii did with motion control, it definitely worries people that it's possible.

basically people are freaking out thinking that once natal comes out games will require it and everything will move to motion controlling.
Where as that was, and will never be, the case with the 360. Microsoft has made it very clear that natal is an accessory. Like wireless controllers, or the racing wheel. it's a 100% optional accessory. Will games come out that only work with natal, yeah most likely. but 99.9999999% of all main stream games will still work fine with just a controller and some may be natal enhanced with extra features or mini games (fable 3 for example) that you can use natal with. |

I have to say that I don't want it.
I have some controllers that work perfectly fine. It would be like the Wii as far as I'm concerned, the novelty of it will wear off after 2 weeks of owning it. The only thing it will be good for is reeling in some easy customers.

I won't get Natal for the same reasons everyone else is stating... I want to sit down and relax, that's why I play games.
A Hero Emerges, you're very much for not using controllers, but you would honestly say you'd enjoy running around your living room playing FIFA? Do you live on a 2nd floor apartment (like me)? If you do, I'm sure your neighbors down below will appreciate it. Also, have fun with those rug-burns when you go to slide tackle. Or how about you go in to work the next day and you can barely move your arm because it's sore from you performing 100 throws in Madden... Do you have kids, a wife, or a girlfriend that you live with? I'm sure they'll love waking up to all the racket you're making jumping around in your small living room, just playing a game at night time. You don't understand the reasons why so many people are against it, and that's just a sample. Many of us play our games at night, and don't want to disturb family members, or neighbors. Many of us don't have ample space to be acting like a gorilla in our living rooms. Also, many of us want to wind down, relax and play. Lastly, many of us feel much more comfortable with a controller in our hands. It's personal preference. And like someone else stated... Much like how the wiimote was a fad and wow'd people for a limited time, so will natal.
