Mini Ninjas Achievement Guide
Overview:
-Estimated achievement difficulty: 4/10
-Offline achievements: 35 for 1000
-Online achievements: None
-Approximate amount of time to get 1000: 5-10 hours
-Minimum number of playthroughs needed: 1
-Number of missable achievements: None
-Glitched achievements: None
-Do cheat codes disable achievements? No Cheats
-Does difficulty affect achievements? Yes. You must beat the game on hard to get creditfor the Hard Little Ninja achievement.
-Do the difficulties stack? Yes.

I put the achievements in the order of how I got them so, it may give you an idea of what occurs when. Hope it helps.

Found Futo - 10
Find Futo.
You will find Futo in the first chapter. This one is story related.

Off You Go - 20
Completed basic training.
This achievement is story related and you will get it shortly after finding Futo. Most of the basic training involves using Hiro, but there is a small part where you have to use Futo as well.

Tree Hugger - 10
Shake 15 trees.
Just simply walk up to any tree with fruit in it, the bushes won't count, and keep pressing the button to shake the tree. Do this 15 times and the achievement unlocks.

Bear With Me - 10
Defeat 10 enemies as the bear.
In the 2nd chapter of the game (Leaving Home) you will see a cut scene where the samurais are putting a bear into a cage. Simply use Hiro's spirit form kuji magic (select the spell with and then hit to use the spell) and take control of the bear. Just use the bear and attack (the button) 10 samurais with it. There are more than enough samurai to kill between the area with the bear and the end of the level so, just keep killing samurai with the bear until you get the achievement. If you get hit and you lose control of the bear, just simply hit again and take control of the bear again.

Found Suzume - 10
Find and free Suzume.
You get Suzume in the second level, shortly after freeing the bear. It's also story related.

Boardom - 10
Defeat 10 enemies as the boar.
Just like with the bear achievement. Just simply use Hiro's spirit kuji magic and take control of the boar. Do like you did with the bear (attack using ) and the achievement will unlock after you kill 10 samurai. This can be done in the same level as the bear achievement, as the boar is in a cage next to Suzume when you free her.

No Conjurer of Cheap Tricks - 20
Expend 1500 Ki using Kuji Magic.
This one will come naturally throughout the story. Just keep using your Kuji Magic () and it will unlock.

Big Guy - 10
Defeat a large one.
You first meet the large one in the Earth Castle. They can only be defeated with Futo. Simply switch to Futo () and use a combo of and and when you see the prompt for the button, use it.

Off the Richter Scale - 30
Defeat Boss Lumbering Fool.
This is the boss of the Earth Castle and he is simple to beat. Simply hide behind a pillar and wait for him to swing his sword. Once he does, the sword will get stuck in the pillar. At this point jump on his sword and you'll see a button match sequence begin. (, tap ,, tap , ) Simply hit the right buttons in the right order and he'll take damage. Simply do this 3 times and he's done and the achievement unlocks.

Pied Piper - 10
Incite 50 enemies to dance.
This has to be done with Suzume. Simply equip her () and use her special attack () and stand near enemies. Just keep doing it until you make 50 of them dance and the achievement is yours. The best place to do this is the Earth Castle. Just keep track of your special attacks and get as many enemies to dance at a time as you can. + error

- Smooth Sailing - 10
Flawless Great River Canyon rafting.
This one can be tricky. In the canyon level, once you get to the first set of rapids, you must steer your hat-boat clear of all the rocks and cliff ledges the entire way down thru both sets of rapids. If you hit anything, the achievement won't unlock. The way you can check if you've hit anything is by looking at the image of your hat in the upper right corner. If you hold back on the , as it will act like a brake and makes avoiding rocks much easier.

Found Shun - 10
Find and free Shun
Shun can be found near the early part of the level Distress Signal. This is also story related so you can't miss it.

Bow Before Me - 20
Defeat 50 enemies with the bow.
Basically you just have to kill 50 enemies with Shun. A majority, if not all, of this can be done in the same level you get him. Once you free him, just select him () and just spam arrows on every enemy you see in the level. If you don't get 50 kills in this level, just finish the achievement in the next level.

Silent Assas... Ninja - 50
Complete a level without being seen.
Credit goes to vl Demon lv for finding this method.
Once you beat the Great Canyon level, exit out to the main menu and replay the level. All you have to do is go down the main path and jump in the water when you get to it. From there take your hat-boat over to the waterfalls, the 2nd waterfall specifically, and go up the path behind it. The path starts just to the left of the waterfall. Once you reach the top of the waterfalls, go right and you'll see a small ledge. Follow the ledges around until just before reaching a bridge, but don't get too close. Beneath you will be a body of water split into 2 parts by a bunch of rocks. When you can jump to the right side of the rocks, do so. From there, hug the right wall in your hat-boat and just go down the rapids. Once you exit the level, the achievement will unlock. It's that simple.

Don't Blame it on the Sunshine - 10
Bring Sunshine to all the Denizens of the Graveyard
Once you get into the graveyard (Haunted Forest chapter) you'll encounter ghosts. They can only be killed using the Sunrays spell, which you get in the graveyard. Find the shrine, use your detect kuji magic spell to find it, and get the Sunrays spell. Once you get it, you MUST kill all the ghosts with the spell. Once you kill the last ghost, the achievement unlocks.

Now You See Me... - 40
Defeat 100 enemies using stealth attack.
You should get this one before you finish the game. To do a stealth attack, simply hide in a bush, grass, or behind a tree or rock and hit . Once enemies are well enough within range, walk up behind them and hit . It is possible to kill multiple enemies with one stealth attack so if you get the chance to do it, take it. It doesn't matter what character you use either.

Smell You Later - 30
Defeat boss Windy Pants.
This is the boss of the Wind Castle and he uses farts as attacks. He takes 3 sets of attacks to beat. He doesn't move and only has 3 attacks. Basically just wait for him to let out a fart cloud and have it chase you back towards him. From there it would go as follows (, tap , , tap , ). Repeat this 3 times and he's toast. Just watch out for his charged fart attack as the only way to avoid it is to jump at just the right time. You'll know it's coming when he starts to strain loudly.

Found Tora - 10
Find and free Tora.
Tora can be found in the Grassy Hills chapter. This is also story related.

Tripped and Fell - 30
Defeat Boss Timid Swimmer.
This boss is also very easy. There are 3 red pillars that you have to get him to cut down. The first is in the back when you start. Run up the stairs and hide behind it and he'll cut it down. From there you use the button match sequence yet again. (, tap , , , , , ) From there, go right to the 2nd red pillar. Use the sequence (, tap , , , tap , , , ). Then go left to the last red pillar and the final sequence is as follows (, tap , , , , , , , ).

Botanist - 30
Collect one of each ingredient.
There are a total of 12 ingredients. Below is the name of each ingredient as well as the first level you can find them. They appear a lot in the game so if you don't find a certain 1 right away, chances are you'll find all 12 at least once by the end of the game.

Blue Petal-Ninja Mountain (Ch. 1)
Oyster Mushroom-Ninja Mountain (Ch. 1)
Ginseng Root-Ninja Mountain (Ch. 1)
Anemone-Ninja Mountain (Ch. 1)
Spear of Ashida-Ninja Mountain (Ch. 1)
Tiger Lilly-Leaving Home (Ch. 2)
Stone Cap-Leaving Home (Ch. 2)
Burdock Flower-Leaving Home (Ch. 2)
Horse Tails-A Distress Signal (Ch. 5)
Sacred Lotus-A Distress Signal (Ch. 5)
Wild Parsley-Winter Range (Ch. 11)
Mountain Fire-Winter Range (Ch. 11)

Tengu Friend - 40
Complete all Wandering Tengu quests.
There are a total of 5 Tengu that need help, and they are listed by chapter name and what you need to do for them.
1) Leaving Home-Tengu in the village: Destroy all samurai on other side of the bridge. Just kill all the samurai across the bridge and that's it. There are a total of 13 that need to be killed.
2) Leaving Home-Tengu near the Temple: He wants a Burdock Flower. The Burdock Flower is right up the stairs near the temple, behind a few statues.
3) Haunted Forest-Tengu in the woods to the left of the main path from start: He wants a Spear of Ashida. You should have 1 to spare so just hand it over to him.
4) Flooded Valley-Tengu near the start of the level: He just wants you to go to the temple and check on the Tengu there. Once you return, he gives you the sturdy rod, which will get the Koi to drag you into the next area.
5) Winter Range-Tengu by the split in the path near the start: He just wants a Tiger Lilly. Just hand one over and you're done. The achievement unlocks right after doing this.

Eat My Dust - 10
Travel far in full gallop.
This one seems to confuse a lot of people. You have to use Tora and you have to do 1 of 2 things. Either use 20 of his special attacks (), or kill 20-30 samurais using the special attack. It will unlock at some point while attempting this.

Found Kunoichi - 10
Find and free Kunoichi.
Kunoichi is found in the Winter Range level. Finding her will unlock 2 achievements.

Lost and Found - 20
Retrieve all five missing ninja.
Simply find all 5 ninjas and this will unlock. It should unlock right after you rescue Kunoichi.

Poker - 10
Defeat 30 spearmen with the spear.
Simply kill 30 spearmen with Kunoichi. Easiest way to do it, is just select her () anytime you come close to a spearmen and just defeat them.

Sage of Philosophy - 50
Reach level cap.
There are a total of 15 levels you can earn. You should get this one before beating the game. You get experience for killing enemies and freeing animals.

Crash Landing - 30
Defeat Boss Screeching Owl.
This guy is fairly easy. Just wait for him to be down on the roof and run up to him and enjoy yet another button relay sequence. (, tap , , ). Repeat this once more and he'll perch himself on the very top of the roof. Just run up top and hit the final sequence. (, tap , , tap , , , , )

Avalanche - 10
Defeat an enemy as a snowball.
This one can be tricky. In the level after you defeat the Screeching Owl, you'll start off by racing down a mountain to avoid an avalanche. At one point you'll hit a jump and there will be a platform in the middle. The best way to do this is hit the jump full speed ( to boost) and hit the platform in the middle and immediately veer off to the right. Then quickly try to hit a tree or rock to turn into a snowball. From there just roll over an enemy and it unlocks. If you don't get it right away, just let the avalanche get you and try again. (Thanks to here2infirmary for correcting this.)

- Sightseeing - 30
Visit all temples.
There are a total of 6 Temples you must visit. Below are the chapters in which you can find them.
Temple 1-Leaving home (Chapter 2) go up the stairs by the Tengu that wants a burdock flower.
Temple 2-A Distress Signal (Chapter 5) once you enter the area with mostly water, just after rescuing Shun, the temple is up a hill to the far right of the map.
Temple 3-Grassy Hills (Chapter 8) When you see the split at the 2nd burning tree, go right and you'll eventually see the temple on your right.
Temple 4-Flooded Valley (Chapter 9) it's on the far right of where you start. You must go there by way of your hat-boat.
Temple 5-Winter Range (Chapter 11) Just after you free Kunoichi, you'll see the temple entrance right around the corner.
Temple 6-Volcano's Shadow (Chapter 14) once you reach the frozen waterfall, you'll see the temple entrance to the right of it. The achievement should unlock as you are walking up the steps.

Stop! Futo Time! - 20
Use Futo in combat on all levels.
Simply use Futo once per level. All you have to do is select him () and fight and kill just 1 enemy per level with him. That's all it takes. The only exception is boss fights.

Restore Balance - 40
Defeat the Evil Samurai Warlord.
This guy is a pain in the ass, mainly because many purple energy balls that act as a shield protect him. The best way to beat him is to spam him with meteor storm. Be sure to kill his minions for a Ki boost when you are running low. After you've killed so many of his orbs, he'll come at you with a blue rain-like attack and he will follow you. This is easy to avoid. Just keep running ( ). Then when he lands again spam him with more meteor storm spells. After you've destroyed most of his orbs he'll really come at you, but this time with lightning. The best way to avoid it is to cast the slow time spell (select it with and then to use it) and it'll slow him down giving you plenty of time to recharge and avoid this attack as it will kill you quickly. He'll eventually come out of the spell and get a few good hits on you regardless, just be ready to heal ASAP. When he lands, finish him off with meteor storm and he's done.

Little Ninja - 50
Complete game on easy or medium difficulty.
See "Hard Little Ninja."

Hard Little Ninja - 100
Complete game on hard difficulty.
The difficulty achievements stack so if you give the game a single play through on hard you'll get 3 achievements when you beat the Evil Warlord.

Completist - 100
Collect all Jizo statues.
The location of all 100 Jizo statues can be found here.

Animal Friend - 100
Free all caged animals.
The location of all the caged animals can be found on the list I'm working on now, and it should be posted by tomorrow evening.

Sorry for the delay folks. Word of advice though. If you ever make a guide for this site, DON'T do it on a desktop. That or email yourself the work. Having your desktop crash on you sucks ass. What sucks more is having to shell out $500 plus for a laptop and a wireless mouse. So again, sorry for the delay and good luck.

Anyway I was thinking of getting this game on Friday, how would you rate the game play overall? Worth buying?

It's a judgement call on you really. I had fun with it and I'm a huge ninja mark so I bought it. Granted you can get everything in 1 playthrough, the choice is really yours. I also got the game a week earlier than everyone else so I had a slight edge on everyone else. Rent or buy, it's your call. The game play itself is pretty good. The only thing that may annoy you, is the camera at times, but everything else is fairly smooth and simple to do.

That would be awesome, but unfortunately, there are not any avatar awards for this game. Just 35 achievements and 2 unlockable gamerpics.

Hmmm. It unlocked for me at the last guy when I handed him the Tiger Lilly. Did you talk to them all after doing their quests? Or maybe you have to talk to all the Tengus? I talked to every Tengu, but only those 5 had quests for me. The other 2 or 3 I talked to just spouted stuff about Good Luck Ninja or I miss my Tengu brothers. That's odd.

Which level? I'm assuming you mean the anemone for a kuji shrine correct?
