Easy Top 1000 - Bonecrusher Achievement (even easy top 20 at the time of writing!)

HINT FOR SCORE LEADERBOARD

For the top 1000 leaderboard achievment, simply play the Decepticon Training mission. There is still room in the score leaderboard to be the top 1000 by getting the mission maximum score (or just by getting an easy high score only).

The maximum score in this mission is 70500. There are less than 20 entries have the maximum mission score in the leaderboatd at the time of writing (Jul 27, 2009), i.e. 980+ entries available.

Applicable to any missions in the game, all you need to do for getting mission maximum score are:
1. Use charged melee attack or any overdrive attack to takedown enemies as much as possible, i.e. Charged/Overdrive Takedown.
(worth maximum 4000 energons per takedown, depends on enemy types.)
2. Keep primary and secondary weapon in high accuracy.
(worth 25000 energons; 100% is the best, but not a must; Note that there is no vehicle weapon nor any melee attack accurancy being counted.)
3. Collect all 5 skill shots.
(worth 10000 energons)
4. Complete both bonus objectives.
(worth 15000 x2 energons, but not available in training missions.)

Also note that time is not an issue in score attack, but you must have at least a bronze medal for the leaderboard. However, it is easy to get both platinum medal (finish less than 6 minutes) and maximum score (70500 energons) at a time at the Decepticon Training mission.

Above information is enough to rank in even the top 100 in most score leaderboard.

This Decepticon Training mission is the easiest and fastest to get a mission maximum score. It is because the enemies will not move or will not move fast and there is no bonus objective. One more thing, this mission is immediate available, you may need to get this achievement faster than other ranking hunters.

If the top 1000 is full of maximum score 70500 in the score leaderboard of Decepticon Training mission, try the racing type missions because there are only two enemies to make getting maximum mission score fast and easy.

Note that there is a glitch that the record (score or time) will not upload to leaderboard automatically. You may need to exit to the war room and view the leaderboard to activate the record upload process in order to get the achievment. Sometimes you may need to read the leaderboard twice or play the mission again to push your latested best record to leaderboard.


BTW, my ranks in Decepticon Training Leaderboard (Normal Level):
Time - Rank 1: 03:39.14 (as of July 26, 2009)
Score - Rank 11: 70500 (mission maximum score)

Still works! Just borrowed this game, played the training once and got the first two leaderboard achievements. Then played again knowing what I was doing, and got a perfect score and the last achievement. This was one achievement I was worried about and it took less than 15 minutes (half of which I would have had to do to beat the game anyway)

Awesome tips dude, Got it on my second attempt at the training level. Though it would be nigh on impossible to get this unless you got the game on release day. Glad I was wrong

For anyone still looking to get this achievement, i would suggest doing the Autobot Training mission. Aim for a time of 5m17sec - 5m19sec. I did it first time at 5m20sec and i was sitting 992 on the leaderboard.


That should net you the Bonecrusher....

For anyone still looking for this achievement, play the mission "For the Love of Sam" I had over seven minutes and was ranked just over 1,000 and some change.

Trying to grind out this achievement I decided to replay this mission with Ironhide and saved my overdrive for Grindor beat the mission in just over five minutes. A platinum is seven minutes. My rank now is 634. When I was just over 1,000, I only had a gold.

To summarize, play "For the Love of Sam" and get a platinum.

got mine after completing the decepticon training mission on expert. Didn't do that well at all but still finished in the top 1500 and for some reason Bonecrusher unlocked for me.

also just getting high silver or gold times on any autobot mission on expert will easily land you a spot in the top 1000

my best rank for a single mission is #42(really on my third day of playing this game on first attempt with all the weapons powered up) on the decepticon mission where you have to defeat jetfire and bumblebee on normal. used megatron
