Right so im feeling like starting a PROPER discussion becasue this is something that im 100% genuinly intressted in , rather my usual random question lol.
So yeah as the title states what is your opinion of the best Vampire film - Please give a description and maybe we can get talking
EDIT : I just realised that I never said about my favourite films LOL
gotta say 30days of night is right up there because of the brutelness and the fact I read the graphic novels
Underworld series..also is amazing the whole vampire-werewolf story is truly epic
I have a whole of vampire DVDs as well a few indapendant ones as well , I'll post a picture if any one is intressted ?
The Lost Boys is a 1987 American horror film about two young Arizonans who move to California and end up fighting a gang of teenage vampires.
I didn't feel like explaining it because I would have went into too much detail, so I figured I'd make it easier on both you and I, and just copy+paste some information from Wikipedia.
Anyways, this is easily one of the best vampire films.

I have quite a few that I have enjoyed over the years. It would be difficult for me to pick a favorite. If I had to I'd go with the original Nosferatu (1922). I just thought it was brilliant. It was also a silent film, yet it was very cool imo. I would consider it the first "horror" film every made, not just vampire film. Didn't want to type out a long rant about the film...You can look it up. I'll throw a few of my other favs on here for the hell of it...
Blade, Salem's Lot, From Dusk til Dawn, The Lost Boys...
And of course a few somewhat cheezy ones that I still enjoyed:
The Monster Squad, Fright Night, John Carpenter's Vampires, Bordello of Blood, Once Bitten...

God, your post made me realize how many good vampire flicks there are. Unfortunately, all the From Dusk Til Dawn sequels sucked!
Fright Night is a wonderful film! One of the first vampire films I've ever seen!

lol...I totally agree about Dusk Til Dawn...I couldn't even make it through the 2nd one. Only prefer the original. Fright Night is just badass! It was also one of the first ones I'd seen. I remember watching it when I was younger and I own it on dvd now. That reminds me, not really a vampire flick, but I picked up another old school horror flick at Target the other day for like 5 bucks. Trick or Treat starring Ozzy, lol. Classic...
Edit: About Nosferatu. The entire silent film was on Youtube for awhile, but I haven't checked in awhile they might have pulled it. There are numerous "editions" of the film, but I personally own this one:
Nosferatu is great, I get chills every time I watch it! I haven't seen it for a while, the last time I saw it was in film analysis! Damn, I need to go out and buy that movie as soon as possible!

I like a lot of them listed (Blade, Underworld, etc)
One I havent seen I really liked was
*Queen of the Damned
My favorite band is Korn so I am obviously bias!
OMG i totally forgot lol , everyone i have spoke thought this film was horrible but i properly loved it not as good as interveiw with the vampire but still i love this film - i might watch it tonight now
My fave Vamp films are... Blade, Underworld, Lost Boys i have others that i like but there the ones i like the most, Also what i thought was qiute good was Blood the last vampire.
Good vampire movies? I'll probably have to go with (in no particular order):
From Dusk 'Til Dawn
Queen of the Damned
The Lost Boys
Fright Night
Shadow Of The Vampire
Blade
Blade II
The following films are the best that I can think of that are my favourites:
30 Days of Night
The Lost Boys
Blade / Blade 2
Near Dark
There are probably a few more, but I can't think of them right now. I'm really looking forward to 'Daybreakers' when that's released, but I don't think it's out until next year. Look for the trailer on Youtube, looks great.
I haven't seen 'Let The Right One In' yet, but I heard it's good. Salem's Lot is a good film, but it's so dated now that I don't think I could watch it again. Blade 3 was a travesty and quite an insult to the 2 before it. The Underworld series is good with the exception of the 3rd one which really didn't need to be made at all and if you haven't seen it yet, your not missing out on much.
Oh and 'John Carpenter's Vampires'.... What a hoot !
Cheers guys all teh films i aint seen that have been mention totally gonna check them out especially let the right one in.
Also @ rvlution - i have been meaning to pick up the i am legend book , but im currently reading obama's books lol , im not huge on reading so it only gets slotted in now and again - but its usually in chunks becasue in get engrossed lol
Oh I forgot about 30 Days of Night, that was a great film, and the internet shorts that linked in the story weren't that bad either.
What about Dracula 2000, I was expecting a right pile of ...., but it wasn't that bad a film, enjoyable.
And how about Vampire with James Wood, not the sequel with Jon Bon Jovi in!
