Activision launches DJ Hero site

Here is some news on DJ Hero, looks interesting

Activision's launched a website for not-so-secret Guitar Hero spin-off, DJ Hero, which is now confirmed to be in development at London-based FreeStyleGames.

The site gives nothing away, really, other than the above developer and confirmation that it's headed for Xbox 360, "PlayStation" (which could mean PS3 and PSP) and Wii.

DJ Hero first surfaced in a trademark early last year, and is said to utilise a new turntable-style controller and a set-up that has coloured icons scrolling around a virtual on-screen record.

A report linking electronic dance music DJ Tiesto to the game, and claiming a release date this summer, was recently denied by the artist. The summer 2009 release date in the same report though is looking bang on.

This is great news... I dont like the other musical games and am very much looking fwd to this game

Interesting idea and concept on paper. I personally won't be getting this, but who knows how good this could be.

I dont really understand how this will work, seeing as you dont really press buttons like you can for guitar hero. I just dont get it!

Im guessing itll be similar to beatmania as the other now popular peripheral games have taken what konami started and marketed it properly.
I do love guitar hero and rock band though and if they activision pull it off well it is gonna be a fantastic game.

I remember hearing a couple of years ago on Major Nelson's podcast that Activision had copyright the names Guitar Villain, Guitar Menace, things of that nature.

now THAT would be

A) Stupid
B) Stretching It
