Despite what you see in Call of Duty and Medal of Honor games, the M1 Garand can, in fact, be reloaded. I was poking around Gearbox's website for info on Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway and as it turns out, they have debunked a misconception that the CoD and MoH franchises have been perpetuating in their respective series.
The truth is that you can load, unload and reload the M1 Garand. Not something you'd necessarily want to do in a fire-fight because of the way it discharges the ammo though... Anyway, found it interesting. |

"It is possible to load single cartridges into a partially loaded clip while the clip is still in the magazine, but this requires both hands and a bit of practice. In reality, this procedure was rarely performed in combat, as the danger of loading dirt along with the cartridges increased the chances of malfunction, not to mention the added delay in returning fire." (Quoted from Wikipedia)
Just for a little more information on the matter! Pretty cool stuff.... Although If they are planning on putting this reload type in a game it will be very hard to be accurate to real life! |

M1s are cool...I want to start collecting weapons...mostly anything I can get my hands on. The M1 and the Thompson are ones that I would love to have. The problem is with the Thompson...a working one is extremely expensive costing around 15,000 bucks.
