Really? I thought they looked easier.. But then again, I havent played one of these hunting games in AGES..

I agree they look alot easier, also they are totally different. no more platinum badges etc.

I have just done the Yellow Billed Duck hunt on the third day, of the first country (the one in the boat) 3 times without missing a shot and haven't got the achievement. I'am I doing something wrong or do you get it in a different place?

PS The achievements are alot easier.

I think I have found the easiest way to get these two achievements:

Fast and Perfect - 20:
Take a perfect shot within one minute of a mission starting.

Super Long Shot - 20:
Shoot and kill a trophy from 150 or more yards.

Its been a while since I've played, but I got both of these on the "hunt 1 cheetah" mission.

From the start, you can look to your left a bit and see a cheetah on the hillside. Your starting range is about 135 yards or so, but you can back up towards the invisable wall for more distance. You can still see the cheetah quite well, and it should put you at about a 152yd distance or so. Take the shot, and if it isnt perfect, restart the mission and try it again.

I found this scenario to be the best for these because the animal is visable from the start of the hunt, and you can backup to the Super Long Shot range without losing track of the animal.

thats an awesome tip, im gonna remember that, i actually havnt played it yet but ive been trying to check with people to see if it took a long time to get 1K, is this game one that is quick?

Yea, the achievements come real easy, but make sure you play it through on Expert, its not hard, you just dont get dots on your map to show you where the animals are (I think), but you cant get all the achievements unless you play through on Expert, so it depends if you wanna it play it once or twice

You don't get the dots, but it tells you where to go and what gun to use. It doesn't get much easier then that.

for the 150 yard and perfect shot in under a min i got on the herd missions. the game is easy overall but the herd missions are ridiculous.

to get the perfect shot birds achievement you can't use the custom guns you MUST use the regular gun that is suggested

I just rented this for 2 nights, played it for about 2 hours and rattled off a quick 520 points. This will be an easy 1000/1000

This game is actaully pretty cool, blowing off helpless little dows faces is always a blast. These are actaully the hardest missions, trying to find like 5 pygmy deerlike animals

For the "Expert" achievements, do you have to perform the whole Safari on expert, or can you replay those particular Trophy Hunts on expert to get the achievements?

Edit: NM, I forgot you select the difficulty when you first fire up your save.

Hey, does anyone know if there are any "missable" achievements in this game? Like is there anything that I could fail to achieve that would require me to play through the game again? Or is everything easily replayable to get the achievements? I'm starting out playing on expert difficulty. Thanks.

The "get 5 birds without missing a shot" and the "ambient guardian" has to be done right or you have to play it again. If you miss a bird, restart because it will not return further in the game. If you shoot an animal you're not supposed to, restart otherwise you will not be having the ambient guardian.

Ok, thanks for the help. I just finished the game and I missed 2 achievements, "Turtle Dove Perfect Wing" and "Hunter Super Sense". I just tried to do the turtle dove achievement in open safari and it wouldnt unlock. So I guess I have to start a new game in safari mode, is this correct? Also, for the hunter super sense, does this have to be done in safari mode as well or could I do it in open safari mode?

Are there seven countries for each trophy animal in safari mode? I found a guide and it says there is only 5 so it's peeked my curiosity.

i was doing the training missions (last 10 points to get) GOT TO THE FINAL MISSION and disk read error nooo. im gonna have to do it all again lame

For those that asked, the perfect wing achievements are only obtainable when you're hunting a specific bird ON FOOT. The hunts where you're being ferried around in the boat DO NOT count for the perfect wing achievements.

How long did it take some of you to finish this game? I keep running out of time before I even FIND all the animals on expert difficulty. There has GOT to be an easier way because I have played some of these hunts 5 or more times each before I actually get them all in time.

You cant be in the boat to get this achievement. you have to be on foot to get it

In some of the missions I was pretty frustrated.
Especially when there's a lot of brush, you can't see well, & the other animals are trying to KILL YOU. Aaaahhh

Anyway, the site of the gun turns red when you get close, that's the best detector I found, then start looking around.
Also, when you find them on a particular map, if time is running out, restart & go directly to that spot.
I did this on the map where there's a little deer like critter hiding in the brush.
I kept running & shooting to avoid the freaking water buffalo.

I agree the achievements are not difficult just time consuming as is the case in a few of the Cabela brand games that I have played. Expert mode is not as hard as I figured it would be without the dots.

would that include all the Perfect Wing achievements? I shoot some Spur Winged Goose in a boat, got the 100% but no achievement.

this was much easier than alaskan but it was still a really fun game
