I can't recall any specific events but yeah, I do know how that feels.
It makes you wish you just waited a few more days for it to have a discount.

I purchased Left 4 Dead's Crash Course Campaign for 560 points back in March. The DLC then went on sale for 320 points 2 weeks later on Deal Of The Week. I was pretty freakin pissed .

I've bought some games and they went deal of the week later that month, but that's about it (Where's Waldo).

My buddy had the best one, though. He got the free 800MSP in November and spent it on Monkey Island which went on sale the next day. We bug him about that a lot, but really, if you download enough content, it will happen to everyone eventually.

Pretty much 50% of the things I bought or received this Christmas (games dvds etc) are half price in the shops on Boxing day.

Next year me and my family are giving a "here's a list of presents I'm buying you on boxing day when they're half price" for Christmas.

But no seriously, I'm glad I got it on DotW, otherwise I wouldn't have bought it. And the easy 200G is nice too.

Anyway..., the problem I have is that I can become too hesitant when buying a new game because I worry that the game will become cheaper in a few days/weeks.

I haven't had this happen a TON, but it has happened a few times. I bought Monday night combat and Hydro Thunder and they were 50% off. I'm not super upset about it where it's usually a couple months later, but in this case i don't even think sonic has been out for a month.

I think the fastest I have seen for release to Deal of the Week is 3 months. But remember all the people who were talking about waiting for the Marvel Ultimate Alliance DLC to go on Deal of the Week (delisted for good tomorrow, BTW), there is no guarantee that anything will go on Deal of the Week, so if you wait, you could be waiting a long time. Just accept it as a fact of life that at some point, you will buy something and it will go on sale shortly after.

And Waldo is a horrendous 200 when you are trying to correct a glitched achievement. But yeah, paid full price because I wanted a game I could play on my laptop while I was away from home for a few days.

I always wait, I don't like spending too much money when out to the shops either so it carries over to everything else...

I was going to purchase the New Revolution (Borderlands) DLC when it first came out, luckily I waited and TADA!!!! it was half price a week or so back so I bought it them. Same with Zombie Apoc and the RE5 DLC, but I could have easily gone to the store and bought that for a decent price.

Just wait, be patient!

I bought a Queen song on Rock Band ("Killer Queen") the day before it was announced that it was being released again with a keyboard chart (the only damn instrument worth playing in the song).

Thankfully it was still a low price to pay, and I got a DLC achievement because of it (I don't like Queen, so that's why I downloaded it in the first place). Still, very annoying all the same. I'm almost certain one of my arcade titles went on discount shortly after buying it, but I can't think which one it was for the life of me- which is probably a good thing, as I'd rage if I knew which one it was I have about 40 arcade games now, and I'm happy to say at least 25 of them were bought through deals.

Have you considered contacting Xbox Support and asking nicely if they'll refund you the difference? Worst that can happen is that they'll say no.
