For 10 dollars its a good start. Overall the game is pretty decent, but does get boring after you master the mechanics of the game. The other game modes while nice, are a bit shallow in depth, but are a nice addition as more games should do this to stretch the dollar value of the game.

If you like the genre, as you stated, you really cant go wrong buying this game.

Buy Ikaruga. It's the best shootemup you can find in XBOXLIVE Arcade.

I tried the demo of PowerUp and I think it's a bit generic, with a classic gameplay of double thumbstick to move and shoot. I prefer GeometryWars because it has the same formula but is more challenging.

Anyway, I don't think that Powerup is a bad game, but it lacks of originality. Maybe the complete game offers a more innovative experience, but this is something that I don't know....

The game is amazing, but it gets hard even on easy mode. I played the trial and I just had to buy it. Great game and if you don't have ikaruga, you should get it. A definite buy in my opinion.

Thanks guys, gave the demo a whirl yday and it def seems worth the money to me. Shame the even better Meteos Wars is out at the same time!!!

I couldn't stand meteos wars for the 360. I loved the original meteos on DS but I didn't find it worked as well with the 360 controller.

How long does the game last?

It says it has like infinite power ups and infinite whatever. Will I be able to get to like level 900 and shoot 900 bullets every half a second?

It is stated that it has infinite levels, but after around level 10-15, I'm not sure, you stop getting stronger weapons, and you get an overcharge powerup. Overcharge is when you get an extra energy bar for weapons. The game is awesome though, but its hard to get some achievements, most of the achievements are doable though.

Figured there was no need to start a new thread for this, but was just wondering how hard this game was?

I played the demo and really liked it, but these kind of game I've always sucked at, that's why I liked this one, I actually was doing decently.

So I just wanna make sure I don't get owned playing it, especially if I shell out the 800 points for it.

I have it and its pretty tough I think.. Im not to good at games like GW and such but I love to try and play, I think ive gotten to level 5-6 is the highest I've made it

This game is definitely tough, but you don't die in one hit like in GW and can also re-charge your shield if you back-off. Kind of melts your brain after an hour or so tho...but in a good way :-)
