An easy way to do Play Fight, The Reel Thing and any other that requires dodging stuff being thrown at you is to just stand out of the picture. I would just move off to the side of the camera and obviously not get hit by anything. If there were objects to hit I would just wave my fingers in front of the camera. Worked everytime for me at least.
