Chr0n0
The Only Guide To Beating Horde You Will Ever Need! I recommend playing on Casual for the achievements Special Thanks to Flawless Oddity. Thanks to a trillionair, AgEnT STARZz, Akumario, BigT951, Caruto360, ChillcoRE, cool4joe, GTukC, e-man, Iv VeNoM vI, J Lew332, neeker75, rickyfeeney, RITCHI3-08, SebastianSB, Shipley0110, sjanuary99, spitefac3, Tastey Cake, Tommy English GENERAL TIPS 1. Setup A Private Live Match (So can restart from last wave) 2. Let The Locust Come To You 3. Use Cover 3a Grenade Mine Doorways, Stairs 3b Plant Boomshields To Block Doorways. 4. Remeber Pick Up Planted Boomshields Before Killing Last Locust So They Don't Vanish. Down Him And Let Him Bleed Out While You Get Shields & Ammo 5. Pick Up Locust Weapons Like The Grinder & Scorcher Whenever You Can 7. Work Together 7a. Don't Bunch Up, You Don't Want To Lose Half Your Team To A Boomshot MAP TACTICS AVALANCHE Provider: Shipley0110 Statue Run to the statue at the bottom of the mountain where the avalanche comes from. Here you have a good view across the middle, can see down the corridors of the two buildings & the spawn points behind the buildings. Have someone on either set of stairs to watch for attacks & a couple scattered across the middle to pick off what they can. Use a boomshield planted at the top of the stairs with a poison nade half way down the stairs as a proximity. BLOOD DRIVE Provider: Tastey Cake Corridor Stay in the small corridor near to the boltok/gorgon spawn. Once the first mauler is down take his shield to block the doorway. From there, enemies are funnelled up the staircase & can be killed. 4 people lancer/hammerburst & 1 shottys up near the shield. The corridor is long enough to avoid gas nades that kantus throw. After each round run out for ammo. DAY ONE Providers: BigT951, Caruto360, J Lew332, neeker75, a trillionair, ChillcoRE, True I Skill One Balcony Go upstairs & keep firing down, an ammo box spawns in the middle, between the cars. There is a super weapon (mortar, minigun, hammer of dawn) that respawns every 2-3 minutes. When the big guys come they will usually stand in groups. Stand on the top of the stairs & use mortar to kill the whole group. When the Mauler comes out. Kill one & stab his boomshield into the stairs, NONE will be able to come up. Stay up against one of the signs & ONLY aim at the stairs, wait for enemies to come. Dont look over the edge. Two Balcony Half of your team on one balcony & the rest on the other. You can put the shield up, but you don't really need it. Have one person mowing them down when they come upstairs. Key factor is the hammer of dawn, that usually spawns on the balcony. Where sniper/torque bow spawns is a spot right behind the weapon where u can jump over & u have cover on both sides. hard to explain but u will know it when u see it. Stay there & pick them off. Big guys can't get you. If you have 5 players, one person pick up Sniper & go to one of the stairs to snipe. Another guy alternates between the Hammer of Dawn and the Mortar. Other three keep their weapons two of them always cover the staircases. One go down to street level to check locations of enemies & take out loose ones. HAIL Provider: e-man Keep Your Limbs Inside At All Times! 2 Players. There is a tram at bottom of stairs on left if you're on stairs enemies cant get in. Ammo is to the left when inside facing the stairs. 3/5 Players. there is a tram at the other but the ammo is further away. JACINTO Providers: AgEnT STARZz, Chr0n0 Courtyard Stairs Start in a courtyard & run up a flight of stairs to a block before the main courtyard (with another set of stairs to the right), stay there. Just make sure they dont spawn behind you at the start of next wave! (have someone stand in that court at the begining of a new wave). Water Stairs A good area to defend is in the top left corner of the map as you face the water. Head downstairs at the far left & set up in the covered positions. Nothing can hit you from behind with your back water. Enemies have to shoot long range through a gap in the wall or come downstairs giving you plenty of warning. As bodies pile up, raid them for weapons. Once half the Locust are dead you should advance and hold the stairs by having one team member on each pillar left & right of the stairs while the rest run up to take cover behind the statue at the top. Plant Boomshields here & you will have a clear line on the Locust. PAVILLION Provider: Chr0n0 Holy Ground The church-like buildings on each side of the map are good for defending, split up & cover both entrances. Corridor There is a narrow corridor at the top centre of the map which you can close off with boomshields. Ammo respawns here in an alcove in the middle of the corridor so you can stay here. If you start to get overrun at either of these locations run to the other. RIVER Providers: Flawless Oddity, sjanuary99 Barn Dance Get in one of the barns and set two shields in front of the doors to keep big guys from getting in. Stay in barn and fire out the door, when one guy is left get ammo. Every other round you get respawning torque bows or snipers in barns, depending on where you are, you might want to make a run for the other barn or divide your team between the two. SECURITY Providers: cool4joe, Iv VeNoM vI, SebastianSB, spitefac3 Frickin' Lasers! There are two laser areas on this map, 1 small & 1 large on the other side of the map. The large area has a mortar and grinder. Go there and hit the switch to turn off lasers while you go inside. Stay here and defend. Some Locust will switch off lasers but you should have an easy time nonetheless. Hide & Seek Hide in the back corners where the grenades spawn, put up a line of boomshields by the stairs going down. With grenades, control the stairs and check the lasers once in a while. In the back area where the other lasers are, set 1 boomshield on each side and defend. STASIS Provider: Chr0n0 Grindin' In The Corner At the top of one set of stairs is a corner room with a long corridor running off it. In the corridor is a desk near this room, ideal for mounting a grinder. In the room is a low wall which gives a great angle for covering the stairs with a grinder. Get boomshields, plant either side of the desk and next to the low wall and stay there. CANALS Providers: Shipley0110, Chr0n0 Hold Your Spawn! Stay at your spawn point. Have 1 move back near the mesh gate to stop enemies spawning there. Use the corner at bottom of stairs for sniping the bridge. Rest of team move out to cover under bridge and stairs to side of it (Ammo spawns here). If getting overrun, retreat around corner. GRIDLOCK Providers: rickyfeeney, Tommy English Corner Hide in the little corners where the pistols are. Gun down anything that comes up the stairs or through the corridor area. Tower Run to tower opposite the Sniper spawn, put shields in backwards so the smaller locust don't kick the shields down. Put them at both ends of the stairwells to shut the bad guys out then hold the tower. MANSION Providers: Akumario, RITCHI3-08, SebastianSB Seige! Get your team to stay on the 2nd floor, you will see the enemies 1 by 1 through the front door. Use shields to block the entrance. Big guys can go around but they take a while to realise, so you can kill a few. It's a cramped level so enemies tend to come at you in single file. Or with a Team of 5: 1-2 at top of stairs. 2 At doors. 1 Helping Out. SUBWAY Provider: GTukC Camping In The Subway Camp at the grenade spawn, block off the stairs with a shield. Beware though, as Kantus lob ink grenades at you. Another good spot is in the train, along tracks from Torque, nothing can get in except drones. TYRO STATION Provider: Chr0n0 Playin' On The Tracks For teams of 2/3. When the round starts run for Torque Bow spawn at the end of the platform. Grab it for use on big enemies & stay here. 1st player watch the other platform/tracks, 2nd watch the open area on the other side of your position, 3rd helps out & watches your platform. Use shields to block path from tracks & along platform. Ammo spawns near your position so don't have to move far. Go Below With a team of 4/5 head under train tracks & get in cover. 2 pairs watch left/right routes into area while 5th player watches stairs from the tracks. Block stairs with a shield, use any more shields to close the left/right routes. Send one player at a time to secure weapons while others cover them. When down to the last guy send someone out to get sniper/torque before killing him. FUEL STATION Provider: Chr0n0 Rooftop Get to the fuel station, grab the grinder (it respawns often) and head out back & upto the roof. Use grinder at top of stairs while rest of team take positions around roof. Get a sniper or 2 asap and nothing should get close. Put a shield 1/2 way up stairs. Ammo is quite far to right of station on a long raised pathway send 1 at a time for ammo while others cover. Edited February 9, 2009 by Chr0n0 Added Fuel Station, Hail & Canals. DHsBnDtNvrWs
I think the other thread could still be used if people were to just ignore what that person said. But thanks to this guide, I now know that even planted shields disappear between rounds. Nice.
GTukC
You can also camp at grenades on Subway, just block off the stairs with a shield. Beware though as it gets harder them lanky sods tend to lob ink grenades in at you. Another good spot on Subway is to camp in the train just along the tracks from Torque, nothing can get in except drones, and they tend to stay back on casual and normal. Tried wave 49 on Insane earlier, jeez its ridiculous there was 3 of us and we just got smashed after about 45 seconds. Good laugh though. Good tips Chr0n0
sjanuary99
you should also add on the map river, that every other round you get infinite respawning torch bows and snipers in the barns. they switch every other round.

Hot Juicy Pie
We've done one on Blood drive and gone 1-50 several times. Just camp the small corridor adjacent from the spawn where the bultok/gorgon spawn. Once the first mauler is down take his shield to block the doorway. From there all enemies are funneled up the staircase and gunned down. 4 people lancer/hammerburst and 1 shottys up front near the shield. The corridor is long enough to avoid any gas grenades that kantus may throw. After each round run out real quick and loot corpses for ammo
RITCHI3-08
Mansion Team of 5 1-2 at the top of the stairs 2 At the doors 1 Helping Out I done waves 1-49 on Tyro Station Then Wave 50 On This

cool4joe
My friends and I hid in the back corners of Security where the grenades spawn and put up an entire line of boomshields by the stairs going down. With grenades you can control the stairs pretty easily and only check the lasers every once and a while. Also in the back area where the other lasers are you can set 1 boomshield on each side and defend there.

Chr0n0
Thanks oldskool. If everyone who views this thread could give it a star rating and post any improvements they can think of to go with the rating they have given, that would be sweet. Going to be working on the last four maps over the weekend so should have some more info up soon. I think Tyro Station wil be first. Canals, Hail, Ruins & Tyro Station. If anyone has beaten back the horde on these maps and wants to help the community, post here and I will check it out, and then add it to the guide. Shipley0110
Reckon for canal the best stategy would be to have two under the bridge nearest the spawn (assuming you spawn in the usual place to execution/warzone etc), and three on top with one sniping from the middle and the others at either end of the bridge (stairs up to it from the walkway and top of the stairs from the canal) Might give this a go over the weekend with my friends. Only thing that might ruin this tactic is if the locust were to spawn from the same point you did. If this were to happen reckon the best place might be at the end of the middle bridge as then there are only three ways to get to it, and no risk of them spawning in your back pocket. Hail has a few dead ends you could occupy (one up top where sniper/torque bow spawns) and make the enemy bottle neck in there to you (would be able to then mow them down with the grinder or mortar). Plus if it's like avalanche the environment risk won't be a factor as it appears to be turned off.

FlyBoy120586
Tested this out last night and it works.... Plant Boomshields backwards so the enemies can't knock them over, they can only jump over them.
