Sorry if this is in wrong thread, please move it to the correct section if there is one.

Okay guys, I been out of the building rigs scene for a long time, Im still running a AMD Athlon x64 on my desktop and just an AMD Turion 64 in my HP laptop. Now I need to kill render times, use photoshop, run itunes, surf the web hopefully all at the same time. And do stuff like record Fraps on Minecraft.

Okay so tell me which of these rigs is faster and which has the better graphics cards, because there both different. I mean one has double the ram but a different processor (still a 6 core) and it has a different graphics card but the other has 8gb ram but I think a faster processor. But the 16gb Build looks to seem a lot lot lot better but I want to know which has the better graphics cards. So pelase guy help me pick the better build! Speed and good graphics!

I don't know what it's like in America, but over here you can buy "barebones" builds.

I got one about 6 months ago, AMD Athlon II X4 635, 4 gig ram, cheapy motherboard, nice case, 500w PSU. That package was £250.

I then added an LG DVD Lightscribe writer, and a ATI Radeon HD5500 for graphics.

Total cost was around £450, including delivery.

The system is more than capable of photoshop (running CS5), cubase ST and Reason 5. It will also play the majority of games.
