10hrs to 1000? Thats a joke, right? Whatever you do you need two playthroughs plus the challenges. I just finished it on normal, was about 6-7 hrs without having to replay sections. Even that annoying final fight I wasted not more than 30 mins with. I think 10hrs to 1k is not realistic, 13-15 is a MINIMUM.

Just finished getting S rank on all of the arenas. For the last two levels I actually had a pretty easy time with my new strategy.

Pretty much what I did the whole time was grab a weapon and use the jump/Y attack on everyone, even the little guys. If there were no weapons than borrow an arm from one of the enemies. It made for great defense as well as offense with the spread damage. Plus it kills everything but the large guys in one hit. I found it especially great against those blue ghouls as you are constantly in the air instead of on the ground where they rape you.

For the tentacles it was the standard method. Charge them and the slash them asap.

Against the bigger guys when I had the necro I would use the jump splattersmash against them for massive damage. To save time only use execution when you need health or necro. Otherwise finish them with another smash or a weapon/jump/Y attack. Against the really big guys that move around on all fours, use the weapon A / Y move on them (takes them down to around half health) and follow up with a jump splatterslam which should either kill them or put them in the red so you can finish them off with an execution and get back some health and necro.

On both wicker and the last arena I finished with about three minutes to spare for the s rank. So I suggest you try out this method if you are having trouble. I think you will be just as amazed as I was at how easy and simple it is once you get the hang of it.

Confused... Guide says it's a 7 for achievement difficultly but estimates the hours at between 10-20hrs. That seems extremely short to me for a game that's ranked a 7.

I would say you are definitely putting in at least 15 hours on this one no way 10 will do it.

As far as difficulty it's more of a 5 and that's only because of the timed arena's the campaign is a joke even on Brutal difficulty.

15 seems short to me to, don't u have to play through the campaign twice? I Brutal isn't unlocked right away. so that's like at least 15 right there. Anyway, it doesn't matter this game is descent and like you said it's not that hard.

Yeah you have to go twice. By the time you get to your second playthrough you are so overpowered that pretty much everything can be killed in one hit as long as you use the correct attacks. Jumping Splattersmash will be your best friend in your second playthrough.

Great guide, I'm working on this game right now.
This game is not so good, not so bad.
It's a "just for fun".

I have a suggestion for this:


Headlong into Monsters: 5
Kill 6 enemies in one ram attack

I think that this achivement is very easy on the side-scrolling section (particularly the Phase 2 side-scrolling section) because you don't have to worry about the "third dimension".

Edit: finally got my 1000/1000 today.
The "Shadow of the Wickerman" arena give me some trouble because of the damned blue enemies that cut my arm off in one hit.
And the game that frozes my X three times doesn't help!

Still a very fun game! Can't believe that it's so underestimated.
