The Wonder that is...LASAGNA!
![]() Yeah...In some ways it might be the perfect food...Beef (or pork, or whatever), pasta, tomatoes, multiple kinds of cheese...Spinach in some cases...All sorts of stuff can go into it and its still delicious! What are your favorite varieties of this wonder food? So perfect it can be a well-balanced meal on its own... When I cook it myself I like mine with ground beef, mozzarella, ricotta and shredded romano on top (and of course a homemade tomato sauce). I brown the ground beef in a pan where I've already simmered some diced onions and garlic. I would add spinach but I usually take my lasagna over to share with my Mom and she can't digest spinach properly. Lasagna is so awesome that this year we decided to buck tradition and instead of having chicken, turkey or ham for Christmas we had...LASAGNA! Though that was largely in part because my Mom wasn't healthy enough to cook and my Dad makes to much of a damn mess when he cooks so I cooked and Lasagna is the only thing I do large enough for a big holiday meal... Lasagna is one of the few foods I dislike. I'm going to go with ground beef though. That's the one I can tolerate best. Sorry to burst your bubble. XD

Sacrilege!! Seriously though, what don't you like about lasagna? Are you not a fan of noodles? Tomato sauce? Cheese? Or is it just one of those things where the combination just doesn't do it for you? |

I'm not sure. Probably the cheese/noodle combination. I don't like ravioli either. Makes me feel kinda sick I guess? I'm not allergic to any foods however.

I guess I can understand that. I once went a little overboard with the ricotta in one of the lasagnas I made (I think I almost doubled the recipe)...Not really a pleasant taste. Now that I think about it...Given all the people with gluten allergies and all the lactose intolerant people, I will admit that lasagna is not the "perfect" food. It is however, very mighty! |

I am not too picky when it comes to lasagna. Chicken, sausage, cheesy, or good old beef are all fine by me. My favorite thing to do is get some lasagna and have it just sit out for a while, maybe even overnight (generally in the fridge by then :P) and heat it up the next day once all the juices have soaked into the pasta. Yum ^^

There's no such thing as too much cheese.
Also, my brother in law hunts Deer each season. So my sister makes lasagna with Venison burger. Now that's the good stuff.

I like it if it's homemade. I don't care for the pre-made frozen ones you just stick in the oven.

Venison. Yes. Very much yes. ![]() Ever used lamb in a lasagna? It's amazing. Nothing beats homemade, but in a pinch I know a couple decent brands of frozen slabs that get the job done for a meal even though it's just not the same

Horse lasagne!
...On a serious note, though, beef. Beef is the only meat I've ever had in a lasagne (though now I can't be too sure of that, lol).

For me the perfect Lasagna has (besides lasagna noodles) garlic, spinach, salami, good Italian or Dutch cheeses, homemade tomato sauce and ground meat spiced with Italian herbs.
Dammit, now I want my lasagna. |
