I'm a big fan of Tenchu and waited for a long time for this game to come out. I pre-ordered it and everything. What a disappointment and waste of $. This was a great game for PS2, but I spent $65 on almost the same game as PS2/Xbox versions. The developers should be ashamed of themselves for sullying the name of such a great series.

well, just wanted to say thank you for saving me from making a huge mistake! I was going to buy it the other day because it was only $20, but now I see why. I figured something had to suck if it dropped that quick in price.

That quick? It's old man. It's good but no where near as good as Wrath of Heaven or Fatal shadows (PS2) or even the originals on PS level editor was sick! they shouldn't have got rid of that...

ughh this game is 30 bucks in australia and our games cost double then what england and america's do.

I spent 15 euro on thise one. The game looks like crap indeed but somehow it kept me playing it over and over and over and over(achievements)...
Damn microsoft should never give up those achievements in their games! |

Is this game really that bad? I've only played Tenchu 1 and 2, and I loved them. It seems like so many people don't like it at all, is there anyone out there that enjoys this game?

I enjoyed this game lol, I only rented it so only had it for 3 days but I enjoyed my playtime with it

Why does nobody like it? Because you have to be skilled and avoid people instead of just running out and attacking? Anyways I love this game. I find it very satisfying to sneak up on a guy, jab my sword in him, and he squirts tons of blood out. So fun

Judging by the graphics.. it looks like it was initially going to be made for the PS2 :P
It gets repetative towards the end but it's easy and fun for a bit. Enjoy it in small bursts.

Disappointed
I was a very big fan of the first game back on PS1. even the 2nd wasnt so bad, but this was absolutely terrible

bought this in 2009 when i got my xbox 360
i'm a fan of the other tenchu's played fatal shadows, 3, 4 return from darkness and this one on ps2 and time of the assassins on psp ( didnt finish it though dint have a memory card almost finished rikimaru's story twice and the rest once almost unlocked the bad guys story) i liked it at first but soon realised it was so repetitive only carried on playing it because it was supposed to be a easy 1000g but i had to play it on all difficulties it was dissapointing and might be the reason why there aren't anymore tenchu games coming out |

I don't recall how much I paid for this game, but I must say that I enjoyed it. There was a lot more depth to the game with the addition of special combos/skills that you could apply to your character, and character customization is always nice. I don't see why everyone hated it. The levels were lazy, but it was still fun to play in short bursts.
