Game locking up afer Hearthfire install

I have NEVER had so many problems with a game locking up as I have with this in the short time I have played the Hearthfire DLC. I was lucky enough to get all the GS but now any time I go inside my Lakeview Manor home it locks up completely.

Every time i can get it to play for a few minutes I try and get all my armory displays put together, get a few things set up and *BAM*, lock up.

And even if you can get a few things done and then save it, when I do reloaded it spits everything I had in the display cases out on the floor.

What is going on with this game?

try uninstalling the dlc and reinstalling, then the game itself, load a previous save... you know, the usual skyrim troubleshooting.

Yeah, did all that and it didnt fix anything. Walk into the house and it locks right up.

You might have to remove the workbenches in your house from the drafting table. It was the solution provided to me when I encountered this problem, and I haven't had it lock up again.

If you still need the workbenches to finish up furnishing your house, I suggest working on one area at a time.

I removed all of the work benches and it STILL freezes up on me all the time. Now its just a few minutes more inbetween freezes.

It has made this game unplayable for me. I am to frustraded with it to even try to go in and decorate anything in the house because I know after I do, the shit is going to lock up on me half way through it.

When I installed this DLC, the main menu temporarily freezes when saying "loading add-ons."

Mixture of attempted fix/experiment.

Have you done the cache clearing thing?

Secondly have you tried to work on the other 2 Hearthfire houses to see if they do the same?

Have you created a new save game instead of using autosave and or overwrite the same save all the time.

Also how old is your original game character on this one, ie was it from 11/11/11 or after patch 1.5 or so?

Older saves have more issues then newer ones.
