Legendary Dragon Help

So, I leveled myself up to lvl 80 last night, and spend a good 5 hours hunting the illusive legendary dragon ... I failed. I can't seem to find one. I've been to every single outside dragon wall location, and the highest I see are "revered dragons", but sometimes plain "dragons" and "elder dragons" show up. I have so many extra dragon souls, it's actually pretty annoying.

Am I doing something wrong? I play on master difficulty, and still nothing ... any help would be appreciated.

The difficulty doesn't make any difference.

As far as I know the legendary dragons require the Dawnguard DLC so make sure you have that installed.

Try getting to lvl 81, maybe that raises the chances.

I have all of the DLC, and beat the entire game ... literally, the whole game ... so it isn't that. I'll try leveling up to 81, but everything I've read tells me I should see them by now...

I agree but all that's left is lvl 81.

And once you kill one... it's the only kind that spawns.

I swear... every single dragon now. EVERY. ONE. Is a Legendary.

I got my legendary dragon at level 78 after fast traveling to Morthal.

Maybe try fast traveling the different cities instead of wall locations?

My theory is that no dragons have "spawned" since I leveled from 60 to 80. I grinded in one chunk of time, so it's possible that all of the dragons that "exist" were already spawned, and that I need to spawn new instances of dragons to get the legendary ones, rather than just happening upon previously spawned dragons. Not sure if that's it, but it's possible i suppose. Thanks for the suggestions, but seriously Bethesda ... do I really have to max my level to find this sucker ... that's just cruel!

Once you hit level 70, a Lengendary dragon spawns at the College of Winterhold.
