Here is a quick guide I made showing an easy way to get this achievement...(can take a few attempts, but works great when you get the rhythm..)

yes worked very well

also in my game, i had the power up bubble, and found that when the lower right corner of the block hits the bubble, that is the perfect time to drop, so along with the rhythm of the blocks swinging in the circle, it provides a visual reference
