Overview:
-Estimated achievement difficulty: 2/10 (Not quite 1 because you need to be able to control it fairly well, but not difficult by any means.)
-Offline: 10 (200)
-Online: 0 (0)
-Approximate amount of time to 200: 2-3 hours
-Minimum number of playthroughs needed: 1
-Number of missable achievements: None
-Do cheat codes disable achievements?: None
-Does difficulty affect achievements?: No
-Glitchy achievements: None


Note: Apparently the achievements will only unlock if you are online at the time. This is currently unconfirmed. If anyone could confirm this it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks to HeatGuyStu for the info.


Introduction:

Many of you will already be quite familiar with NFS. If you aren’t this is a great place to start. The game has easy to understand controls and features core gameplay elements from other NFS titles. While being relatively unchallenging, it is still fun to play.


Playthrough:

You should have no trouble in unlocking most if not all of these achievements in one playthrough. The only ones you may miss are the car customization and purchasing ones but these can easily be attained at any time.

Achievements:

Trial By Fire 5

Complete the NFS tutorial

When you start up the game you will be treated to a cut-scene. After this you will be required to complete a tutorial to understand the gameplay mechanics.


Learner's Permit 15

Acquire your first car

After the tutorial mentioned above you will have to purchase a car to continue. Take your pick!

Apprentice Mechanic 10

Customize a car

Once you’ve purchased any vehicle you can customize certain features of it, either performance or visual upgrades. Simply apply one of these upgrades.


Keys to the City 20

Unlock Port Crescent

This is achieved by completing the eight races available to you in the first area, Sunset Hills.


Branching Out 20

Unlock Sunset Hills

Once you leave the garage for the first time you will be given your first race. After you’ve finished it you will unlock another race and the achievement.


Retired 50

Complete Story Mode

When you get to the third and final area, Palm Harbour, you just need to complete the 8 events and this will pop.



Aficionado 40

Earn 5 cars for your garage

Quite self explanatory. Complete races to earn cash and purchase cars. Certain cars require you to complete certain events or reach a certain amount of style points before they unlock. You can replay any races you’ve done to earn a fraction of the cash you earned the first time round. I had upgraded a few cars and managed to buy five before finishing Port Crescent.


Bountiful 10

Get a bounty over $1000

The sixth event in Port Crescent will require you to achieve a bounty of $60,000 before you cross the finish line. This can be earned by hitting cones (worth $100) to oncoming vehicles (worth up to $5000). This will pop at the end of the race.


Old and Busted 15

Earn a 2nd car for the garage

See ‘Aficionado’.


That Was Easy 15

Complete Old Cutler Road

This is the third event you unlock in Sunset Hills. Simply win the event and you’re done!

As I've be whinging away on the other topic I think it's worth mentioning that you can seemingly only unlock the achievements if you are online. As you say this is probably a 2 not a 1 as it is possible to lose...just about.

Thanks for letting me know about this. I just read the other thread and tried turning both my wifi and data connections off and I can still view the achievements. I know I was online when I unlocked mine but If anyone else can confirm this then I'll edit it but until it's 100% known then I'll post it as unconfirmed.

Hey, mine is intermittent now regarding achievements. I believe there is a bug of sorts but it clearly isn't consistent among users. Hopefully it will be addressed and you won't need to mention on the guide.

It's okay, it's not great, you could get the same type of game cheaper on iTunes I expect. If you want easy chievs tho then this is the game for you...

Hey Mates, I've also got a problem, and i guess it's cause i'm not connected...

I've played trough the story, and got nearly all the achivos, only the "retired" for completing the story is missing.... And i was not online ATM i got it done....

But i'll try it again asap I'm at home and online! Might it will pop up immidiatly after it's online or maybe i've to restart the race.... in the worst case i have to replay the game....

Let you know, how i finally will get it done!

Alright, just got it today.... completed it finaly...!

Sooo, my problem was not the internet connection, there was something else wrong with my HCT 7 Trophy.... Cause I've tried it yester when I was online and it still didn't work... now i've tried it today, after I had restarted my Phone and look at that, it popped Just replayed the last race in the story mode, that's it...!

The tutorial achievement is missable, I think I may havae skipped it and therefore not got it. any idea how to get it other than delete the whole game and redownload it?

Go to the options menu and one of the options is "Play tutorial level". You can play the tutorial anytime you want.

Im stuck, I'm using a maxed out rx-8 and getting smoked on the 2nd to last race in the 2nd level.. What car is the fastest or best to use?

I was offline when I should have unlocked the Bountiful achievement. When it did not unlock I went to the main menu looking for the achievement icon but it was not there (neither was the leaderboard icon). I backed out and reloaded the game and this time the icons were there so I must have been signed on at this point. I redid the 6th event in the second section and when the event finished the achievement unlocked.

hi,

any advice on the last Hot Car Police Chase? I honestly tried 30 times and can't even do it halfway. What happens is that the police just crashes me into the left or right side and then it's over. Tried about for 2 hours now. Can't even do this race halfway and am about to throw my device out of the window!

EDIT: managed it right after posting. Made a lot close calls, so the police would crash into other cars when trying to attack me. Waited with nitro till the end of the race.

Some of the races are frustrating to do. I think the guide may need to add that buying a good, fast car (and upgrading) it to win the later circuits and sprints is a must, not a "missable".

I would say this game will take alot longer than 2-3 hours, I'd say it will take 5 or more. This game doesn't give you enough money to buy better cars for each section. I'm stuck on the last section because I don't have a car thats fast enough to pass all of the cars. There is always one car that takes off faster than everyone else and is halfway across the map before you turn the first corner.

Looks like I'll have to grind previous races so I can get the $80,000 car.

I can't finish the tutorial, as I'm blocked on the drift part. I can just turn my car if I tilt my phone, I can't understand how to drift or what exactly they want me to do. It's the last achievement I need, it's frustrating... Any advice?

Edit: got it somehow, frantically tilted my phone in all directions in the chicane, lol.

Does your Xbox have to be turned on?
Or just connected to WiFi?
