Introduction:

Muv-Luv Alternative is the sequel to Muv-Luv (Extra/Unlimited) picking up directly from where Unlimited ended. Our hero Takeru wakes up his home initially assuming that happened previously was a dream but to his shock realises he's still in the alternate dimension AND has travelled back in time to before the events of Unlimited have even unfurled! With the knowledge he has, he vows to avoid the disaster that awaits humanity and fight for a solution - helping to complete Alternative IV.

Set-up:

The game is far more linear than its predecessor but there are still 5 different ending achievements to be got so let's get started. If you're here just for the achievements then there's good news and bad news. The good news is that there is a fast skip option, the bad news is that you have to keep holding down the right trigger to keep it activated. During your later partial playthroughs, you could use auto skip (toggled on/off by right bumper) but IMO it runs the game slower compared to holding right trigger. In addition, auto skip will stop whenever it hits a new piece of dialog that it hasn't seen before (e.g. everytime you choose new dialogue options for the later walkthroughs) so fast skip is still a better choice if you ask me. Finally on this subject, there are a few scenes that the game doesn't allow you to skip regardless of auto/fast skip, you're just going to have to sit back and enjoy the Japanese voice acting there but at least it only happens 3 or 4 times in the course of the entire game.

IMPORTANT: Whenever you finish/quit the game, be sure to save your system data by choosing the left hand option everytime it asks you a question. The achievements only unlock when the system data is saved and this even applies to chapter progress. (For example, I finished the game for the first time in a single session and saving after the credits meant that I unlocked 13 achievements at once!)

Walkthrough 2 - Ayamine Kei (彩峰慧)

Now, from the main menu, choose "Premiere" then "Chapter". Press the right trigger to go to the next page and then choose まりもの死 under the Episode 7 column. Autoskip until the following two dialogue choices and choose the following;

You can choose anything you like for the remainder of conversations in the game, just keep playing (autoskipping if you wish) until the game finishes. Be sure to save after the game ends.


Walkthrough 3 - Sakaki Chizuru (榊千鶴)

Now, from the main menu, again choose "Premiere" then "Chapter". Press the right trigger to go to the next page and then choose まりもの死 under the Episode 7 column. Autoskip until the following two dialogue choices and choose the following;

You can choose anything you like for the remainder of conversations in the game, just keep playing (autoskipping if you wish) until the game finishes. Be sure to save after the game ends.

Walkthrough 4 - Tamase Miki (珠瀬壬姫)

Now, from the main menu, again choose "Premiere" then "Chapter". Press the right trigger to go to the next page and then choose まりもの死 under the Episode 7 column. Autoskip until the following two dialogue choices and choose the following;

Walkthrough 5 - Yoroi Mikoto (鎧衣尊人)

Now, from the main menu, again choose "Premiere" then "Chapter". Press the right trigger to go to the next page and then choose まりもの死 under the Episode 7 column. Autoskip until the following two dialogue choices and choose the following;

You can choose anything you like for the remainder of conversations in the game, just keep playing (autoskipping if you wish) until the game finishes. Be sure to save after the game ends.

You're very nearly finished now. From the main menu, choose "Premiere" then choose the option underneath "Chapter". Let this short scenario play through until the end (there's no dialogue choices at all) and collect your final achievement. You should now be 1000GS and 2 gamerpics richer!

I can't believe how long the ending takes for this game, literally like an hour even when fast forwarding. Crazy stuff...

Great guide the 1st playthrough took me 2.5 hours and the rest took 1.5 hours I tried changing the options but no change.

Yeah, there should be the option we need to choose between line 5 and 6 on the first playthrough. Here were the two choices,


I chose the first option and got 740G after my first playthrough. I dunno if it matters which choice you make.
